Bayview Vacation Home in Homer, Alaska invites you to experience unobstructed panoramic view. It sits atop a hillside overlooking downtown, Beluga Lake, Homer airport, Kachemak Bay, the Spit, Kenai Mountains and beautiful glaciers. The view from our home is very colorful, inspiring and ever-changing. Snow-capped mountains, green forests, glowing yellow meadows during sunset, and a sea of clouds along the blue bay are just some of the stunning views you can see during the day. At night, you can see the street lights sparkling on the Spit and the town. Even during rainy days, you will enjoy enchanting views of reflecting water droplets.
Our home was custom built in 2003 and faces nearly one acre of wild flower gardens. The house has a living area of 3,200 square feet, divided into upper and lower levels. In the upper level, the living room has vaulted high ceilings and huge panoramic windows built into the entire front wall. The windows allow you to soak in the views of the curved Spit, mountains and gleaming glaciers formed across the bay.
The master bedroom has one queen bed and one full bathroom equipped with a Jacuzzi bathtub. You can walk to the deck from the master bedroom or just lie down on the bed to enjoy the beautiful view.
The second bedroom has one queen size bed and one window. There is also one sofa bed for extra visitors and another bathroom near the entrance. Visitors sleeping on the sofa bed will feel like they are being embraced by the mountains in the dimming sunset. The spacious kitchen and dining area has a sliding door which leads to the deck. Additionally, the upper level is equipped with a washer and dryer for your convenience.
For privacy, a separate entrance deck leads to the lower level. There is also an indoor stairway leading to the lower level. The lower level has a living room with big windows overlooking the view and it contains two big bedrooms. One room has one queen-size bed and the other has two full-size beds. Both rooms have large windows to view the Spit and Kenai mountains. The lower level kitchen and dining area was newly built in 2008. The kitchens in each level are well equipped with all the necessary amenities for you to enjoy cooking and dining.
We purchased this lovely home in 2008 for our retirement and furnished it with the finest new furniture for your comfort. We also provided two 42” wide-screen HDTV, high speed internet, and cable/satellite TV for your entertainment. Our home sits on a private street where you can enjoy the serene wilderness, but easily get to town and the Spit within a few minutes drive.
Our house is the best for you to enjoy your vacation in Homer. Here are the features which you can not find from other places.
* Million-dollor's panoramic view, overlooking the Spit and Kachemak bay.
* A few minutes to the town, restaurants, Spit and etc.
* Two big living rooms and two complete kitchens and dining areas. Very spacious.
* Comparable rate but more luxurious in prestigious location .

We travel to Alaska every year to enjoy the activities this great state offers. Usually it's just my husband and I or maybe another couple, but every once in a while we gather a larger group of friends & relatives and meet in Homer. Twice now we've stayed at the Bayview Vacation home, once in 2009 and then again this past year. We rent the entire house so there is plenty of room for everyone. The home is always clean and waiting our arrival. It's so nice to have cooking & laundry facilities while we fish, hike and travel the area. I do wish we could check in a little earlier, having to wait until 4pm is a little inconvenient. Other than that, I can't say much negative about our experience. The home is warm, comfortable, and offers spectacular views. We would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

Robin, Thank you so much for the use of your beautiful home! The wedding was wonderful. We had sunny weather, and an outdoor ceremony on the deck, followed by a good old Alaskan fish fry. Everyone loved the vacation home, and had only great things to say about our choice in booking. I'm still collecting the wedding photos, but I will definitely send you some very soon! Just wanted to say "Thank you." It really was very picturesque and perfect.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I liked this house so much that I stayed there twice in one month - once with my girlfriend (we stayed downstairs) and another time with a group of friends (entire house). The views are fantastic and the house is beautiful and new. The owners were always prompt in communication which made things easy. Be aware that the house is new and has white carpeting - which may be a challenge with kids or groups that aren't as careful as the owners may want you to be. It could lead to a loss of your deposit as the owners are (rightfully) very concerned with the condition of the house. (Also be aware that buried in the rental agreement is the request to leave the house clean and remove all trash - which could also lead to loss of some of your deposit) You will love the house and the property . AMAZING views of Homer Spit and Kachemak Bay. Highly recommended for responsible renters (you probably know if you aren't one of these!)Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

Bayview vacation home in Homer is a lovely place to stay. The view is absolutely breathtaking. The home is large, very well kept, clean and spacious. The rooms are large and the beds comfortable. There were seven of us and we rented the entire house and it was perfect, everyone had space to get away, and there was a great space to get together. It was everything we had hoped for and we all enjoyed our stay tremendously. The view was absolutely breathtaking and we found ourselves exclaiming again and again about the beautiful and constantly changing scenery; and also about the fact that we wouldn't get anything done if we lived there because we would spend too much time just staring out the windows. Our visit was complete when a yearling moose to ambled by. We loved this house and wished we had another week there.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

The house was in excellent condition! Cable tv was a plus, kitchen was great for making meals (although a new set of nonstick pans would be a bonus). The view is awesome, and when we awoke the first morning, it seemed as though the house was in the clouds, as Homer was completely overcast. The place was a bit difficult to find in the dark once we were on the last street, maybe mentioning what house it is next to would be helpful for future visitors. We had friends stay downstairs, so the water did get cold for them after we filled the jacuzzi tub, but the stay was overall amazing. We go to Homer quite a bit, and this house definitely offers the privacy we seek when we get out of town!Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

Thanks for considering my feedback. Keeping the tall weeds cut would be good enough – but I think it would be great to have a bit of lawn to sit out on for the lower unit. We spent a fair amount of time on the outside deck upstairs when the sun was shining and really enjoyed it. We will definitely rent from you again whenever we return to Homer – you have a very special place.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
