Surf City NC is particularly lovely in the "off-season" months of November though April. It is calm, quiet, brisk and beautiful. If you like long beach walks and peaceful white sands, consider spending your next weekend or holiday at Hana Kai.
Hana Kai means "house on the water" in Hawaiian. This uniquely designed spacious floor plan has a vaulted ceiling Great Room upstairs which features a large screened TV, DVD, expanded cable, CD/stereo, and VCR along with a gas fireplace. The bright red leather couch offers a wonderful place to sit and relax, eat, write, play games or have great conversation while admiring the panorama of colors in the sky. Or, step outside with a good book and catch some sun on one of the many deck chairs. Culinary lovers will enjoy the comfortable atmosphere of having a kitchen bar area, full dining table, plus a bonus breakfast nook with a street side balcony. Techie folks will enjoy wireless high speed internet access and a TV with remote control in every bedroom.
Two King master suites have sliding glass doors onto an exterior ocean side deck, inviting you so slip outside for a few quiet moments. Other bedrooms include a Queen suite (upstairs next to the Great Room), an additional Queen room, and two Singles, all with ceiling fans and beautifully decorated in tropical theme. Below, Hana Kai has covered parking for up to four vehicles and offers an enclosed basement entryway. There is also a beach access and hot/cold outside shower below.
After you have finished your auau kai (swim,) prepared your luau(feast,) and strolled on the sandy kahakai (beach,) there is still plenty to do on Topsail Island. You can kayak or sail on the Topsail Sound and catch one of the most breathtaking napo'o'ana (sunsets) you have ever seen. Charter fishing boats head out of Topsail Beach and Sneads Ferry (a fishing village about 25 miles away) daily. The island is on 22 miles wide north to south, perfect for running and biking. You are minutes from the North Shore Country Club Golf Course (voted Best Places to Play 2008/2009 Golf Digest Magazine/Stars.) Or, try Castle Bay Golf Course in Hampstead, NC, which features a challenging yet beautifully manicured grass course woven into the area's protected wetlands.

Owner Description
We built Hana Kai, and it's sister house next door Hana Hou, in 2003, because we love Topsail Island! We have a large family that loves the water and we spend as much time as we can on Topsail. We are the sole owners of the house and have tried to take very good care of it.
Why the Owner Chose Surf City
What's the most beautiful thing about Topsail? It's a toss-up between the sunrises and the sunsets.
