View from deck looking north to Haystack Rock and Tillamook Head
Location: Falcon Cove, Northern Coast, Oregon, USA (7 miles north of Manzanita, 7 miles south of Cannon Beach)
Accommodations: Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Detached Unit, 1 Bath (Sleeps 6)
Keywords: Cabin
This 2 bedroom one bathroom family cabin was hand built by the present owners in the late 1950's. There is a cozy guest house next to the cabin with washer/dryer and another double bed. Over the years the cabin has been improved and restored to provide year round comfort, but still retains its rustic simplicity. It has a unique setting on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, with the wooded hills of Oswald West State Park behind. It is a stunning and wild setting, with little sense of other human presence. An American Bald Eagle nests nearby and flies over regularly. Mice and raccoons also visit.
A fifteen minute walk takes you to the secluded and often rocky Falcon Cove beach while a ten minute drive provides all the village pleasures of Manzanita and Cannon Beach.

The ocean view high atop this cabin is dazzling. The cabin is warmed by a wood burning stove and provides a cozy atmosphere to lounge or stare off at the waves. Enjoyed the hot tub while gazing up at the stars and listening to the sound of the surf echoing from the beach below. Dining at the San Dune in Manzanita, a few minutes down the road and driving back on the narrow, secluded road through the woods to the cabin at night . . . what a thrill! We highly recommend this treasure of a place to anyone looking for a unforgettable experience.

This review is a long time coming. My wife and I stayed there June of 2010. We were blown away by the views of beautiful Falcon Cove. The hot tub on the deck is a great feature. The cabin is very rustic, however it has everything you need. The surrounding forest comes right down to the property and everything feels very cozy and secluded. This vacation rental is a gem. I hesitated in writing this review for so long because frankly we don't want other people to know about this spot, but really everyone should be so lucky to experience it. Cheers!

In the course of my recreation and journalism along the Oregon Coast, I have traveled the coastline many, many times, and this wonderful cabin is situated in one the finest places I have ever seen. Anyone with even a remotely creative aspiration will find the cabin a wonderful place to relax, think and create. The view is stunning, the wood stove comforting, and the library eclectic. I've stayed here twice now and plan to return as often as time permits. If you are looking for something unique, hard core Oregon, and utterly unpretentious, this is the place for you.
