My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay here. The pictures genuinely reflect the appearance and the rooms are actually larger than we were expecting. Another surprise was how quite it is to stay there because it is on one of the main thoroughfares into downtown Sonoma. We will most definitely stay here again, and I have highly recommended it to several of my relatives and friends as well. The owner was very helpful, the location is so convenient, not only to Sonoma square with its many fine restaurants, cafes, shops, etc. but also provides easy access to explore the many fine wineries nearby.

Had a wonderful stay at this location. Easily walkable to the downtown square and easy parking. Sadly the cable was out when we arrived but we entertained ourselves with the many board/card games that were provided at the house. Thanks for everything!

LOVED this place! The location was perfect - 2 blocks from the wedding venue and only a few blocks from the Square in Sonoma. Very spacious for the 3 of us staying there - well appointed kitchen, big bathrooms, comfortable beds, great linens - almost felt like home! Thanks, Terry, for meeting us late that evening and for the great recommendations for dinner. Definitely would stay here again!

What a great find! This apartment was clean, spacious and very well stocked with those little things that make a stay much nicer (things like coffee filters, dish soap, nice bath towels etc!) The bottle of wine in the fridge and the maps of the area were much appreciated. It was so nice to have a full kitchen as well as the living room area with the CDs and games. We would stay again!

Great apartment

We were in Sonoma for a long weekend for a wedding at a nearby winery. This was the perfect place to stay. We had 2 large bedrooms, large fully equipped kitchen, t.v. room, 2 large bathrooms for the same price as a nearby one room hotel. Everything was clean and comfortable. The apt. feels very luxurious as well as cozy. The only thing missing was an outdoor patio area. But, we were able to walk everywhere and enjoy the outdoors at the Sonoma Square. I would highly recommend staying here and will stay next time in Sonoma.

We travelled from the UK to Sonoma for a family wedding so we had friends and family in rental accommodation all over Sonoma. Our pick was Mary-Jeans Place and I have to say it was one of the best apartments. The apartment was clean, very spacious, well decorated and very comfortable with all the amenities you could require (including a Bose stereo with iPod/iPhone attachment!). There is one flight of stairs from the front door to the apartment straight into the large Kitchen area and the open plan living space. The lounge and dining area is spacious and airy with a hallway to the two excellent sized double bedrooms a huge family shower room and the additional benefit of a large en-suite shower room to the master suite. There was even a bottle of wine for us upon arrival! Mary-Jean and Terry have thought of everything and if we’re lucky enough to travel back to Sonoma we would definitely stay here again.

I had a wedding in Sonoma to attend so instead of booking two hotel rooms for the weekend for my family and I, I booked this property instead. Not only did I save money but I honestly made the whole experience much more enjoyable. It was very clean and spacious inside, making us feel right at home. We also loved having a nice big kitchen to make breakfast in every morning. You're located right near everything which is very convenient. Terry was exceptionally nice and great to deal with and as others have said he comes bearing alcoholic gifts! We had such a good time we are planning to come back on our own vacation and when we do, we'll be staying here!

Great place in Sonoma

This rental was great for a weekend away in Sonoma. It was clean, a short walk from Sonoma plaza, and spacious. The owners thought of all the little touches, and had CDs, DVDs, and games as well as a bottle of wine to welcome us. I definitely recommend this property. They are located right next to a bicycle shop where you can rent bikes and visit the wineries as well.

We had a great time staying at Mary Jean's place. We were visiting with another couple and it was the perfect accommodations to share...much more convenient and spacious than a hotel or B&B. Everything was immaculate, location was great - close enough to the plaza to walk, and easy to get to both Napa and Sonoma county wineries. Terry was super helpful right from the start, and Casey was easy to get a hold of when we arrived. We would highly recommend staying here and will consider again next visit.

Very nice place close to wineries and great food. I would highly recommend this nice flat to anyone going to Sonoma and remember Napa is for auto parts and Sonoma means wine!

Mary Jean's place is wonderful! The owners personally greeted us upon our arrival and made sure that we had everything that we needed. The house is exceptionally clean and the beds are VERY comfortable! Just a short walk to the Sonoma Square where you can enjoy great food, great wine and great people! Mary Jean's place comes highly recommended!!!

A hidden gem in Sonoma!

Mary Jean's Place was a wonderful setting for our vacation. In town for a wedding, we wanted a place that was comfortable for two couples. This upstairs flat is so spacious and immaculate - and actually seems bigger than pictured. Two large bedrooms and baths with all the amentities, large kitchen (with wine and wine glasses provided!!) and a large living room to relax in after a long day. Terry, the owner, is right downstairs and always available for a restaurant recommendation or directions. Location wise, we were close to everything - Sonoma wine country, Napa, Yountville - and close enough to the city by car. I would totally recommend this rental to anyone with a family or couples wanting a vacation. Dining options were abundant - we especially liked the Meritage Oyster Bar & Grille and Mama Tanino's for Italian. Of course, our landlord couldn't control the weather, but it was a wonderful 65-80 degrees - a welcome change from the Arizona heat in the summer. This was the first time I used VRBO, but if this experience is indicative of future ones, I will be using it again and again!! Thanks for a wonderful stay, Terry and Mary Jean.

Wow - Great Find

I found this VRBO rental and always go to the houses a bit nervous because pictures can be deceiving at times - but this was a a true hit with all 4 of us visiting Sonoma for the first time. It was easy to find, huge inside and very clean - with everything you would want in a rental. Hair dryer, coffee maker, board games, ipod dock / speakers, books and movies....It had it all. The bedrooms are spacious and the bathrooms really big too. One bedroom has the bathroom en suite while the other bathroom is down the hall a bit. Not a big deal to us as both were big, modern and clean. The kitchen was perfect for making breakfast and there are markets about 2 -3 miles away. We all thought the best part was that next door there was a doggie day care. We are all animal lovers and even though there were 12+ dogs each day, we never heard a peep out of them. The house is about a mile from the downtown restaurants and square. We found that we would drive to the restaurants for dinner, but one couple would walk back each night to get some air while the others drove the car back - it is on a main street and is really safe. I didn't ever see a cab in Sonoma but that may be an option if everyone wants to partake in the delicious wines at dinner (Use Terry's recommendation of Cafe Lahaye - the best place we ate on the whole trip). The house also had a great living room with plenty of chairs and couches for 4, and even though it was on a main road, the bedrooms are in the back so it was very quiet when it was time to sleep. I would highly recommend this as a rental. The washer and dryer was also appreciated, as was the dishwasher. Great job Terri and thanks for the great time we had in Sonoma - your place made it even better!

This VRBO was great. It was convenient, cozy, and all it said it was. Prices were reasonable. The owner has furnished and equipped it with all we needed. We certainly will go there again on our next visit.

As we drove up and parked in front of the Plumbing Shop we noticed the sign on the adjacent door "Mary Jean's Place upstairs". OMG, we thought, it's above a Plumbing Shop. Trepidatious, we were. Spacious, bright, charming, spotless and delightfully retro. A Superb Renovation with brilliant touches. All the conveniences including high-end stereo, great WiFi, TV and, of course, great plumbing fixtures. Terry and Mary Jean have created a true gem above their Plumbing Business. Re-furbished with style and only a short walk from the square, groceries and all the restaurants. All trepidation trampled. Two thumbs up. This will be Our place for future trips to Sonoma.

We had a wonderful stay! The apartment is very clean and nicely decorated with a mix of modern and antique furniture. We enjoyed having a kitchen to use for our breakfasts. The beds were very comfortable which is important after a long day of sightseeing and wine tasting. We had fun playing some of the games and enjoyed watching Bottle Shock. I would encourage anyone on a family vacation to stay here and hope that you love it as much as we did!

Just got home from our weekend stay at Mary Jean's place. It was a fabulous flat for us where my husband and I stayed with his mom for her 60th birthday. We absolutely loved the coziness it provided. I was very impressed how clean and updated everything was and the owners so welcoming and easy going. Check-in/Check-out was a breeze and Terry was great to work around our schedule. The walk to sonoma square is pleasant - a little less than a mile. Beds were super comfortable and we were delighted to be welcomed by a bottle a of vino to get our weekend started on the right stride! I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone considering - you won't be sorry!!

First time to Sonoma/Napa area and I couldn't have asked for better accommodations! This girl's getaway was one to remember and where we stayed played a big part! We had such a wonderful stay at Mary Jean's Place and felt right at home! The comfortable flat is spacious, super clean, and just a short walk to downtown Sonoma where we enjoyed incredible meals wine tasting, spa treatments, and a lot of shopping. This place is perfect if you have a big family gathering in Sonoma and need to share a place with several relatives. We really saved money by staying at Mary Jeans Place versus a hotel. Hotels in Sonoma can be so expensive and don't offer half the accommodations you'll find here. Trust me, you'll appreciate all the comforts of home, particularly the refrigerator. We stored great leftovers from some of the local restaurants. Check out Sonoma Plaza, which is right down the street. Would highly recommend Mary Jean's Place if you're visiting Sonoma/Napa area. If you can visit in the Fall...beautiful!
