Perfect 20th Anniversary get away

We just returned from one of our most memorable beach vacations celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. We love beach vacations, have spent time in Cabo, Cancun, Playa de Carmen, Cozamel, Grand Cayman, Hawaii, and St. Tropez in Sourthern France. However, Roatan was by far the best overall and Lindy's Infinity Bay condo was the perfect home base. The condo is next to the infinity pool and a few steps from the beach bar that is right on the beach. You can snorkel in live coral from the beach - similar to Grand Cayman but featuring a much larger display of live coral. Lot's of restaurants a short walk down the beach from the condo. No concerns about safety or cleanliness that you occasionally experience in Mexico. The condo was super clean and like new condition. I'm not bilingual and this was never a problem. Either US$$ or credit cards were accepted almost everywhere (take cash for taxi's and some restaurants). Don't forget to let your credit card company know you are traveling out of country so they don't turn your card off. Lindy did an great job briefing us in advance for the trip. She had a free ride waiting for us at the airport - it couldn't have been easier. You really don't need to rent a car - it's easy and relatively cheap to take a taxi (car or water) to get to where you want to go. We did rent a 200cc motorcycle and had a great time touring the entire island - we plan to rent a motorcycle the full week next time. Must see or do - snorkeling on the beach at West Bay, visit Gumbalinda (zip lines and cute monkeys), parasailing, long walks along the beach, fire dance on the beach, lobster night at Fosters, and a Monkey Lala drink at Bananarama. If you are adventurous, travel to the east end of the island for a little local color at Hole in the Wall and a tour of the pirate escape route through the mangroves. We're already planning our next trip! Lindy's condo is the perfect home base.

Great for relaxing

This unit was exactly as advertised. Clean, above average finishes, friendly staff, gorgeous pool and an airport shuttle. From what we saw, this was the nicest resort on West Bay. We can recommend the dive shop in the resort. Rick was very knowledgeable, and my boyfriend had an enjoyable dive. I cannot comment on the other excursions offered by the resort. Besides the kitchen closing at 10pm, we had no complaints about the food at the resort. It was delicious and reasonably priced (for vacation food). Having your own refrigerator and oven make the unit optimal if you are extremely budget-conscious, or if you just want to freeze a couple bottles of rum for an all-day pool-side happy hour. I would definitely recommend staying at this resort/unit to anyone interested in visiting Roatan.

The unit is great, i t has a prime position in infinity bay right up near the front so very easy to stroll up and down to the water (less than a minute!). The condo itself if great- the whole unit is perfectly air conditioned so great to come back to after beach (having said that we actually feel the type of heat here to be really good- not too humid or sufforcating) You can even see the sea from inside the unit and not just from outside area. The bed is HUGE!! we have never seen such a big bed, and the unit is way more spacious then the pics make it look. This place truly is beautiful. The beach is perfect, lovely clear clean calm water that you can swim in for hours on end.If you want to get out and about, we saw jet skiing, parasailing, jet skis etc etc etc. There is a activity co ordinator who is not at all pushy but really helpful. The snokelling is really really good, the fish seem to be used to humans as they come so close and will only really move off if you make sudden movements. The area just in front of infiinity is great, the best part of the beach in my opinion. From about 5.30 it gets nice and breezy and cool (well in tropical terms anyway!) which is perfect as u dont have to worry about getting all hot and bothered during dinner. The people are friendly and the island is really colourful and pretty, lots of pinks and turquoises. We are normally "move about" holiday people so 2 weeks in one place was a first for us and we were a little worried we would get itchy feet but it kind of felt like a homely place, some nights we stayed in and cooked others we went out. We book direct through owners a lot so are used to sometimes worrying but Lindy is genuinely one if the best we have dealt with. She was so quick to reply to my emails and rest my mind of any queries- and i had a few. (Thanks again Lindy!!) even though we were half way across the world it seemed like we were on the the same time zone as the replies were so quick!! Also the fact that you book through the owner made no difference in terms of services available at the resort. We could charge stuff to the room, even the activities and we got maid service every three days. The number one thing about this holiday was that the beach lived up to our expectations-really really beautiful. Anyway Lindy thanks so much for all your help in getting us organised and thanks for letting us rent your unit- we absolutely loved it. We rarely visit places twice but this is one we hope to!!

A great vacation at a great facility!!!

My wife and I recently returned from Roatan (2-12 / 2-26) and the Infinity Bay Resort and can honestly say it was the best vacation we've had in our nearly 20 years of marriage. The resort, Infinity Bay was fabulous. Not a singular complaint can be made by ourselves. We found the facility in great shape (although still being built in some phases) and it fulfilled all of our needs. The condo itself was perfec for two people, plenty of room for everything you need to do indoors. The owner Lindy was great to work with and very helpful answering some questions before we went. She made sure all the airport exchanges etc., were taken care of. The resort itself was just nice... all you could want. The restaurant was enjoyable (outdoors, alfresco style!) the food was prepared well, and we thought quite affordable as well. The service was outstanding. The condo was cleaned 5 seperate times in the two weeks we were there so you always had fresh linens etc... I read plenty of critical reviews on trip advisor regarding this resort, and we can pretty much debunk all of them. Top notch in every regard... It is "island time"... so something that may take 10 minutes in the States, takes 20 minutes there...So What?!?!?! You are in paradise.... sit back, relax, and have another beer. The location can NOT be beat... right on the best part of the beach in West Bay... Short 6-7 minute water taxi ride ($3) to West End for other dining options and shopping... We had about 5 Dinners at IBR, but also dined at "Argentian Grill", "The Thirsty Turtle", "Eagle Ray's", and "Tong's Thai"... all of which I would consider "above average"... We look forward to returning again someday... this resort is only going to improve with time!!!
