Can you imagine an old fashioned Thanksgiving or Christmas celebration with your family in an 1890’s home with woodstoves, and a step back in time? It is here, it is possible, and you’re invited to come and experience a more peaceful way of life.

Imagine an 1800’s style Thanksgiving or Christmas with your family in this 1896 Victorian setting. The proprietors of this charming home have added elements of modern convenience while maintaining yesteryear in décor, ambiance and integrity. Gather your family in a formal dining room and enjoy time honored traditions. It will be easy to imagine your great grandparents when you prepare a turkey in an old wood cook stove, a traditional oven or provided by local caterers. We can help. While the hotel would be pleased to refer you to local caterers, Hotel fees are not inclusive of catering and food will not be prepared by the Glen Cove hotel or its corporate affiliates.

Gather around the wood burning parlor stove with your family and enjoy board games, song and laughter. Our handyman will chop your wood and lay a fire for you, on your schedule. Feed and maintain THE parlor stove or fireplace as you desire. The décor offers a collection of yesterday that will involve you for hours.

Enjoy the secret garden, the sculpted trees or walk along the quiet country lane that borders the cove. Relax in the gazebo with a good book, or just take in the view from the widows’ porch. A Large beautiful deck overlooks Glencove bay, which at high tide is fabulous. Heron, cranes and kingfishers grace the cove with their presence.

The home features many pieces of outstanding stain glass artistry by owner Lawrence E. Nadeau. Some works contain as many as 1200 finely hand cut pieces of glass for his beautiful creations

While there are three woodstoves, this home can be immensely enjoyed with a nice cozy sweater, like back in the day.

A fully functioning electric kitchen is also available for those days on the go, but you won’t want to leave here once you’ve come. A private well provides ice cold refreshing water, cool and delicious straight from the source.

Don’t feel like night of cleaning up the kitchen? Just want to picnic or have a causal meal on the deck at sunset? All disposable flatware, paper plates and picnicking items provided, or use here for easy clean up.

This residence is fully equipped with laundry facilities and a dishwasher.

Local beaches offer beachcombing opportunities.

The main house offers the Winchester room (so named after the ferry captain that provided service to this small community prior to cars) a peaceful water view room that sleeps two with a library of interesting books, The Master bedroom will also sleep two with a table to sit and sip cocoa at night or coffee in the a.m. The blue room, also sleeps two. There is a water closet bathroom with a pull chain toilet for these rooms to share. An elegant bathing room is available right next door. An additional ½ bathroom is located on the main floor.

Adjacent to, but connected to the main house is the green room. This private suite encourages romance and alone time, or quarters that will accommodate 4, with a bathroom and sitting area that can convert into an extra space for sleeping, television, board games and conversation. A microwave oven and coffee pot allows for a quiet continental breakfast.

The TISN room is an open loft with private bath for 2. A microwave oven and coffee pot allows the early riser to enjoy a little morning quiet time away from the main house.

Cable TV, Internet service, stereo system and a VCR are also available.

Horseshoe pits are just steps outside the door. Deer frequently wander through at dawn for great up front photo ops

Nearby is a small town that you might miss if you blink. Small restaurants, a local tavern, thrift stores and an extensive nursery as well as a local country grocery store, are available for exploring. A drive out the peninsula enhances many parks and waterfront areas for boating, kayaking, canoeing, picture taking or just driving through the many trees that make up the Pacific Northwest

A 20 minute drive to the town of Gig Harbor offers some very fine dining experiences. Lots of artsy crafty shops and beach front galleries await you. Madrona Links and Horseshoe Lake Golf Course provide opportunities to keep up on your swing.

Just ½ an hour away is Bremerton where local ferries can whisk you off to Seattle to spend a day on the piers for fine dining, Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe, theatres, the Seattle underground or Woodland Park Zoo. Other near by attractions includes a day trip to Mt. Rainer, a journey to the infamous Mt. St. Helens volcano or spends the day in The Olympic National Forest.

Other nearby activities: Boating, sailing, hiking, jet ski rentals, windsurfing, movie theatre, water skiing, diving, picture taking and swimming.

In addition to weekly vacation rentals, by the day events may be scheduled. This elegant home is a picture perfect locale to host an intimate private wedding, anniversary party, family reunion or birthday celebration. All events must have a proprietor approved event coordinator. No exceptions. Enjoy your celebration while a coordinator handles the details.
