My husband and I stayed in this apartment for 4 nights. Communication with the owner is outstanding. We walked from the train station to the property and was met, as previously arranged. Later, the owner, Daniela, met us at the apartment and gave detailed notes about power, internet, and appliances. Shared maps, notes and tips on where to go and what to see. Property is even better than the pictures. We felt at home the very first night. Place is very clean, well-lighted, spacious bed with a huge closet, beautiful bathroom, updated kitchen. You can feel the love and care by the owner in choosing everything - furniture, appliances, even the dishes and flatware's color seemed to be chosen to enhance an overall plan. Close to water bus stops, great places to eat, bakery, grocery, wine shops. Five star property, in my opinion. Highly recommended. Will definitely stay here again when we go back to Venice.

This is the perfect little apartment in the perfect spot in Venice. It's right in the heart of the Cannaregio district just two minutes from Tintoretto's workshop and the lovely church featuring his extraordinary masterpieces. Whilst you have everything one minute from your doorstop - supermarket, bakery, wineshop, huge choice of restaurants - it's absolutely quiet and peaceful at night ensuring great sleep in the generously-sized bed. The apartment is well-furnished, very attractive and contemporary and very clean and well-maintained. Daniel, the owner, provides excellent customer service in that someone met us at the vaporetto stop and took us to the apartment, and then Daniela herself arrived a little later and gave us lots of useful info to orient us to both the apartment, the area and Venice in general. We felt welcomed and well taken care of and it was a delightful experience in one of the world's most beautiful cities - thank you!
Owner response:Dear Guest, thank you indeed for your nice words much appreciated. It is always a great pleasure to hear the enthusiasm of my guests that is also mine. I look after the apartment with so much love and care and whenever I received such a lovely comment, I am so happy and satisfied. You will be very welcome whenever you decide to visit Venice again and in the meantime, I am pleased to send you my sincerely, warmest regards, Daniela

A beautiful apartment away from the busiest part of Venice, yet very close to shops, supermarket, open market, restaurants and bars. It is very close to two vaporetto stops which take you straight to ‘Piazza San Marco’. We also really enjoyed the walk to ‘Piazza San Marco’ and stopping along the way to see the small shops. Inside the app. is very warm and comfortable for the cold days and it has two air-conditions for the hot days. The kitchen and bath room are equipped with everything and very clean. It is a home away from home. Daniela met us at the vaporetto stop, which until you get oriented with the beautiful city is a plus. She is very sweet, polite and gave us a lot of useful information. She also deals with a problem diligently and efficiently. It is a pleasure to meet her as she made our holiday more special. Thank you Daniela, we will recommend your apartment to our family and friends. We hope to see you again soon!
Owner response:Dear Guest, it has been my great pleasure to have met you and your husband as well. You are so lovely and I am glad that the apartment has contributed to make your stay in Venice even nicer and pleasant. You will be always welcome at 'Perla Grigia' anytime. Warmest regards, Daniela

We stayed for a week in this lovely apartment. It was extremely comfortable and well-appointed. It is located in a quiet residential section of Venice with several excellent non-tourist restaurants nearby--we especially liked Da Rioba, and L'Anice Stellato which is practically next door. Everything we wanted to see in the city is an easy walk or vaporetto ride away. Daniela, the owner, met us at the vaporetto stop and she was very helpful as well as charming. We would definitely go back.

This apartment is a small jewel in Venice! Immaculate, spacious, well-equipped and comfortable, and walking disctance to just about everything. Daniela was very pleasant to work with, providing us with directions prior to our arrival, and on arrival with maps, and most especially, with context to help us get the most possible out of our visit. Unfortunately, we had driving rains during our visit, but the umbrella in the apartment helped us brave the weather, and the heated apartment was a wonderful haven for breaks. We would absolutely stay here again on our next visit to Venice, and we highly recommend this property. Thank you!

My wife and I stayed in this modern apartment for 3 nights in Sept 2011. We loved everything about the apartment, from the large kitchen to the excellent bedroom and bathroom/shower. The A/C work very well (2 units) as did TV/internet and washer. Location was in a fantastic/quiet area, well off the tourist path, and we easily walked all over Venice. There's a drawer with info and maps that made getting around quite easy. Advice to pack light and leave room for purchases is wise. We found Venice to be a wonderful city to explore, unlike any place we'd ever been, and this apartment only enhanced the experience. Highly recommended and would stay there again.

My husband, adult daughter and I stayed at this apartment for 4 nights of a 21 day stay in Italy. The apartment is very well equipped, with the finest quality modern fittings and furnishings. The shower is unusually big for Italy, with lots of hot water. The kitchen has everything you need to fix a full meal, and the living and bedroom areas are spacious. There was a laptop computer provided which connected to the internet. The apartment itself is on the ground floor, just steps to the water. At the rear of the apartment is a small "patio" area. The bed is large, with a firm mattress, and the sofa sleeper in the living room was comfortable (unlike some sleepers). The area itself was for our family the perfect location. Away from the touristy areas, 15 minutes walk from the train station, and just 5 minutes walk to the water taxi (Alilaguna) that whisks you to Marco Polo airport in 20 minutes. We walked many times to the Rialto Bridge, and onto St. Mark's, (maybe 30 minutes with window shopping?) Venice is an amazing destination to visit. Full of beauty, history, culture, art, amazing architecture, canals. The restaurants are great, and contrary to what we had read not super expensive. There are several well stocked and reasonably priced grocery stores close to the apartment. Venice is full of awesome little boutiques, curio shops, shoe outlets, and Italian made leather goods. Our hosts were gracious and accommodating. We were greeted at the train station, and when my husband left his cell phone in the apartment on our departure, and it was mailed to us (free of charge) within a day. In summary, we highly recommend this apartment, but pack light, leave room in your suitcase to shop, and stay as long as you can!

This is a wonderful apartment in a great location. it is actually nicer than in the photo. The appliances are new and work very well. Our family of 5 stayed for 3 nights and was very comfortable. The apartment is very clean, attractive and modern. Bathroom and kitchen are beautiful. The convertible beds for the kids were very comfortable. The neighbourhood is quiet but there are good restaurants just around the corner. The location is removed from the busy tourist area but it is a short walk to any the main sights. Daniela left detailed instructions regarding how to use the wi-fi and tv which was helpful. We had a flight change and arrived 4 hours early. We sent an urgent message from the airport asking to be met at the water bus stop early. We were so happy to have Pietro waiting for us as we stepped off the bus!! Very accomodating indeed! A great stay in Venice - if i come back I will stay here again.

It was a pleasant stay from the beginning when we were greeted by owner. We were given many valuable information, which helped us a lot during the stay. The place has the obvious personal touches, which makes the stay very comfortable. It's located not too far from all attractions, yet it's not too close to all noisy area. :) I would love to go back and enjoy Venice more staying at this place again!!
Owner response:Dear Guest, thanks indeed for the lovely review. What a great pleasure to hear your satisfaction.......I am very glad to remain at your disposal in whenever you will decide to come back to visit Venice. Warmest, sincerely regards, Daniela

My family and I stayed at this apartment in June2011and it was delightful! Daniela welcomed us and made sure to make us as comfortable as possible. The apartment was more beautiful than the pictures and it was immaculate. Daniel a and her husband gave some great recommendations to restaurants and even met us for drinks on our last day! We highly recommend this apartment and would love to stay there again on our next stay in Venice.

I decided to visit Venice over Easter weekend, and thankfully came across Daniela's beautiful Venetian apartment. She was so helpful in getting everything booked and arranged prior to my arrival. Once I got there a friend of hers met me at the water bus stop and walked me to the apartment, so there was no issue attempting to find the place on my own. The apartment itself is plenty spacious for 3-4 people, even though I just went alone. All the furniture and the interior of the apartment are just as new as it looks in the pictures posted on the VRBO page. The location of the apartment is fantastic, it is just far enough away from the tourist traps that the restaurants are legit local cuisine and delicious, but it is close enough that it is very easy to walk to everything you want to see in Venice. The apartment is located on a nice quiet street right on a beautiful canal, but is just one bridge/block over from a nice night-time scene with a couple bars and great restaurants. Once I figured out how to get around town (not to bad with a good map and decent sense of direction), I was able to get to St. Marc's Square in about 15 minutes! Very nice! I don't know the next time I will be back in Venice, but whenever it is, I will definitely be hoping that Daniela's apartment is available! Thank you!
Owner response:Dear Jeff, a big thanks to you for the lovely words much appreciated. I am very pleased that the apartment and myself have contribuited to make your stay in Venice great and I will be very glad to have you as welcoming guest whenever you decide to return to Venice. With my warmest, sincerely regards, Daniela

My wife and I had a wonderful 4 nights in this apartment (loft is perhaps deceiving - it is on the ground floor). We were met as arranged at the vaporetto stop on the Grand Canal and escorted to the apartment. It is in a very quiet area, about 20 minutes brisk walk to San Marco, but only 4 minutes from a vaporetto stop on the lagoon. We bought 72 hour passes and used the vaporettos constantly. The apartment was spotless and had everything that we needed (except perhaps a toaster for making breakfast). Wifi was always available. There are some very nice 'local' restaurants in the immediate area and a small grocery store nearby. There is no 'down side' to this place.
Owner response:Dear guest, many thanks indeed for your kind message which made myself very happy as all times I receive such nice comments. My husband and I look after the apartment as best as we can in order to make our guests comfortable like being home and it is such a nice feeling and a great pleasure whenever we hear our guests satisfied. I wish to thank you for the toaster advice, very precious advice, also very useful and helping us to improve our service for our guests. Surely we will buy it shortly. We hope to see you again during your next visit at Venice, you will be very welcome. In the meantime, we send you our warmest, sincerely regards, Daniela

My friend and I were lucky enough to have booked this cute apt for our visit in April. Communication with Daniela was great from beginning to end. Deposit was easy thru Paypal. Someone met us at the train station and walked us to the apt. He gave us a quick once over of the apt, appliances and rules. The apt had modern & stylish decorations and was very clean. The bathroom tile in the shower is beautiful! It's got everything to make the traveler feel at home. The apt is on a quiet street and seemed like a safe neighborhood. We were about a 5 minute walk to the casino so we tried our luck there. It's NOT like Vegas in any way. Very quiet & subdued for a casino, but we still had fun, even if we lost our euros... Anyway, Daniela has thoughtfully provided maps. It's a little challenging at first but once you get the hang of it, it's easy to find your way around. Even if you get lost, you'll still stumble on great little shops & restaurants.
Owner response:Dear guest, very happy to know that you had a very nice time in Venice at 'Perla Grigia'. Everything sounded so great and it is a great satisfcation for myself that love and care in looking after the apartment find the pleasure of my welcoming guests. Really hope to see you again at some point. With my kindest regards, Daniela

The owner Daniela spent the extra money to make this apartment a stylish retreat filled with comfortable furniture, quality linens, and even expensive kitchenware. She has also keeps the apartment spotless. It is not far from the train station out of the way on a quiet dead end street. It was great feeling like I was living in Venice for a few days rather than just visiting. Excellent value for your dollar or euro, especially in Venice. Highly recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this well-equipped, very clean, modern apartment. It is in a convenient location but far from the more crowded, tourist areas. We found it easy to walk to the train station from here. Grocery stores are accessible with a good map or directions from kind neighbours. The owner of the apartment is very welcoming and accommodating. Venice is expensive and it was nice to have a kitchen to cook meals in. We loved our stay here and will be back to spend more time in this intriguing city. We have recommended this apartment to our friends without reservation.

We stayed at the apartment for two nights only (18 & 19 July), but it was a perfect place to see the whole city. Even for such a short stay, our host provided us with the same hospitality that you would expect, or at least hope that you would get if you stayed for a week or a month. Someone met us at our water taxi stop and walked us to the apartment, explaining where we would want to go for food and entertainment the whole way. She showed us how everything worked and we found the set up to be very convenient. This would have been an excellent review had we not had two small problems, one of which may have been caused by technical difficulties on my part. They have a wireless internet key that was to be used to connect to the internet. I could get my laptop connected to the wireless router but could not connect to the internet. Since we were there such a short time I did not worry about it. There is an internet cafe that is only 3.50 euro per hour right around the corner. I didn't come to Venice to surf the internet so no worries. It is nice to do some research and look things up, but I believe that would have been an easy fix had I called the owner. Second problem was (and I don't know if it was rectified or what caused it) the power went out the morning we were leaving. My son had already showered and so no problem for him. Unfortunately for me the hot water must be point of use and I had no hot water just a few minutes after the power went out. I fortunately still had some hot water on the stove and was able to take a sponge bath. The fixtures and amenities in the apartment were very new, modern and upscale. I had to cut my trip short due to a problem back in the states and found myself back in Venice a week later for one night. I contacted the owner, who was gracious enough to recommend some hotels for the one night. The hotel I ended up staying at (Hotel Minerva) was very nice but quite small compared to the unit we had stayed in. I was by myself at this point and was not inconvenienced by that. The cost was 50 Euro a night less, but I would say that the apartment was worth every bit of that extra money. All in all, a very nice experience in Venice, in spite of the troubles we had. The owner was very gracious from the time I had contacted her to the moment we arrived, and proved to be an excellent resource. I would highly recommend this a for anyone traveling that wants a little more space than the average hotel room.

The apartment is located in a quiet and lovely part of Venice. Just 15 minute walk to Rialto bridge. Very comfortable and clean. We were disappointed however to the inaccurate descriptions of amenities ( which now have somewhat been changed since our return home) There is no gas fireplace, hot tub, lush garden lanai, dryer, or true wi-fi ( laptop only compatable). It would have been nice to be provided a book ( like other apartments have had ) that shows you how to work the t.v., wi-fi, restaurants and other recommendations. If the owner had been completely honest with the above items this apartment would have been an excellent recommendation rather than just a good one.
