We came in the dark, so it was a little challenging to find the driveway other then that directions were spot on. The cabin was perfect for the 5 of us. Very homey feel. It snowed when we were there and that made it all the more special. Just when I thought they didnt have something I needed, I would find it! Plenty of dishes, not enough space for your own food. I cannot think of a single thing to complain about. Would love to stay again.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

We had a small group of friends stay in the cabin and had a great time -- Cooking, Relaxing in the hot tub, Playing foosball and games. There were plenty of amenities and beds for all. The owners were very helpful and responsive answering questions before our arrival and it was very clean and well kept. It's great for a relaxing rural escape.Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, families with young children.

What a lovely cabin. It is sited beautifully with a meadow between the river and the house. It has a great layout inside with bedrooms upstairs and down. The dining table on the deck overlooking the river was the central place for all of us--whenever we weren't out hiking. We're cooks, so the kitchen's wonderful setup was much appreciated. But most importantly it is a beautiful location with meadows all around, the river endless and the mountains in the near distance. Thank you for being so helpful in arranging our plans. There were 6 adults in our party and to a person everyone said it was a place they would love to return to. And, perhaps the biggest vote came from the 4 year old son who said he didn't want to leave. Inside and out, it is a magical place and we hope to return.Recommended for: Pet owners, age 55+, romantic getaway.

I would highly recommend Alpine River Hideaway. Everything was quick and easily arranged and the owner provided very clear instructions and lots of useful area information. We spent time sledding with our kids and hanging out in the hot tub. The location was beautiful! The house was decorated lovely and very cozy. We really hope to return in either summer or winter!Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

We absolutely loved your cabin! What an incredible spot; right on the river, beautiful rolling hills covered in snow, the picturesque old barn, the thrilling sledding hill....what can I say you have it all covered! You have thought of all the right touches for the house too! We all loved the fireplaces...especially our dog Shimmie. She would come in from playing in the snow and curl up right in front of them! She didn't even want to leave when we were packing up on Monday! I learned how to play foosball...and got my butt kicked! Thank you so much for letting us stay at your wonderful house. My husband and I fell in love with the area and want to find a piece of land or a cabin to fix up. We will definitely be back...hopefully this summer with more friends to share such an amazing place. Thanks again, ErinDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a wonderful time at the Alpine River Hideaway house for Thanksgiving. The property is outrageously beautiful and we were able to play in the snow, hike around the property, shop in Leavenworth, make a fabulous dinner for Thanksgiving, and spend some great time with our closest friends. We also took copious photos in the snow and look forward to getting them framed for family members. Thanks again for the beautiful place to stay! We had such a wonderful experience from beginning to end at the Alpine River Hideaway! Shannon was easy to work with, answered all my questions about the cabin prior to us arriving, gave us local information, and is already sending back my security deposit. The cabin itself is beautiful and our group had a great time; we were comfortable, like it was our home away from home. On our last day, we walked down to the river which was in the backyard and enjoyed the beautiful sounds of the river and birds chirping. We've already talked about coming back in the Winter! Thanks again Shannon!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Salmon fishing on the Wenatchee River! View on map
The Wenatchee River has long been regarded as one of the best fly fishing steelhead streams in Washington State, but it has been closed for more than a decade. It is open from Leavenworth down to the confluence of the Columbia River in Wenatchee. We like to refer to this trip as "steelhead fishing in the Alps" due to the amazing mountainous backdrops and the Bavarian feel of the Leavenworth area. The only thing better than steelhead fishing, is steelhead fishing followed by some great German food and a stout ale in Leavenworth. If you want an outfitter to guide you, we have that option available also. http://www.leavenworth.org/modules/pages/?pageid=93&path=9|93
