The Beach House is an oceanfront home, located on the beautiful sunny south shore of Kaua'i. It is literally 30 feet from the water’s edge. Watch the sun set every evening on the horizon, illuminating the clouds and the sky into brilliant patterns and hues. The sea turtles swim constantly at water’s edge, and the surfers perform defiant maneuvers on the blue breaking waves beyond.
If you like snorkeling, some of the best on the island is right at your door. If you prefer the sand, white sandy beaches are only steps away on either side of the property, and the warm Hawaiian water is always inviting. At night, your reality will seamlessly become a dream with the sound of the waves just outside.
The Beach House is completely private, in tropical surroundings, with rock and coral reefs on both sides, and a tranquil cove to the right. Situated on a single lane road, the neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, yet located close to all of Poipu’s amenities. A number of world class beaches are located only a few minutes away, along with golf courses, tennis courts, shopping, and restaurants. Take a walk, hike, or jog to explore Kauai’s south shore. Just quiet paradise, but close to all the activities you will want to enjoy.
Beach House Size and Description:
The Beach House is a single story gem, with glass walls across the back. It has 3 bedrooms and 3 baths, with a front row ocean view from almost everywhere inside the home. You will fall in love with this place the moment you enter the front door and experience the breathtaking ocean panorama at your feet. Any closer and you would be in a boat. Relax on the large lanai, with the refreshing breeze and fragrant tropical smells of Kaua'i.
The Beach House was completely renovated in 2008. Everything inside is new. The 1700 square foot home features an enormous, open living-dining area, a fully stocked gourmet kitchen with a large pantry, and inside laundry facilities. A California king bed is in the master bedroom. The second and third bedrooms both offer queen sized beds. All baths have granite counter tops, and top of the line European designed Grohe fixtures. One piece Kohler toilets are in all three baths. All linens and towels are provided, including plenty of large beach towels.
The newly renovated Beach House offers quality features throughout. The kitchen has a fabulous ocean view, and is fully equipped with everything you will need to create great gourmet meals. It is large, with a center island five burner cook top. All appliances (refrigerator, oven, stove, dishwasher and microwave) are top of the line digital stainless steel Jennair units.
The living room/dining room/family room areas have dynamic ocean views, and are comfortable and relaxing. The furnishings are tropical bamboo. A wall mounted 42 inch LDC digital TV is available with the full array of cable channels, including HD, HBO, DVR, and a DVD-CD player. High speed Wi-Fi (wireless) Internet service is also offered at the Beach House, as well as free long distance telephone service to anywhere in Hawaii, the continental United States, and Canada.
The Beach House is a custom designed tropical retreat. The interior has glass walls that open wide to the large lanai, where waves lap the reef only steps away. A gas barbecue is outside on the deck, for casual cooking. Ceiling fans are in each room, to enhance the cool, scented breeze of the trade winds. And, when you return from the beach, or if you just want to cool off, an outdoor, hot/cold shower is in a private corner of the rear yard, overlooking the sparkling ocean and reef. This home is not just another rental property, but is the owner’s part time residence, and it is impeccably maintained inside and out. Our romance with the Hawaiian Islands began during our first vacation to the Big Island of Hawai'i in 1976. Since then my wife and I have visited many, many times. As our kids were growing up we would stay at my parent's time share on the Big Island for a month each summer. That never seemed to be enough for me and I was determined to purchase a home in Hawai'i and somehow eventually live there. My wife enjoyed our vacations, but was not so sure about purchasing a home in Hawai'i until we visited Kaua'i for the first time in 2001. After walking in the front door for the first time of what would soon be our Beach House in Kaua'i, she said "Tom, if you buy this house for me I could live in Hawai'i." Although I thought at first that she was joking, through quite a series of miracles we were able to purchase the property. Since then we have attempted to make Kaua'i more and more our home. We live at our Poipu Beach House part of the time each year, and spend the remainder at our home in Capistrano Beach, California, where Deena is a teacher. I am a helicopter pilot, and often spend my time off at our Kaua'i home making repairs, doing routine maintenance, and renovating. I completed an extensive remodel of the property during the first half of 2008. Our kids are now grown, and we have more time to now enjoy the romantic and relaxing Hawaiian lifestyle and culture together. I am a water person, so I couldn't be happier with the ocean in my back yard, and the constant sound of the Hawaiian surf splashing on the seawall. My wife loves to walk to Spouting Horn, the Botanical Gardens, shopping, restaurants, and the many beaches that are close by. Our pets are the sea turtles that live in the water in front of our home.

My husband and I, with our three college-aged children, stayed at the Beach House for two weeks and loved every minute of it! Tom is one of the finest people you will ever meet. He was the most cordial of hosts, and we will always be grateful he shared his lovely home with us. We were able to discover the beauty of Kauai because this house has such a fantastic location. Not only is it located on a quiet road, close to many activities, but it is situated along a dramatic coastline where we watched the waves crashing, turtle and whales swimming just off shore, and the most gorgeous of sunsets. Some of the best snorkeling on the island is also right out your door. The yard is great for sunbathing and sandy beaches are close by. We've traveled many places around the world, but this was truly our favorite. The house was fantastic. The views alone make it all worthwhile. We're dreaming of our wonderful stay and planning for a return visit!

My wife and I stayed with another couple and it could not of worked out better. We had our rooms at either end and then shared the kitchen and living area. We were there for 10 days and enjoyed 180 degree view of the ocean straight ahead we watched the wales and then off to the right the surfers. In the evening we enjoyed our dinners watching the sun set from the deck over the water. For shopping we could drive or hike up to the local shopping that satisfied all our wants. We had a choice of incredible golf courses and hiking trails and beaches. The accomodation and management exceeded our expectations and we would certainly stay again.

My husband and I rented this lovely home together with two other couples for a week in June 2011. When first arrived, we all stood in the garden for about 15 minutes just admiring the spectacular view of the ocean. As we walked towards the end of the garden, we looked over the small wall to see turtles feeding off the rocks below. We thought this was incredibly special until Tom (the owner) told us that this was a very common occurrence. And so it was, we watched the turtles every day for the entire week. The house more than met our expectations. It is super clean and extremely comfortable. There is plenty of room to move about both inside and out. The kitchen is very modern and well equipped so we all enjoyed taking turns cooking meals. We used the BBQ area outside and simply sat there in the evenings watching the surfers use up the last bit of sunlight. The sunsets were beautiful and so relaxing after a day of exploring this exquisite Island. Again in the morning, we watched the sunrise as the surfers seized their place in the ocean for another day. At times, we just walked to a beach located very close to the house. Baby Beach is a couple of houses down the road and one morning, it was completely deserted so we felt as if we had our own private beach. The owner (Tom) was incredibly helpful all through the booking process and checked in with us when we arrived to make sure everything was OK. We were all so sad to leave but very happy to have had this experience and I can certainly say that staying in this delightful home left us refreshed and revitalized.

Also, thanks for going out of your way both before and during our stay to make our experience absolutely perfect. Your willingness and patience in giving travel tips and advice for our adventures was much appreciated. Although the pictures of your gorgeous beach house and the views it offered were spectacular, they didn’t seem to do either justice. Neither the location or the views can be beat - it’s a wonder you’re ever able to leave. I know we had a very, very difficult time with it, and are counting the days till our return. I know you call it your beach house, but perhaps you should reconsider calling it the “beach home” as that’s how it made us feel. Location, location, location. I guess it’s not just important when buying a home, but also when renting one. The ability to start our day watching sea turtles and whales frolicking in the ocean while enjoying a private breakfast on the lanai was incredible. Followed by some of the islands best snorkeling a stones throw away in the cove right out front. The quaint town of Koloa just up the road as well as “The Beach House” one of Kauai’s best restaurants a mere three minute walk – perfect. Jogging to Spouting Horn for sunrise wasn’t too shabby either. We will definitely be calling your beach house home again and would highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Kauai. The memories made will last a lifetime and often evoke soothing thoughts of drifting off to sleep to the calming sounds of the ocean.

I've travelled the world over and this is a highlight. We spent the week after Christmas with our four college age kids and we all had a blast! WHAT A VIEW! Each evening we sat on the deck admiring a glorious sunset after a whole day of taking in the sights of Kauai. Each night, we were lulled to sleep by the waves lapping up against the shoreline just steps from the house. The beds were SO comfortable! It was especially nice to have the view of the ocean with no obstruction. Since it sits on a cove, there are no people walking in front of the home.... just nature in all it's glory. The best snorkeling was right outside our door. We rented a couple of paddle boards and went frolicking right in the cove! The inside of the house was immaculate and very well appointed. We were provided a great big basket of fresh fruit and flowers as a welcome. Just fantastic! The greatest majority of private homes in Kauai have no air conditionning so I thought I might mention that we didn't miss it at all! In fact, it was such a delight to have the ocean breezes keeping us cool at night. I would definitely stay here again! Thanks, Tom, for sharing your magnificent home with us!

Tom, We just want to thank you for allowing us to use your beautiful beach home in Kauai. We stayed in luxurious resort hotels both at the beginning and end of our trip, but I think we all enjoyed the beauty and tranquility of your home the most. Kauai is an incredible island. We all enjoyed relaxing on the lanai, walking out to the cove to snorkel, and watching the turtles. We had our privacy, yet the proximity to restaurants, etc. was perfect. This trip will always be very special to our family, and your home will very much be part of that memory. Thanks again. July 2010
