This classic modern home was designed in 1969 by Robert J. Coles architect of the famous El Mirador Resort cottages (1928), the most fashionable resort of its day in Palm Springs, the playground of the rich and famous of the entertainment and industrial worlds. Adjacent to the famous Historic Palm Springs Tennis Club, this luxurious 3,400 square foot home was built as a private corporate retreat for high powered executives and their guests.
Just a 4 block walk to the center of town (Palm Canyon) where shopping, restaurants and nightlife abound, no need to drive. This particular area of Palm Spring is a low wind zone, nestled against the base of the mountains.
Four spacious bedrooms, all of equal size with large en suite bathrooms, plenty of closet space and each with private access to either the back patio pool/spa or the intimate fountain courtyard are at each corner of the house. All bedrooms and the Living Room are equipped with Flat Screen TVs with DVD players, house sound system with Ipod dock.
Privacy is key inside and out. The back patio features a classic oval swimming pool with separate spa, up close mountain views through scattered palms protected by thick stands of ficus and timber bamboo for your privacy.
Pool side dining area seats 8. The beautifully landscaped front courtyard features a cascade fountain and breakfast area that seats 6. This area is totally private, separated from the large circular driveway and quiet cul du sac by 6 foot walls and tall stands of timber bamboo giving a tropical feel, views of the surrounding palm trees and vertical mountains behind. The courtyard also features a gas barbeque area with easy access to the kitchen.
Uniquely this home offers privacy for the individuals in residence and at the same time the opportunity for them to congregate in large elegant common areas which flow naturally from inside to out. This home was built for entertainment.
A spacious great room with high vaulted ceiling, gas burning fireplace and plenty of glass looks out at pool, palm and mountain views, seated bar area communicates with the gourmet kitchen and looks onto the intimate courtyard fountain.
Furnished in a clean modern style with a hint of Asian influence, the atmosphere of peace, comfort, quality and luxury dominates. A large collection of original artwork adorns the walls. 600 thread count sheets, down pillows and comforters and spa quality towels are a just a hint of the amenities of bedroom/bath area to make your stay both comfortable and relaxing.
