  I really enjoyed staying here for my time in Sedona. It has a very functional kitchen, spacious bedroom, and nice furniture inside. It was located right in uptown, so i really liked to walk down to the action in town at sunset and grab a bite to eat or take some photos. The owner was a sweetheart, she had everything set up nicely for me when i arrived. It was a bit cool in the evening, but the space heaters warmed it up in a matter of minutes. I'd love to stay here again when i return.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

  We rented this adorable apt. for several days to take in some Sedona hiking & relax in the red rocks! The location is great as you can walk everywhere in the main section of town & to Tlaquepaque's shops,galleries & restaurants too. We found this little casita so comfortable with everything you need for your stay. The kitchen is small but has everything. They even had a blow dryer which was great since I forgot mine & an iron & ironing board. The king bed was very comfortable & we loved having all the movie channels to watch. Love,love the location & we will return as the weather was pefect in early March. Thank you Robin for being so helpful & sharing all the best restaurants in town & the scoop on all best hiking in Sedona. We will be back...

  Please read other negative comments in these reviews. I wish I had done so before renting the unit for two weeks. As others have said, this is a basement, low-light apartment and it is freezing in January. The owner claims it is fully heated by a portable quartz heater in the living room and a wall-mounted electric heater in the bathroom as well as forced air. Believe me it is not. And it is misrepresented as having forced air The rental is a converted basement/garage room. If you look at the picture you will see that you have to travel about 60 feet into a "cavern" that is the garage before you get to the unit. The owner would not leave the overhead light on in her garage, and entered the unit and shut off the light by the door multiple times. Returning at night to a totally blacked out area where you have to go 30 feet into pitch black to even get to a light switch is dangerous. Owners, when they rent have no legal right to enter the rental unless there is an imminent threat or danger. The owner entered numerous times, turning off the lights and heat, noting that I would be charged extra for electricity because I had left light and heat on while gone. Yes -it was still freezing. The owner demanded on Friday the 27th that I leave the next day at the end of the first week, but has not returned my rental fee for the second week. Per my lawyer, I should not have vacated until she reimbursed me. Owner claimed that I must have been smoking in the unit because she said she smelled smoke on two occasions and that is why I had to leave. I assured her that I did not smoke in, around or on her property to no avail. She also stated to me that she was going to charge me extra to clean her carpeting of smoke odors - it was disgustingly dirty when I arrived. These are all outside of the contract that I signed. Owner has now, deceptively, changed the ad on VRBO to show a 500 dollar fine and other charges for smoking. I am forced to file a court case against her for the cost of the 2nd week and additional costs I encountered in having to vacate. I expect that a default judgment will be rendered against her but small claims are notoriously hard to collect. A word to the wise - pass on this place. There are many other Sedona rental units where you are not going to encounter problems. VRBO is paying careful attention to this and any other complaints like this with regard to the owner

  Owner response: Attention future renters: Please disregard this review as this client smoked in my unit & was asked to leave! He also did a lot of damage to my apt & I had to cancel other renters from coming due to the shape he left my unit in! It has all been since repaired but as noted on line I do NOT rent to SMOKERS!!!   Positives - living room area nice. Bedroom large and spacious, large comfortable bed. Location great if you want to spend your time in the tourist area of Sedona. Neighbourhood very nice. Not so Positives - cold. As Feb and Mar temperatures can go to 30F heaters were required, however, the one heater for the livingroom did not work. Insulation very poor, and when they walked around upstairs it was very very loud in the apartment below. Owner too rushed to review how TV, gas stove worked, and where to find things in the kitchen or to give a lay of the land in Sedona. Kitchen supplies dirty and all over the place. took me 2 days to find the lid to the 1 pot in the kitchen. One burner on gas stove did not light, meaning the kitchen filled with gas when I tried to ignite it. Very unsafe. Microwave placed on top of the fridge. For those of us not tall, pulling hot food out of it was dangerous. Big holes in livingroom ceiling where there should have been heat register grates. Bathroom - facet leaks. Shower head needs to be replaced. The owner advertises that she takes Credit cards, but does not. For a Canadian, cash payment was a real hassle. I asked about pets in her house, cats specifically, because I have an allergy to cats, and she said there were no animals. This was not true, she had 2 dogs (one a barker) and 1 cat. Not good. This place could receive a good or even excellent rating if a little attention was paid to upgrading the kitchen equipment, attending to the obvioius home repairs, and providing the renter with instructions on how to use certain items, and an overview of Sedona. I believe this owner is really offering her place at a bare minimum expense to herself.

  Owner response: I'm so sorry you did not ask for help on how to work the additional heaters or if you had problems with the gas stove. I checked them out after your departure & they are working fine but you need to plug in the unit for it to work. I tried to show you how to use the direct TV but I was told you don't watch TV when I personally checked you in? I give every renter my biz & cell number in case they have any questions or concerns! I tried to give you information on where you can eat in Sedona as It's very limited being gluten intolerant here. Yes you asked me about pets being in my rental but not my personal home as there have never been pets in the rental unit as people are allergic to animals. My dog wears a bark collar when I have renters below so I make sure she does not disturb anyone but yes she barked when you came to my front door to ask if you could watch my amimals while I was in class. This was a very sweet gesture on your part but I did not want to impose on you but I guess I may have offended you. There is cental gas heat in my unit & AC as well but if you don't ask for assistance I can't help with with questions or concerns on how to work or move something to reach easier. I only wish you had called me & spoken up as I could of addressed your issues like finding the top to the pots & pans. The kitchen is small but fully stocked for what any cook would request as I own a Cafe. I take pride in anything I can do to help anyones stay more enjoyable here in Sedona.

  Me and my girlfriend took a trip to Sedona and chose to stay at this very lovely and homey apartment! In response to all of the negative reviews, I do not understand where they are even coming from. The owner was very helpful and extremely kind in helping us with anything we needed! And the apartment was a PERFECT romantic Sedona getaway home for two! Very quaint and cozy! Definitely recommend staying here, I know we will again!

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway.

  I had to respond to the other negitive reviews as this was not our experience! We loved the unit & it was quiet & clean! The location is terrific & the size for the price is great. The unit is very sunny & the carpets & windows were just cleaned before our arrival we were told. We had a family wedding in Tlaqueqaque & we walked everywere! What do people expect it's Sedona & we tought it was a great value. The bed was heavenly too!

  I wish that I had seen the previous review before we made arrangements to rent the "Casita" in summer of 2010. We were dismayed to discover that we had rented a daylight basement with an entrance from an underground garage. The photos do not accurately reflect this property ---- especially how dark it is inside.The unit still needs work (e.g. holes in ceiling, paint splatters in shower, a strange stone platform in a corner of the living area, etc) and we echo previous comments about cleanliness and spoiled food. The bed is very good. We experienced quite a bit of noise from the owners home above us. The positives of the unit are the location and price. This experience has taught us to be more critical & questioning when we select a rental in the future ..... and to always check the reviews first.

  This “Casita” is within close walking distance to the main downtown, and it was relatively inexpensive for this area. Otherwise my wife and I rate this among the worst VRBO's we have rented (out of about a half dozen total). It is basically a dark basement apartment with a few high windows that were so dirty it blocked most of the sunlight, and a front sliding door looking out to the garage. It was also cluttered with stuff, old food in the refrigerator, and not very clean.

  My husband and I visited recently for a cycling trip, we had a great stay! Plenty of room in kitchen for making our own meals. Very quiet and safe neighborhood (no need to lock doors, we left our bikes in the truck overnight, ect.) We walked everywhere we needed to go. Owners were very helpful w/directions, wi-fi info, anything we needed. If we return this is definitely our first choice for accomodations!

  Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, tourists without a car, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.
