Sample Testimonial: "We all had a great vacation. 'Shore Acres' accommodated all thirteen of us with ease. The kayaks were very popular. There were many trips back and forth to Tern Island. On some trips down toward the fishing pier the boats and their occupants were accompanied by the harbor seals. You know the week was a success when the children ask if we can come back again next year prior to leaving."

Better Than A Luxury Hotel

I think I can speak for everyone that the house was terrific - we all enjoyed it very much - even though some of the weather was rainy. Plenty of room, every convenience we could ask for, and just a perfect place for a large family and friends to gather. Very relaxing in a way even a luxury hotel could not begin to compare. (would love to know the history on the place as we had many folks circling with speculation on the architectural progress over the years - the property is like a nature preserve - full disclosure... we picked a bag of Asian Pears to cook a desert!). Ryder Cove Marina worked out great for the boat so thanks for that recommendation - they actually had a slip for us which was even easier. I would highly recommend them as well. My wife and I had a chance to take a last cruise out to the ocean on Monday past the seals and Chatham Light before we headed for the long ride home - and the weather was perfect. The Wedding Ceremony at St. Joan of Arc in Orleans and the Reception at Chatham Bars Inn were fabulous - and the Bride and Groom are safely in Bermuda enjoying their Honeymoon. I recommend this property enthusiastically and hope to get a chance to visit again in the future.

The Private Beach was Fantastic!!

We had a wonderful time at this beach house this past week. The layout of the house was perfect for our mix of early birds and late sleepers. The family room closest to the driveway became our gathering spot for morning coffee, movies and Trivial Pursuit evenings. The private beach was fantastic. We managed to have 3 good weather days to make full use if it, including camp fires on our first and last nights. This was our first family reunion vacation. We had a great time and this house was a key element for us.

We had an absolutely wonderful week. We had plenty of room to spread out in the house and everything we needed was right there. Irene helped keep the crowds away and the temperatures perfect. It was a wonderful week. The location is ideal and we wish we were still there!

We really enjoyed our stay in Chatham.....the house was perfect for our Brady Bunch.... Everything we needed was there, including lobster crackers and picks, and we lacked for nothing.... The best part was that we have 4 adult children with spouses and grandchildren and everyone had their own space.....we even had a "media center" in the large family room where everyone could hook up their ipods, iphones, computers, etc... and work from the Cape. We enjoyed the kayaks and found the location just perfect!

We spent a very memorable week at this beautiful home. It was a very special week for my husband and his family!!! When I asked my husband last year what he wanted to do for his 50th birthday he replied, "I just want to spend time with my family!" Well, we spent time together kayaking with the seals (WOW what an experience!!), sitting on the beach, shopping, walking on the beach, eating and drinking wonderful meals, playing games, watching movies, attending the 4th of July parade, and celebrating July 4th night with a bonfire on the beach, watching fireworks all around us!!! The house was supplied with everything we needed and more. It was everything we had hoped for and would love to return very soon!!

Second Delightful Stay at Property

Our second year in Chatham was again delightful. Our children from California get to bond with the rest of us one special week a year. My wife and I enjoy our three children with their spouses and our 8 grandchildren ages 3 to 15. The three youngest girls (6,7 & 8), share the bedroom off the kitchen. From day one they plan their song and dance show which has become a last night highlight of our stay. (translation: better than last year) On Saturday grandpa cooked hamburgs and hot dogs. Everyone tolerated my cooking because they knew things would get better when the real cooks took over. We enjoyed cooking.... making full use of the great kitchens and outdoor grilling provided at the house.Fajitas with Margaritas; Swordfish, Clams, Shrimp; Barbecued Steak and Chicken; Pasta with a variety of shapes and sauces were on the fabulous menus. However one night we all split up to take advantage of the restaurants in Chatham. Harding's and Nasuet beach provided nice days away but we enjoyed the kayaking, fishing and our nighttime bonfire cooking marshmallows on our own private beach. In between, the young ones took a 16 mile bike ride and we ( the eldest) walked to town several times. At the end, the week went too fast. The hardest thing to do was to say goodbye.......

Our three generations thoroughly enjoyed this property. The kayaks were very popular and used every day. We loved sitting out in the back yard where the kids could play and we could relax. We usually ate out there. We thought the house was amazingly equipped. We liked that there was room for all 14 of us, no matter where we were. There was good flexibility for the sleeping arrangements, all comfortable. We enjoyed trying to figure out the history of the house and how it grew. The house is convenient to almost any attraction. Our favorite public beach was Hardings Beach. Great waves for the kids. My husband and I enjoyed walking down the path from the house and sitting by the water. We had breakfast down there a couple of times.

We recently returned from this lovely and well appointed home from a 3 day weekend celebrating our 50th birthdays with 6 other couples. The house is "sprawling" with every amenity you could ask for. There was plenty of room for us to gather and share many laughs and good times. There are 2 kitchens, fully stocked which made preparing food for all of us very easy. The house was very clean, plenty of towels were provided for bathing and the beds (many) were comfortable. The back yard is very large, great for back yard games for children or large families with plenty of seating. 2 grills for out door cooking and 2 picnic tables also. The hammock on a sunny day should not be missed! The ocean and beach are directly across the street and while it was too cool for us to sit and spend time, we all were able to walk the beach. The downtown of Chatham is within walking distance and also the fish pier. Margaret was very easy and efficient to deal with and kept in touch via email as needed and available by phone 24/7. This house is perfect for large groups or a few families to share. You will not be disappointed!

We can't say enough wonderful things about our stay at this beautiful vacation property. We enjoyed everything!! It was a perfect fit for our large families (20 people strong!) and a surprise 70th birthday celebration! The property is HUGE, absolutely charming, in a perfect location, with its own beach and walk to downtown. It has all the amenities you could possibly want or need. We loved it and recommend it without hesitation. Sweet family time!
