Have you always wanted to have a home large enough to accommodate your extended family for special events (vacations, weddings, anniversary celebrations, etc.)? Or perhaps you have a special group of friends that you love to get together with once a year, but no one single member of the group's house is large enough to accommodate all of you for a weekend. Too, what about the wedding you have coming up and you would love it if all your family could stay together in one homey facility where you could prepare your own meals and relax after the days activities?
Cottage City Manor House, built in 2007, as a three story home with access to Canandaigua Lake and a beach, may be the answer to what you are looking for for your larger than average group. The house can accommodate up to 20 people for sleeping and has several gathering areas for relaxing, visiting, watching TV, etc. Books and board games are available as well as an exercise/game room. There are plenty of nooks and crannies for you to escape to both inside or out, if you are looking for a spot to be alone for awhile.
Whether you are viewing the sunset over the lake or watching snow flakes fall while you warm yourself before the fireplace, you will fall in love with Cottage City Manor House and its surroundings

This unique house and its large lawn, equipped with a new 20' X 30' tent, could not have been better suited for our family reunion. We had folks here from the west coast, New England, and Ireland, and were able to use this lovely place for our gathering. There was room on the lawn for a busy volleyball game while meals were served under the tent. The fire pit was great later in the evening, too. We filled most of the beds in the house, and then had some overflow guests at the Miami Motel nearby, which worked beautifully. Brought in a personal chef for the more organized meals, and he worked out of one kitchen while we all used another, and stored things in the third! All guests were thrilled with the quality of the place, and the proximity to the Canandaigua Lady, and wineries on nearby Seneca Lake. The owner was accomodating, and the place was all that it is advertised to be. We would highly recommend this gem!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had an unusual break and got to see the property inside and go thru before renting it. When we arrived 10 months later, it was even better and more nicely appointed than we remembered. The owner was very busness like but very accomodating. When we checked in mid July 2011 every thing was ready and clean as a whistle. Appliance wise there was everything there to work with and the extra kitchen came in handy one day when we had a large gathering. We had a great time and all totalled there were 6 kids out of the 16 of us under 12 so that is a lot to keep in line and satisfied. Everyone had a great time from lawn games, to water activities across the road, to one day we had a nice lawn party with 16 extra guests and it was the hottest day of the year but we had the inside where it is central air conditioned to fall back on. All in all a good time was had by all. And we too had a nice meal out at a restaurant at the end of the lake in Canandaigua. I don't see how anyone could go wrong here. Once you are there you can be family of leisure or go sightseeing or wine tasting or so many other activities that abound in the area most of the year. We definitely recommend the place which can accomdate a lot of cars even.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

Bridal Party Accomodations and Rehearsal Dinner
Bridal Party Accomodations and Rehearsal Dinner

Our son's wedding was blessed with the accomodations that Cottage City Manor Home provided for all who came to the rehearsal dinner and all who stayed there. We had guest from all over the US and they couldn't say enough wonderful things about the home. We had the rehearsal dinner catered from Dinosaur Barbeque. They came with the food hot and we set it up in the main kitchen on the ground level and it was easy for everyone to fix a dish and sit down. We had hoped to have the dinner outside but the weather had other plans. But we weren't dissappointed after being inside and enjoying the beautifully decorated home. The whole bridal party was able to stay there the night before the wedding with the girls on one floor and the men on another floor. My daughter in law and her family said that was one of the best parts of the wedding celebration. The home was clean and had everything we had been promised. The location was great with Canandaigua only a few miles away and of course Wegmans nearby for all our food needs. We would recommend this property to anyone looking for a wonderful gathering anytime of year. I hope we will be able to use this home again in the future.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

This property is unbelievable! It is as fully equipped as your own home. The listing description is as said in previous reviews understated. There are three levels, all of which are independent of the other. The home was spotless when we arrived. The decor was warm and cozy and because of this afforded a relaxing environment. The grounds offered a lot of outdoor opportunities, although it was cool during our visit, but opportunities for walks were right outside our door. The appliances were top quality, as were the bedding and furnishings. We visited Sonnenberg Gardens, and this property exhibited some of the same fine touches. Sonnenberg is a must see, although the tour of the grounds and then the mansion could be a bit tiring. There were several festivals on the weekend of our visit. We went to Naples and went to the Cummings Nature Preserve (there is a pressed enny machine here!). Although we did not hike the trails, I think it would have been a good outing. We did find a great farmers' market (Joseph's), also in Naples, overflowing with lots of great fall produce: mums, punpkins, honey, jelly, gifts, etc., etc. We went to the Moore Winery and were treated very well. Wine tastes very reasonable here, and it was very good wine! Also in Naples was a shop with goods from local artisans...what a treat; many different arts were represented! The town of Canandaigua was also filled with many nice shops, and there was a chalk drawing competiton when we visited. The town was larger than I envisioned, but the shops were located within several blocks that you could easily walk. Part of our group went to a Fiddler Festival in Wayland; they enjoyed that very much. Mostly we ate in (got rotisserie chicken from Wegman's, not far away); part of our group of 14 ate at Doc's, on the water. The owner kindly called during our stay to ask if everything was going well, and it was. Would we return? YOU BETCHA!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

Our five children, spouses, and nine grandchildren gathered for a week to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and each others company. It was like being in our own home with the every imaginable amenity being thoughtfully provided and not having to do any of the preparation. The rooms were beautifully appointed, pristine, and spacious. There was enough space that even with a lively family you could find a spot to slip away and read a book. The property is even better than the photos. Our family recommends the Children's Museum in Rochester for a fun outing.Recommended for: Families with young children.

A truely wonderful home. Clean and well maintained. Spacious and even more beautiful than the pictures show with stunning views of the lake and the sunsets. The house was fully equiped to cook for our large group. There is something for everyone to do. The kids loved the large yard/play area as well as the games indoors. Even the adults got in on that fun. We would highly recommend this property for anyone.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, people with disabilities.

We rented this home for 5 days for our daughter's wedding weekend in late September 2010. Everything was perfect! 20 of our guests enjoyed staying with us in the house, the three floors worked really well to give everyone space and areas to gather in smaller groups. The yard was the perfect place for their outdoor ceremony and dinner party for 28 under the tent and the full moon. The lower level kitchen worked great for our caterer to prepare and serve us an outdoor candlelit five course dinner. The following day we had a limo bus take us all on a wine tour. This is a wonderful home, tastefully decorated and comfortable, in a great location with tons of things for your guests to enjoy. Sharon is a wonderful person to share this property with so many, our memories will always be very special.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

About the owner: Welcome to Sharon's Lakeside Beach House. My name is Sharon Kehoe and I am the new owner of 4570 Lake Drive. I will be continuing to share this lake property with family groups who require up to 24 sleeping accomodations. This is a beautiful spot and will provide much shared enjoyment for your family and friends. Sharon's Lakeside Beach House is one of several properties that I own and rent. I have done many things in my life including high school teaching, college teaching, lawyering, judging, etc. but one of the activities that has given me the most pleasure is renovating, building, and developing properties and sharing them with others. Hoefully I will be able to share this home with you and your family.
