In the 1860's Julian was known for gold mining but is now best known for its apple pies and outdoor activities. Julian has been preserved with its false front buildings on Main Street, USA and has a rustic appeal that has millions of visitors coming back each year to enjoy its small town atmosphere. 2 Lilac Acres is the perfect nonsmoking retreat, located in the Pine Hills neighborhood, and is situated on 2+ acres of pine, oak and fruit trees. Springtime dots the acreage with daffodils and a long row of tall lilacs. Fall brings beautiful red and yellow leaves and Christmas mistletoe drape from the trees. Once inside you'll find the 2000 sq ft interior remodeled, with the exception of the bath areas. It features a natural stone hearth with an eco-friendly and efficient pellet stove, central heat and air conditioning, cable and wireless wifi, hardwood floors, hand painted kitchen cabinets and new stainless appliances. Seasonal fruit will be hand picked and available in the refrigerator for you from late September to early November. The spacious master bedroom has a king sized bed with french doors opening to a large deck in the midst of tall oaks and pines. The full bath with oval tub and separate shower has dual sinks for your convenience. Located at the opposite end of the master bedroom is the children's area which opens up into two bedrooms. The Rainforest Bedroom holds a queen size bed and boasts a hand painted rainforest mural. The floor to ceiling windows can be used to watch a bright moon or a star filled night sky. The adjoining room includes two twin beds and has a built in desk area for portable dvd players, games, etc... The children's bath has a shower only. Your children must be supervised by you at all times while outside. Julian has many wild animals, including a resident mountain lion that is sighted on occasion. Youare also expected to clean up after your children and not allow them to eat on the living room furniture or in bedrooms. Your family dog is invited to stay as long as he/she weighs less than 35 lbs and is on flea prevention. You are expected to clean up after your pet. Bags and a trash can will be available in the fenced dog run located off the deck. All food/cakes are prepared by our Julian vendors. Gift baskets and flowers are available with a one weeks notice. No food is prepared by 2 Lilac Acres staff.

- Handicapped Accessible (may have limitations) : There is one step up from the kitchen entrance, bathrooms will accommodate the smaller wheelchairs. Sinks are standard size.
- Kid Friendly : Children are welcome and will enjoy our 2 acres with our famous climbing tree at the front of the property. There are rope and tire swings available. The rain forest room is a favorite, with its hand painted mural. There are books written when my daughter was 9 yrs old that children enjoy reading. Children must be supervised while outdoors and you are expected to clean up after them. We ask that children not eat on living room furniture.

I have owned the property for 15 years. It has been a vacation rental for 3 yrs. We have been pleasantly surprised how nice our guests have been. It seems to be the perfect getaway for couples, families and retreats. We have been pleased to host our guests becoming engaged, military retreats, faith retreats, family reunions and couples just wanting to sit on our deck and enjoy the deer and turkey passing through the property. First things first! This place is soooo homey! Me and my husband Tony booked our stay for in the winter time so maybe we could catch some snow! The pellet stove was great and so romantic. Our favorite part was laying a blanket by the fire place and having a great glass of wine while listening to contemporary jazz on the stereo that was provided! They have a TV set up, but we were to outstanded by the snow and homey warmth me and my hubby just stayed comfy cozy with each other. The yard was great and every morning wild turkeys and deer would pass by! They have a whole kitchen set up, dining room, and three bedrooms! MARY AND ALLY thank you from the bottom of our hearts! With our little one on the way you better bet this will become a family tradition!

OMG! This was one of those times in life where you look SO forward to a vacation SO much and the experience actually EXCEEDS the expectation!!! Mary and Ally, I need to THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for giving our family one of the most memorable vacations that will always remain dear to our hearts. We had TONS of fun between touring quaint Julian and just hanging out in your lovely, immaculate home! It's so spacious! And not only is the structure of the house beautiful, but the way you've decorated it gives it SUCH a cozy feeling! In fact! Every time we'd leave to go exploring the kids couldn't wait to get back they enjoyed it so much LOL! I have to admit, hanging back at the house all together playing the games and music you provided and watching an occasional movie of yours was my favorite part too :-) We even fired up the pellet stove, even though it wasn't necessary, just to add to the ambiance of an already cozy atmosphere.
