Our bright and airy condo is on the top floor of a four story building,(elevator in building) overlooking the eighth green. There is 1200 square feet under air plus a screened lanai with a ceiling fan. There is a king bed in the master and twin beds in the guest room, sleeping four. A queen size Aero bed sleeps an additional two. The master bath has a new custom tiled shower and the guest bath has a tiled tub with the washer/dryer in a closet. The screened lanai faces southwest and has panoramic views of the eighth green, lake, sunsets and Bonita skyline. The lanai has a table and four chairs. The condo has been newly painted and furnished in the Tommy Bahama style. New custom tile on the diagonal is in the kitchen and great room. There is a breakfast bar and a glass topped kitchen table. The condo is fully equipped with all linens, kitchen essentials and glassware. A separate storage closet with beach chairs and umbrella is available to renters.
Highland Woods is a gated residential golf and tennis community located on US 41(Tamiami Trail) between Naples and Fort Myers and 20 minutes from Southwest Florida International Airport. It is 4 miles to the beach and the Gulf of Mexico. The golf course is an 18 hole, par 72, Gordon Lewis championship course with four tee boxes suitable for all levels of play. In 2006, the golf course was renovated. The renovation included new greens, rebuilt bunkers, tee boxes and cart paths. There is a full service pro shop, an aqua driving range, two putting greens, a chipping area and a practice sand bunker. The tennis facility consists of four lighted, Har Tru surface courts. The tennis program during season includes open play and weekly sessions for men's, women's, and mixed doubles, as well as occasional special events and annual tournaments for mixed and men’s doubles. Participation in men's and women's golf leagues available to transfer members.
The clubhouse was recently renovated and has a formal, professionally decorated main dining room, a casual grille room, and outdoor screened lanai for all your dining pleasure. A community room hosts various activities such as bridge, Euchre, Mexican Train, yoga, pilates, and other social events. There is also a full fitness center with treadmills, stationary bikes, stairmasters and a weight lifting area. There are seven community pools all heated to 84 degrees. The main pool located near the Clubhouse also serves as the aqua-fitness center of Highland Woods. Water aerobics sessions are available most days of the week for both men and women offering low impact exercise. The main pool area also boasts a Jacuzzi, for your health needs and relaxation. There is plenty of parking and a refreshment cabana located next door.
Six other pools are conveniently located thoughout the Condominium and Verandas neighborhoods. The clubhouse issues a monthly calendar of events for golf, specials in the dining room/grille room and events in the community room.
The community is very pedestrian friendly for walking or jogging routes. Outside the gate is a Publix grocery store, Target, bank, video store and restaurants. Across the street is an upscale shopping area and restaurants called the Promenade. The newly opened Coconut Point Mall with over 300 stores and restaurants is ten minutes away.
Highland Woods has two regulation Bocce courts that measure 12' x 70' each. They are constructed of a new material - Clay Tech, which is very similar to an indoor/outdoor carpet with a light dusting of sand applied each year. There is a very effective drainage system to keep the courts playable within hours of any heavy rain. Brick pavers surround the courts and regulation scoreboards are in place for each court. Private parties, other leagues and individuals can register for play in advance on an official schedule kept at the Administrative Office. Participation in fall, winter, and spring leagues available to renters. Applications furnished upon request.

Why the Owner Chose Highland Woods
We have been to Florida many times, mostly to the east coast, but we had friends and relatives who owned property in the Naples/Bonita Springs area, so we decided to try the West coast. Bonita Springs is four miles from the Gulf beaches which we wanted to have easy access and only 20 minutes from Southwest Florida International Airport which is also a plus. Highland Woods is located on US 41, the main north/south route bewteen Naples and Fort Myers. Anything you could possibly want, fine dining, casual dining, entertainment and upscale as well as discount shopping is located along Rte 41. In addition to boating and fishing, all types of water sports are readily available. Or take an excursion to Fort Lauderdale on the east coast, just follow Rt 75 through the Everglades(Alligator Alley).
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
Golf was the number one priority for Steve, I am still "learning" or attempting to at least be consistent. We wanted a gated, bundled social and golf community that wasn't too large nor too small, and Highland Woods exactly fits the profile. The community is meticulously maintained and the clubhouse was renovated in 2004 and the golf course in 2006. We enjoy golf and the social activities but we also greatly enjoy being so close to the beaches and county and state parks.

My husband and I have been married for thirty seven years and have retired from our career jobs; Steve worked for thirty years in the sales division for Lipton Tea and I worked for the merchandising division of Revlon Cosmetics. We purchased our condo in December of 2004 and spent a month renovating it with the intention of using the condo very frequently. However, Steve's brother asked him to enter into a new business venture--opening a restaurant. Steve went from being retired to working 80 hours a week and the restaurant became a success but we do not get to Florida
as often as we expected.
