Exquisite comfort. The only thing exceeding the quality of the home is the quality of the view. Relax in elegance in our newly remodeled oceanfront home on the Mendocino coast or use it as a base to visit the many local attractions. Listen to the Pacific Ocean while you barbecue or view the stars while sitting in the hot tub in the evening. View soaring sea birds at eye level. Autumn and spring bring the whales offshore on their annual migrations. You are an easy drive to some of the best restaurants on the coast and 5 to 10 minutes to groceries, pharmacies, movies and shopping. Noyo harbor also has some very fine restaurants or you can book whale watching & deep sea fishing trips - just minutes away.
Vacation year-round, as the home is kept comfortable with cool ocean breezes in the summer and gas fireplace and Monitor heater during the winter months. And, if you are at the house at the right time, you can watch the beauty of winter storms from the comfort of our fully furnished home.
From the most elegant halogen light fixtures, a chef's dream of a kitchen (fully equipped), tasteful original artwork, extensive slate floors & abundant skylights, this home offers features not found in other short-term rentals. The bathroom tile work alone is beyond compare and is complemented by the upscale plumbing fixtures. The kitchen features stainless appliances, granite countertops, wine & drink cooler, produce pantry & crisper, two food prep sinks, commercial gas range, 2 ovens, microwave & built in dinette with matching granite countertop.
The floor-to-ceiling living & dining room windows gaze out to fabulous Hare Creek Bay where you can watch local surfers, birds & whales (Dec-Mar). Take a short walk to the beach - this is the only home in the area that has a deeded access to the beach via a spectacular brick stairway through a eucalyptus grove. Perched 30 feet above the bay, the southwest facing views take full advantage of sunlight throughout the year. Relax, refresh & reflect - 'A New World' awaits you!

We flew from Delaware to visit with my husband's four siblings and several of their spouses for a family reunion...our first get-together with each other in several years. "A New World" was truly "another world" for us, the perfect retreat away from the stresses of everyday life. It is a peaceful, stunning, private location surrounded by nature and beauty everywhere you look. While there are attractions and activities nearby, we barely left the house during our three days there. It was so peaceful. We saw whales, seals, ospreys, turkeys, and geese. We walked the beach. We visited as a family and never once turned on the TV, barely used computers...there was so much to watch just looking out the expansive windows towards the sea. The house is beautiful and comfortable, and well supplied with everything one might need. This is a wonderful place to stay, and we all hope to return again. Thank you for sharing this little bit of heaven with others. This is the first time we ever rented through VRBO, and it was a very positive experience.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My wife and I rented this property at Ft. Bragg and could not have been happier. The home was built by nenown home builder, Joseph Eichler. We enjoyed the home so much that we only visited Mendocino for a few hours shopping and dinner one day. We could not wait to get back to the house. The "commercial" kitchen was a pleasure to work in and we ended up haveing most of our meals there. The yard was almost a stones throw from the ocean with an easy trail access. Our morning walks on the beach were a highlight to our stay. We even had whale's spouting just a few hundred yards from shore on one afternoon. It was paradise and we are already looking foreward to a repeat next spring!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our family group (4 adults, 1 kid) really enjoyed this spot. It's peaceful, down an unpaved road, with a great view of the ocean outside big glass windows. We were hoping to spot whales, but luck was not with us. The place is about a 5-minute drive from Fort Bragg. The only snag was that the Internet didn't work during our stay--possibly because it was knocked out by storms the night before--and it couldn't be quickly fixed. But presumably, that's an anomaly -- and who needs the internet anyway in such a beautiful spot? We may go back sometime.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

"A New World" is everything that it is advertised to be, and more! The house is exquisitely comfortable and warm and was perfect for a winter get-away. Every detail is thought of: there's a warm fireplace, comfortable bedding, and luxurious bathrooms. Although only my husband and I stayed in the house, it would also be perfect for a larger group, and I could easily see us here with another family, talking and drinking wine while we prepared dinner in the wonderfully designed open kitchen. We do a lot of home/condo rentals, and typically I find myself re-designing the homes in my head, thinking, "this would be perfect if only..." But this place...no mental re-design needed, in fact, I want to incorporate some of the details of this rental in my own home! The location is great, too; we enjoyed discovering Ft. Bragg, Mendocino, and the wonderful wineries of the Anderson Valley. My only regret is that we could not bring our little dog; the house is very pet friendly, but it appears the owners have had some bad experiences with careless owners. I hope this policy might be reconsidered, perhaps for a an extra deposit. My doggie would have loved walking on the beach and laying by the fire (or sleeping on the warm bathroom tiles). Regardless, we will return!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We just love this home and view. Our father needs a wheelchair to get around, so being so close to the ocean (in the comfort and warmth of a home), made this trip even more special. He felt like he was right out there. Amazing views of white water crashing. It stormed our first day there, and we truelly enjoyed watching the storm through the huge windows. My favorite time is at night when we turned out all the lights in the house and watched the moonlight dance across the waves. Beautiful home, spectacular scenery. We watched a dear eating the grass a mere few feet in front of the windows. This was our second stay and we will be returning again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My husband and I had a wonderful time here for our 25th wedding anniversary. We were able to really relax with such an amazing view and wonderful house that had everything we could need. We enjoyed a visit to Glass Beach and also had a nice walk on the beach below the house too. The house was so comfortable and our small dog had a blast running around in all that space. Anything you might need is within a short drive and a can't miss is Mendocino, it's beyond beautiful and a great place to walk and check out all the cute stores.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

Our stay at "A New World" in Fort Bragg was about as good as it gets. The property is gorgeous. The view is spectacular. The home is drop-dead beautiful, amazingly comfortable and immaculate. The owners are wonderful to deal with. We will not think twice about renting this home again or referring family and friends. An overall perfect experience!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

What an amazing, peaceful retreat we found at " A New World". Michelle & Lynda were very helpful with my questions & concerns. Even with last minute changes. We loved cooking in the well appointed kitchen. Perfectly located near the Botanical Gardens, Point Cabrillo Lighthouse & both Mendocina & Ft. Bragg. We didn't bring a dog, but they are dog friendly. We will be back next year!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
