A wonderful trip in a beatiful location!

Guest: Margaret H. (Norfolk, Virginia)
Date of Stay: 11/20/11 Review Submitted: 12/01/11

Our family spent Thanksgiving week at the Mark West Retreat this year. It was fabulous. The views, breathtaking. The hikes in the redwoods, invigorating. The wine, spectacular. The house was large enough to comfortably accommodate our family of 10. The 2 grandchildren especially enjoyed bathing in the Japanese tub up in the loft. We took short day trips to Calistoga, Sonoma, Jenner, and Armstrong Redwoods. Add to that a few jaunts for wine tasting, and Thanksgiving dinner with family who live in nearby Petaluma and the week at Mark West Retreat was complete. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us! An added note: The management company was very helpful in a glitch or two early in our visit, as well as retrieving and shipping items left behind. Thank you so much for your help!

Gorgeous Weekend Get-a-way

Guest: shell (San Francisco, CA)
Date of Stay: 10/14/11 Review Submitted: 10/19/11

This house was perfectly adorned with gorgeous furniture and lots of room to lounge. There were so many cozy parts of the house that I didn't feel like we got enough time to enjoy all the house had to offer. The experience is truly magical with one of the rooms in an octogonal shaped section of windows that felt like you were part of the view itself. The deck offered stunning views of the sunset and later in the evening, the hot tub kept us toasty & relaxed. Lots of wineries were withing 15-20 minutes drive, so the weekend was absolutely effortless. I would love to have the chance to go back.

Fantastic getaway for avid cyclists + wine/food lovers

Guest: Di (Encinitas CA)
Date of Stay: 09/28/11 Review Submitted: 10/05/11

We had a group of 9 of us that rented this house for the Levi Lepiheimer Gran Fondo and we stayed for 4 nights. We all enjoyed the home. The view was spectacular. This home had all the amenities & we spent quite a bit of time relaxing in the house. We were able to use the BBQ & kitchen to cook delicious meals. The home is decorated in a cozy fashion, very quiet home. If you enjoy being isolated & away from it all this is the perfect home. We enjoyed the hot tub as well as the blue shower/tub. The house is spacious and well lighted. It's on a big hill so for us cyclists, not very convenient for cycling, but once down the hill there are some great riding routes. We all fit comfortably. The downsides: The queen sofa bed is uncomfortable (can feel the bars) & the wifi signal was weak (we did have 5 laptops going at once).

holiday vacation home

Guest: Ele (Reedley, CA)
Date of Stay: 12/26/10 Review Submitted: 04/04/11

This place is in an absolutely wonderful location. It is truly like being on top of the world. Our family has stayed here more than once and we have nothing but great things to say about it. The pictures are fabulous but the real thing is even better. It has plenty of room for our large three generation family and it is close to so many wonderful things to see and do. It is hard to leave the house to go sightseeing because I love just being there. We also love to cook (and eat!)--the kitchen is easy to use. Just relaxing, reading, and gazing out of the windows is great. We have only been there in the winter over the Christmas holidays, so we haven't been able to make use of the outdoor features. That would even make it more spectacular. Lucky people that will retire here!!

Beautiful house, beautiful location!

Guest: Kat (Madison, WI)
Date of Stay: 12/28/10 Review Submitted: 04/03/11

We rented the house around Christmas one year and went back 2 years later. There was something for everyone to do: from the grandparents to the grandchildren! I loved exploring Healdsburg and going to so many great wineries in the area. My husband loves to cook and the house had all the amenities for that not to mention a great market 10min away: Molberrys. The views are amazing! You don't feel like leaving the house!

Wonderful, relaxing vacation home with fabulous views

Guest: Ann (Milwaukee, Wisconsin)
Date of Stay: 07/25/09 Review Submitted: 03/29/11

I have rented this home more than once. It is fabulous. The views from every room in the house are breathtaking. You wake up in the morning to a view of hot-air balloons floating up from the valley below. The home is beautifully furnished and has a wonderful kitchen if you like to cook. Plenty of space for a large group upstairs, downstairs and on the balcony. Very close to Heraldsburg and great wineries and restaurants. I cannot say enough about how beautiful, relaxing and enjoyable our stays here have been.

The Perfect Perch

Guest: Chuck (New York, NY)
Date of Stay: 08/01/10 Review Submitted: 03/28/11

I had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful house this past summer (August 2010) and loved every minute of it! The house is truly unique, both in design and location. The views from the large deck (equipped with well-maintained gas grill and patio furniture) are spectacular, providing a wonderful setting to enjoy any acquisitions from the surrounding vineyards. As expressed in the description, there is easy access to several growing regions. The group of friends that I visited with rented bicycles in the gorgeous town of Healdsburg, just a short drive up the 101, and from there explored the Russian River Valley as well as Dry Creek Valley. I advise all friends and family interested in visiting California wine country to consider this house, a perfect perch from which to explore the surrounding region.
