We can't wait to come back again!!!! The property was perfect in every sense of the word. Cabin is well maintain & stocked with everything necessary and most important clean!!! My kids 9 & 17 truly enjoyed it (hard to please a teenage girl) and cannot wait till we go back in warmer weather to enjoy all the activities we didn't get around to due to the snow :) Karen, can't wait to be back again!! Thank you for sharing your wonderful piece of heaven.

Relaxing Spring Break!

My elderly parents, older sister, 2 young children (4 & 8), and I spent a week here for Spring Break. We had a great time! I was a little nervous when I saw the size of the kitchen, but we truly had everything we needed! We did cheat a little by bringing paper plates to minimize washing the dishes...but that was just so we could have more time to play cards and games. We made breakfast and dinner nearly every day and packed our lunches on the days we took hikes to the local waterfalls. Our family made use of the hot tub, card games, and board games provided. The kids wandered around the woods and played in the creek (even though it felt like ice water). We used the fireplace once for smores since it was too cold to hang out by the fire pit. One morning we even saw a herd of 15-20 deer walk through the forest and cross the creek. Did I mention that the pillows and blankets were super fluffy? Karen was the first person to call me when I requested additional information and kept in touch with me every step of the way. Overall, we had a wonderful experience!

Perfect!

My husband and I just needed a weekend away. The cabin was more than we could have expected! It was secluded and private but only a few minutes from town. Every room was clean and decorated to feel comfortable. We had everything we needed! The weather was rainy and uncooperating, however, we were perfectly content just being in the cabin, sitting on the porch swing or by the fire, or in the hot tub listening to the creek babble below. At night we fell asleep to the rain falling on the tin roof! We will definitely visit again!

Man oh Man! we loved it! The minute we got there we were sad because we knew we would have to leave. We went horseback riding at Step Above Stables for only 30 bucks a piece & my daughter rode with me. We loved it. Went to Vogal State Park and hiked to the water fall. We got fire wood and relaxed by the fire. My daughter picked up "sparkly rocks," as she calls them, by the creek and brought them home. We also ate some local food and sat in the jacuzzi and relaxed. It was much needed and we loved it. We stopped at a trading post nearby and got some local honey as well as fudge. We enjoyed playing air hockey with the little one. We just loved this stay. The cabin and visit was totally awesome. We will come back for sure. I want to go back in the summer and jump in the creek and enjoy the water. Merry Christmas, Carson and Family

Owner response: One of the wonderful thing about Bear Creek Lodge is its location! We are on a peaceful secluded road just outside of town and very close to restaurants and outdoor activities. But if you are looking to stay close, then the cabin has many things to enjoy from the hot tub, to to the babbling creek right out the back door. You will find it difficult to leave but remember you are always welcomed back! See you soon!

Peaceful retreat!

We really enjoyed our short stay at this cabin. It was very peaceful and relaxing with the sound of the rushing creek behind the cabin. The cabin itself was very cozy and warm and had everything we needed. It looks exactly like the pictures that are posted. It is close to many things to see & do, such as Vogel State Park, Brasstown Bald, Helton Creek Falls, Mercier Orchards, so was the ideal location for us. The owner was very nice and helpful with providing info on things to do & see and good directions to the cabin. Would recommend staying here if you're looking for something in this area.

Our time away at Bear Creek Lodge was WONDERFUL,FANTASTIC,UNBELIEVIBLE,and most of all RELAXING! Bear Creek Lodge is perfect for a couple or a family.Barb has thought of everthing.It is very cozy yet spread out.There just isn't enough time in the day to properly enjoy Bear Creek Lodge!

Barb and Todd, Thank you so much for sharing your cabin with us. We had a wonderful time with great friends and the cabin was just icing on the cake. We loved the realxation of the hot tub in the evenings and the peacefulness of sitting on the porches in the swings and listening to rushing creek waters. It was nice sitting in the screened in section and eating all of our meals while listening to nature. We even made some friends with the humming birds and saw three deer crossing the streams. Our friends that went us, the lady is from Germany but she has been in the states for about 20 years and has never been to the mountains. She fell in love with them. We took her to Helen which she enjoyed but she really liked the big mountains over at the Smokies. She also said that she would return and take her daughter who also has never been to see the mountains. Again thank you for a wonderful relaxing time with friends.

Rest and Relaxation (R&R)

If R&R(Rest and Relaxation) is what you need, then this is the place to be. My trip to Blairsville was wonderful....it was sooo beautiful, and peaceful. The view is spectacular!!! The cabin is very spacious and clean. The porches are very nice(swings and sitting area) and we ate outside in the covered patio most of the time. The gas grill was a plus and appreciated. The cabin is nestled and secluded giving optimal privacy, however; you can get back into town with ease within 10 minutes. We visited Vogel state park to hike the trails and ride the pedal boats. We also came back to the cabin to relax and just enjoy the calmness and peace of our surroundings. To see the beauty of nature-God's paint brush--was absolutely amazing; the mountains are everywhere.I would recommend this cabin to anyone that needs to just slow down from the rush of the big city, de-stress,and enjoy life a little. I brought my mom here as part of her birthday gift. She loved it!!! She did not want to leave stating that this was the best birthday that she has ever had and was sad to leave so soon. The only thing I would do different about the cabin would be to stay longer. Thanks for sharing your cabin with us :)

We enjoyed the stay at Cabin immensely. The setting is beautiful and the cabin is comfortable. Easy to find and get to. Close enough to Blairsville and state parks to make it easy to venture out. Hot tub was clean and ready for us when we got there. Great porches with swings and wonderful view of the creek. Best I can tell, there are no fish in the creek but it is still fun to listen to it run. I will go back again.

Holiday Hideaway!

We had a wonderful stay, Thank-you so much! We spent 3 nights between Christmas and New Years, The house is fairly new, very clean and well kept, fully equipted with everything you will need to feel right at home. The house is divided and spaced enough that 7 of us, 2 seniors, 2 college kids, and 3 kids, 9-13 all had enough space. We enjoyed the creek flowing in the back yard, There are a few scattered homes around. Built in the middle of the woods, overlooking the creek feels like you are far away from others, especially after driving down the long narrow road which leads up to it. The owner was quck to reply to us and gave us some helpful information. We took a trip to Mercier Groves in Blue Ridge and bought a variety of apples, cider, and goodies. The mountains surrounding the area are beautiful.We would definately recommend this cabin to a friend.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at your cabin. The temperatures were perfect, so we really used the porch swings and rocking chairs alot!! Having coffee in the mornings outside was one of my favorite times. So peaceful and hearing the sound of the creek was perfect. We saw the beavers, and then deer in the fields in the distance. This cabin is the perfect family getaway. So quiet, yet so close to town. I hope we find time to stay here again. Barb is also VERY FRIENDLY to work with and quick to respond to any question you have. Thank you again Barb! We loved being here!!!!

This was one of the best rental experiences we have EVER had. Barb, the owner, is the sweetest lady and could not be more friendly and accommodating. Her cabin is just as warm and inviting as she is! We had a wonderful trip with our family and it was very relaxing getaway. It feels like a cabin nestled in the trees, but the cabin is incredibly, clean, tidy and comfortable. 5 STARS all the way!

High school friends from 40 years ago all met at Bear Creek Lodge for a few days of relaxation and fun. The cabin was wonderful, very warm and inviting. We greatly enjoyed our fall mountain escape to the North Georgia mountains. Barb was so sweet and helpful in planning our trip! The cabin was in the perfect location for touring the surrounding cities and parks. Our children delighted in catching trout in the creek and gathering rocks in woods. The setting is so peaceful and relaxing...We loved the hot tub, babbling creek, porch swings, and privacy. It was a wonderful place to unwind and relax for a few days!

What a relaxing beautiful setting! Enjoyed the gentle sound of the creek from the porch, the fire by the creek and the hot tub. The cabin is easy to get to and close to everything. Waterfalls, parks, shopping, hiking, tubbing, horseback riding and just site seeing. All the amenities you could need. Thanks for sharing your little piece of heaven!

The Perfect Secluded Cabin

My wife and I just returned from 3 wonderful days/nights at your amazing cabin. The word "secluded" in the VRBO description of this place does not do it justice. This cabin is truly secluded. At the very end of a gravel road, the cabin sits right on a beautiful creek. From the back of the wrap-around porch you can see nothing but beautiful scenery....not another cabin or person. Yet this cabin is only 10 minutes or less from downtown Blairsville. We drove our little convertable Miata and enjoyed 3 days of mountain roads. From Young Harris (we highly recommend Brasstown Valley Resort for dinner) to Helen (we spent 4 hours in Viele Margarita's enjoying a cold beverage or two and watching the tubers float past) to Blue Ridge (the back roads are amazing there) and everything in-between, our little convertable took us wherever we wanted to go for the morning and early afternoon. Then we were very happy to return to the cabin to finish out each day. The creek behind the cabin was beautiful and refreshing!! The gas grill worked perfectly. The cabin has everything you could possibly need for a night......or a week. And the 3-night discount on the nightly rate made it even more appealing. Several grocery stores are only 10 minutes away. The cabin is plenty big enough for two families.....and small enough for a cozy, romantic weekend. We will be back!!!

Perfect Week in the Mountains!

This cabin is awesome!!!! It is well appointed, comfortable, private, and most of all, quiet. The main reasons I chose this cabin were the swings and the creek...they did not disappoint. It is decorated just right...cute and cozy. Loved the basement room too...a great getaway if you want to watch TV while others want quiet upstairs, or visa-versa. Picture this... sitting in the hot tub as the sun sets, and watching the lightening bugs appear...felt like a kid again! Having morning coffee on the swing as the birds awake, was so relaxing. Everyone in the town was nice. A few highlights of the area... Vogel State Park and falls, Unicio State Park, Anna Ruby Falls hike, and Crane Creek Vineyards...beautiful, picturesque setting! Do not hesitate to rent this cabin. You will not be disappointed :)

Awesome Mountain Cabin!!

This cabin was such a great hit- we will definitely be back!! Two families shared this cabin and we had more than enough space. This was a last minute decision to stay and Barb made it sooooo very easy!! It was so nice to sit on the porch swings and listen to the creek and animals!!!! We all enjoyed the hot tub- the kids said the creek was too cold to play in! They are city boys-lol :))) The drive to the cabin from "town" is only about 10 mins but you think that you are hours away from civilization when at the cabin. The cabin is also well stocked with the necessities- garbage bags, flashlights, roasting skewers for marshmallows and the sort, washer and dryer, plenty of linens, lots of pots and pans, dishes, we had everything we needed... we only brought food and clothes!! I would recommend this cabin to ANYONE!! The owner is great- she provided friendly and fast accomodations- last minute mind you!! She even called that evening to make sure we arrived safely with no problems. I forgot my daughter's blanket in the cabin after we left and she is having it mailed to me!! Super sweet lady - Barb is great! Thank you so much for your TRUE southern hospitality!! I feel like I've made a friend....

This cabin was a delightful place for our family of five (three teenagers + two parents) to getaway for a break. We all found the accommodations comfortable and clean and cozy. The fire pit was well used for an evening campfire and to make smores of course. We cooked in a lot and found everything we needed to do so. We lucked out with amazing weather (warm for January). Owner very helpful in setting up this trip and dealing with our reservation. We highly recommend this cabin and its beautiful location.

Great Weekend

We (6 of us) attended a wedding at Southern Tree Plantation and styed in this great cabin. After a long day of driving, we arrived at night, following the excellent directions provided by the owner, around the winding, narrow road leading up to the cabin. The welcome sight of the lights left on for us in our cabin brought a sigh of relief from us all. We had a too brief stay in this comfortable cabin, enjoying the sounds and sights of the creek and the beautiful surroundings. The owner could not have been more personable or helpful in reserving the cabin and answering all our questions. (Thanks, Barb--I feel like I have made a new friend!) The cabin was clean and guest-ready when we arrived, and an item left behind was found and mailed to us immediately. We would not hesitate to recommend Bear Creek Lodge and all its bears to anyone looking for a quiet, restful, fun place to stay. I especially loved the swings! My family had a wonderful time! The creek is amazing and so close to the home. My son caught several fish. Very comfortable. Loved the swings on the porches. Made a fire in the pit and had smores. Great time and would visit again.

Perfect place to relax!

We had a wonderful weekend in your cabin! It was a perfect place for our whole family to relax. My kids spent hours in the creek, playing air hockey and LIFE. I enjoyed lots of time reading on the porch while listening to the creek. We also loved the hot tub on the back porch! We ate all our meals on the screened porch. The beds were comfy and there was plenty of space for our family of 5 to spread out. Thanks again for all your help. We ended up eating dinner on Friday at the Comfort Cafe in town. The food was really good and the prices were very reasonable. We also drove over to Helen and took the kids tubing. At $3/person, you can't beat it! We'll definitely keep you in mind for a future trip to North Georgia. I'd love to get up there in the fall & spring.

Mothers Day Weekend 2010

We stayed 3 nights with our two boys and had a wonderfull time. The boys loved the basement with their own bed, air hockey and DVD/TV. The cabin was very close to town but far away to be remote at the end of a gravel road. The nights were cool and s'mores were perfect by the fire. The cabin was well equiped with wood for a fire, long skewers for marshmallows and extra propane for the grill. The wrap around porch was nice with its own screened in table that we ate on every night. The hot tub was nice after a long hike. The stream in the back yard was peacefull and fun for the boys to play around. We go tot he mountains at least 3 times a year and this was a great location to do a lot of hiking and river rafting. We recommend this cabin to anyone planning a trip to No. Ga. Roxane and Don Oldsmar, Fl

Fantastic getaway!

The cabin had EVERYTHING that we were looking for: serenity, places for the kids to run around and explore, serenity, nearby hikes, serenity, firepit to enjoy some S'mores , serenity! We thoroughly enjoyed spending time by the creek and making a fire in the firepit in the evenings. We spent the days hiking some waterfalls, taking a tour of a gold mine, and shopping at the Alpine Village of Helen. Thanks Barb for all your help! We have MANY fabulous memories at your cabin. I'll be happy to give a personal reference whenever one is needed. Jeanette and Juan

The cabin was great!!! We have tried several cabins over the past several years, and this is the first one that we know we want to visit again. It had everything we were looking for, and we loved the way it was situated with the creek nearby, some open area, and some woods all convenient for playing in. It snowed a good bit, and my daughter was in heaven. It was the first time she had ever seen any real snowfall and accumulation. She couldn't get over it and kept saying how amazing it was.

Barb - we had a terrific time at your cabin. It snowed (ok, I guess it was a dusting) while we were there and the temperature was in the low 40's most days - perfect! The people in town were warm and friendly and we enjoyed the varied restaurants. It was a much needed rest from the "real" world for all of us. Personally, I found it difficult to leave. Thanks again!!

I cannot put into words what a great time we had at the cabin. It was so peaceful to be able to open the window and hear the flow of the creek in the background during our stay. We stayed the third weekend of October 09 and utilized the cabin as a home base as we enjoyed the many mountain festivals within driving distance. We have stayed at other cabins before but have never stayed at one that was so accomodating with many little extras included. We've already discussed coming back in the Summer with our kids so they can enjoy the creek!

We are back home safe in Orlando. This was one of the best vacations we ever had. The bike ride up and back was great. No rain, we timed it just right. Thank you again for workng with me on such short notice. Everything was great in the house and the backyard was just as beautiful as Vogel State Park. The cabin made us very comfortable from the moment we arrived. A big plus was the leaves this year, the best color we have seen in five years of vacationing in North Georgia. It was wonderful wakeing up and looking over the deck to see each day just how much more beautiful each day was. It was so hard to leave. We hope to visit again .... Patty and David

It was AWESOME! We loved it and wouldn't change a thing. We already talked about when we wanted to go back. My parents came by and they loved it too. They have even told their friends how great it was. You will probably be getting lots of buiness from us. The creek was great and we loved the hot tub. Thanks again for a wonderful family trip. Thank you for sharing your cabin with our family. We had a great time in the Georgia mountains! The creek was wonderful and the perfect temperature. The peacefulness of the cabin and the atmosphere is exactly what was needed!

I am so glad I finally got to come up and stay in your cabin! It was very lovely listening to the rushing of the creek at night, cooking over a camp fire under the stars, playing in the creek and soaking in the hot tub. The girls enjoyed running the woods and creek. We will definitely be back!

A wonderful place for a relaxing vacation--the photos don't do it justice! Very private and secluded, everything you need (including an outdoor grill), top quality furnishings, games, dvds, satellite TV, even a washer/dryer and double oven! We loved the fireplace, the outdoor swings, and the sound of the creek. No hotel could possibly be better! Thanks for a great stay!

We had a wonderful time at Bear Creek Lodge! You have everything you need in this cabin. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the dishes, pans and utensils that you need. There are porches upstairs and down. We enjoyed sitting their looking out at the water. There is an eat in screen porch, a fire pit, hot tub and satelite for great tv viewing. The cabin is located at the end of the road so the setting could not be better. You have privacy, woods, and water. Thanks for a great weekend getaway Bear Creek Lodge. We can't wait to come back.

We loved your cabin! We ate eggs and bacon on the porch and enjoyed sunsets on the swings! The space is so cozy and beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Bear Creek Lodge gave us the week-end we needed! P.S. This was the first time I told her that I loved her!

This is such a beautiful place! I had one of the best times here. It has a homey feeling and the cabin is extravagent. I couldn't have been happier and I am sad toleave.
