Location: Hendersonville, Smoky Mountains, North Carolina, USA (15 Minutes from Asheville Airport; Near the Biltmore Estate) The cabin is in Hendersonville near Flat Rock, Laurel Park, Mills River, Fletcher, Etowah, Horse Shoe, Tuxedo, Zirconia, Bat Cave and Gerton. It is also convenient to Asheville, Lake Lure and Brevard.
I know you will enjoy your vacation in our log cabin as much as we do. This log cabin is set back on a paved road in historic Druid Hills, a very walkable neighborhood of Hendersonville. Walk to restaurants, shopping, the bus, groceries, car rental and Patton Park, Hendersonville's largest park. Located on 19 acres, Patton Park has baseball fields, basketball courts, racquetball courts, tennis courts, picnic pavilions, playground, dog-friendly walking trail, and an Olympic-size swimming pool. Barbecue on our spacious porch with 4 Amish Hickory rockers, a glider, a swing and plenty of tables. Move into the living room to relax on the leather sofa or one of the Lazy-Boy Recliners in front of the fire or the large television. The kids can play upstairs or in the private yard. The master bedroom even has a small fire place for romantic evenings. (Don't worry, there is central heat and central air conditioning.) There are lots of family-friendly DVDs and videos and plenty of toys and games for inside or outside. The half-acre yard has a small brook and room for croquet, horseshoes, badminton or bocci.
We have DIRECTV Satellite in both bedrooms and the living room and DSL Wireless Internet.
The kitchen has everything you need, stove, microwave, dishwasher, Kitchenaid Mixer, Blender, Mini Food Processor, even 2 coffee makers for caf & decaf. Enjoy gourmet cooking or send out for pizza, Chinese, Japanese, even Carrabba's. Everybody delivers to here.

Why the Owner Chose Hendersonville
I grew up in Brevard. This is where my family is. So I bought a log cabin and spent two years making it perfect. When I married Cliff, we moved into his house.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
Meadowbrook Cabin is not your standard cabin rental. It is my home. The newly remodeled kitchen is all solid wood cabinetry and has everything. You will find every major and minor appliance you might need. I really miss my dishwasher. You will wonder if it is really running, it is so silent. Everything is new and everything is good quality. The beds are unbelievably comfortable; the linens are all high thread count. The towels are new. I bought them for my guests. They are white so that I can bleach them. You will find everything VERY clean.
Every morning I woke up here I felt like I was lucky enough to live at an expensive resort. Take a cup of coffee out on the front porch in the morning and you will see what I mean. The morning sun comes in the dining room window. The master bedroom stays dark if you close the curtains so you can sleep in.
The cabin is so convenient to everything that I always walked for groceries or to meet my friends at the local restaurants. Walk down Meadowbrook Terrace and you will see all of the little cottages that make Druid Hills such a charming historic neighborhood.
The historic downtown of Hendersonville is only a couple of minutes up the road and there is plenty of free parking. The mall is only a little further, near the movie theater and more restaurants and shops.
The Pisgah National Forest and Blue Ridge Parkway are very nearby.
In the evenings you can watch fireflies in the yard and in the field across the road. A family of mallard ducks has raised their ducklings in the brook near the cane each summer since I came here. There is a container of Purina Duck Chow to feed them.
My grandfather made bird houses for nearly every tree in the yard and I feed the birds seeds and suet. There is a book in the second bedroom so you can identify all the different kinds.

- There is Purina Duck Chow to feed Mommy & Daddy duck. They are back this year!
- Soon we will have the whole family again. This is last summer. 13 ducklings!
- Apples on the baby apple tree in the back yard. The area is full of apple trees.
- Andy's Cove Trail, behind the Pisgah National Forest Ranger Station. Easy hike.

I have received one negative comment. The language is inappropriate, so I deleted it, but here are the issues. 1- There is a cat that comes to the front porch of the cabin sometimes. I leave food in the cabin if guests would like to feed the cat, although it is not required, since lots of neighbors also feed the cat. The cat is very timid and will not rub on you, which was her fear. Most guests say they never even see the cat. If you are really that afraid of cats, be warned, you might see one. 2- The guest could not get the fires to work. It never occurred to me that a guest would want a fire in August, so the pilots were not lit. If she had called, I would have come an lit them. They are lit now. If you have any trouble with the fires, just call. Nobody else has had any problem. 3- The cabin is only 2 bedroom. Can't argue that one. It is a two bedroom cabin. There is also a queen sleeper in the living room and a single bed in the loft. 4- All of the toys are "girl toys." There is a little kitchen and Barbies and lots of girl toys. My grandchildren are all girls. But there are also Legos, a wooden train set, Lincoln Logs, little cars and trucks and lots of games and puzzles. My nephew puts on the chef's hat and cooks. Most toys are older type toys. I prefer 1950's type toys. The person who put a negative mark in my guest book was not even the person that rented the cabin. She was a guest of my guest.
