Why the Owner Chose Gig Harbor

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin Home

As a family, we love just hanging out by the water and enjoying a relaxing time BBQ, snuggling with a book, and lauging while playing board games. When we feel really ambitious, then we go for a walk on the beach to Al's for some ice cream. Taking it easy is what we enjoy best at the cabin.

Owner's Map of Gig Harbor

Welcome to Gone Fishin' Cabin, our home away from home in the Northwest! My husband and I both have busy careers. And like most working parents, we are challenged by balancing family needs with work schedules. The cabin is our little Puget Sound waterfront get away from the chaos of nornal life. Here, we can enjoy a stroll on the beach with the sea breeze in our hair, take in the amazing oceanfront view while sipping our morning coffee, and listen to the crashing waves from the deck lounge. And the best part, the kids can play on the beach and learn to fish or kayak in front of the cabin. Happy memories are made of these...!

    • We were at the Gone Fishing Cabin for 3 nights and wished it had been a few more. The feeling when you first arrive is indiscribable. What a really neat place and such nice people to rent from. It is a real get away from it all and forget some of the cares of life. We did miss having TV as my wife has alzheimers and can't play games very well, but I did help her with Yahtzee and she did well. Definitely recommend it and be back we sincerely hope. Thanks Kim and Arne

    • We stayed at Gone Fishin' cabin for four nights over Labor Day weekend. We had a fantastic time fishing, playing on the beach and playing board games. The cabin kitchen is very well stocked and the location is close to Gig Harbor yet still secluded with a private beach. We also enjoyed the views from the deck and saw the most beautiful double rainbow over the water on our last day. Loved it!

    • We just returned from our week at Gone Fishin'. What a fun and relaxing time we had! Our son and daughter-in-law were planning on staying for three nights, but when they got back to Seattle, they missed the cabin and returned for two more nights. It was so relaxing watching the water traffic and the otters and seals. It was perfect for our 22 month old grandchild to play on the "big toy" and the marvelous deck. We hope to return soon. Lynn

    • What a nice place to relax and enjoy some beautiful scenery and of course the sound. The cabin is very comfortable, peaceful and well appointed. Gig Harbor is only 10-15 minutes away, so there is plenty of places to dine, shop or sightsee if that is what you want. Otherwise you can just sit back, take long walks, and enjoy some solitude. We will definatley be back!

    • My family and I are extremely busy and needed time and a place to just relax to forget the outside world for a little while. This cabin definitely provided this isolation for us. The location is beautifully situated on the water and ensured our leisure time with extraordinary views of wildlife and a variety of watercraft. The cabin itself is excellently laid out in an open air feeling which provided easily for my family to cook meals together as well as play games in the evening after the sun had gone down. We definitely are planning an additional stay at this amazing cabin.

    • We had a wonderful time here. The cabin is secluded, quiet, and right on the water. We went to Point Defiance Zoo one day and drove to Penrose Point State Park another. We bought some fresh Oysters on our last night and BBQ'd them and enjoyed them from this fabulous deck. I would recommend this cabin, it's the perfect location to relax and re-charge.

    • We were looking for a nice place to chill and to do nothing and believe me it is a good thing sometime to do nothing for a while, for a few days...Some friends of ours had stay at this cabin before and suggested that we gave it a shot...we went for it and so Glad that we did...the deck is to die for...very large and has an awsome view...We Texan like to bar-b-cue, and we sure did with lots of fresh air and awsome view as well...we also went to town for a quick shopping trip ....the town had unique character, which we also liked. If you are looking for a place to do the wild and crazy things then this is not a place for you, but if you are looking for a place to recharge, to spend time with family, to collect yourself, to relax and to leave hectic life behind for a while like we did..then this is it...honestly. Yes, we will most certainly come back again and with friends for Sure!... One happy Texas family vacationing in Seatle coast.
