This gorgeous home is located on the bank of the idyllic Bear Creek in Alpine Meadows, North Lake Tahoe.

Custom built in 2002 for the English Lord of Norcott, this house has all the amenities you could desire in an Alpine home, plus access to a private park with tennis courts and a small pond for swimming during the summer months, and within 3 minutes drive to the Alpine Meadows Ski Area, or 10 minutes drive to Squaw Valley. There is also a morning Alpine Meadows shuttle that drives right past the house during the winter months.
Upon entry to this magnificent house, you are welcomed in the great room, styled for comfort with its stone fireplace, cathedral ceiling, HD home theater system and large windows. The open plan flows through the dining room to the well appointed kitchen, with breakfast bar. The dining room is perfect for memorable family dinners with its large table that comfortably seats 12. Each of the four master suits (one of which is loft style over the main living space) includes a king bed, attached bathroom, views of the river, satellite TV and high speed internet access. The 5th bedroom, also with an attached full bathroom, has 3 twin beds.
The sunny decks, gas BBQ and hot tub can be enjoyed within a lushly landscaped setting, with the soothing sound of the river creating the ultimate sense of relaxation.

House layout is great--very open spaced common living/dining area. Bedrooms are great--very comfortable beds! Bathrooms are amazing--each very clean and spacious. Location is good, fairly easy to get to. Hot tub is good, but a bit difficult to configure. Also the hot tub requires going through the master bedroom. Four couples rented this home and found it very well equipped. There was not a single item needed that was not there. We loved the long dining table -- both a meal place and a late-night "night cap" gathering place. The best thing about this place is its home-like warmth. The location on the creek is fabulous. One improvement would be to put a trash can in the loft bedroom rather than just in the bath. Creekside at Alpine is a fantastic place to stay for a variety of reasons. The house itself is beautiful, clean, well equipped and extremely well located for skiers or those just looking for a quiet, relaxing location. There is no view to equal that out of the massive windows overlooking the creek or stream behind the house. It even made doing the dishes a pleasure. While we were a little worried about the loft (5th bedroom and bath), it worked out just fine. For skiers, Alpine Meadows, Squaw Valley, Homewood, and Northstar are all within 25 minutes or less (Alpine is only about 3 minutes away). For shopping, Truckee and Tahoe City are both nearby. There were a few minor maintenance/housekeeping issues to report. Those that come to mind are the lack of garage door openers, the lack of a stopper for the drain on the main floor bath tub, a broken electrical outlet behind the bed in the main floor bedroom, a running toilet in the loft bathroom, a loose door just below the kitchen sink (right side) and the false drawer just above it that had been scotch taped to hold it in place, and perhaps there could be a few more teaspoons added to the plentiful silverware. These are mentioned only to help the owner keep up with a fantastic home and they in no way detracted from a great vacation. Creekside was perfect for our family of 12, 8 adults, with four kids, plus two dogs, in four cars. It accomodated all of us with privacy when we needed it, and a great living/dining/kitchen space where we could gather with room to spread and relax. The access, the shuttle or short drive to the Alpine Meadoes ski lodge, wonderful walks, and proximity to Truckee and Tahoe City were great. On top of that, we had a ton of snow this year and a true winter wonderland. We plan to be there next season, schedules permitting.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, age 55+, families with teenagers.
