Welcome to Gone Fishin' Cabin, our home away from home in the Northwest! My husband and I both have busy careers. And like most working parents, we are challenged by balancing family needs with work schedules. The cabin is our little Puget Sound waterfront get away from the chaos of nornal life. Here, we can enjoy a stroll on the beach with the sea breeze in our hair, take in the amazing oceanfront view while sipping our morning coffee, and listen to the crashing waves from the deck lounge. Weather doesn't matter.

It was a great vacation! Everything from beachcombing to watching a seal spend hours sunbathing on the back of a neighbors boat. We had warm sunny weather and damp gray weather and it didn't change anything. Our needs were well met and we would go back again. Thanks for the memorable vacation.

Our visit to the cabin

Guest: Ken (Spokane, WA)
Date of Stay: 09/06/11 Review Submitted: 09/14/11

Our family had a wonderful time at the gone fishin cabin! It was just as billed, very clean and well stocked for our visit. We had everything that we needed for a most comfortable vacation. Our son and his young family came everyday to enjoy the beach and all the toys that were provided for the children. Our 2 1/2 year old grandson especially liked the Thomas Trains! We hated to leave and definitely want to return.

We enjoyed our stay at the Gone Fishing Cabin. The accomodations were very comfortable and the view of the Puget Sound was spectacular! The playground and fire pit were put to good use by our family and we would not hesitate to stay at the cabin should our travels take us to the area again. We highly recommend it.

Gone Fishin' Cabin

My family and I recently spent 8 wonderful days at Gone Fishin' Cabin. The Cabin's amenities were as described and the website photos were very accurate. It was very clean and there were plenty of toys and activities for the children to play with. The view from the deck is spectacular and wildlife abundant. If your looking for a sea side getaway to relax and unwind this is the place for you. The owners Kim and Arne were more than accommodating and made themselves available from day one. Bring your own crab trap and pot to cook them in. We caught crab every evening. We will be back very soon!

Wonderful Get Away Place-Very restful

Guest: Diane (Mammoth Lakes,Ca.)
Date of Stay: 05/09/11 Review Submitted: 05/29/11

This was our first visit to the cabin. Road down is curvy but easy to negotiate. Pictures are very accurate. Cabin is done in a charming nautical theme. It was very comfortable, inviting, and exceptionally clean. The kitchen was well equipped and complete. We were one of the first people to use the "new" bathroom. It was cute, colorful, and all new. The whimsical fish tiles in the shower were fun to look at. Cabin heats easily with "wood stove looking" gas heater. Back deck is wonderful to relax on watching boats go by. The ferry even went by on it's way to Tacoma for repairs. We look forward to going again.

Very, Very Relaxing

Guest: Jeff (Tacoma, WA)
Date of Stay: 04/29/11 Review Submitted: 05/12/11

The cabin is less than an hour from our home but after being there a short time the city seemed far, far away. The cabin has EVERYTHING you need, just bring food and clothes and be ready to relax and explore. A guest's guide book done by Kim & Arne shows you places to visit, amenities in the house and surrounding area, and really helps you settle in and feel at home. The new shower is sparkling and very inviting. There are big grocery stores not too far away in Gig Harbor, as well as good restaurants and interesting shops, but still you feel like you're in a remote spot once you're back at the cabin. Pictures shown here are exactly what the cabin looks like inside and out. Kim went out of her way to make us feel welcome and our stay enjoyable, and she and Arne are fantastic hosts. We will definitely come again and look forward to it!

Cute cabin with a beautiful view, great for kids

Guest: Christie (Redmond, WA)
Date of Stay: 12/18/10 Review Submitted: 12/23/10

The gone fishin' cabin is very cute and clean with a wonderful view of the water from the living, dining and kitchen area. It was perfect for our family's holiday getaway. The road down to the cabin is a bit windy and not well lit so we recommend trying to find the cabin during daylight. We tried restaurants and checked out shops on the Gig Harbor waterfront and took the ferry to Vashon Island. A newer shopping area in Gig Harbor about 20 minutes away also allowed us to see a movie. The cabin is great for kids with an open floorplan, bunk beds in one bedroom, and lots of toys. They even put up a Christmas tree and decorated for the holidays for a nice touch during our stay.

Wonderful!

Guest: UsedtoliveinWA (Leavenworth, KS)
Date of Stay: 10/21/10 Review Submitted: 11/11/10

Had a wonderful few days at the Gone Fishing Cabin. Sitting right on the water, the views are amazing. Access to the cabin involves some twisty roads, but not too bad. We saw a few sea lions, fishing boats, and what appeared to be a golden eagle or osprey - far bigger than a hawk. Cabing was largely clean and quite comfortable. Just perfect for two adults and a couple of kids. We felt right at home! Beds were great. Living room furntiture was fine. Deck is beautiful and really adds to the house. Only reason I can't give it 5 stars is the shower. It's pretty rough. No bath tub, which isn't a huge deal unless you have young kids to bathe. But, the shower is ancient. You kinda feel like you want to tip-toe into it. It works, just not the bright, shiny clean feeling you want.

Owner response:Thanks so much for your feedback. We're glad you've enjoyed your stay at the cabin. The waterfront is ideal. We also appreciate your feedback about the shower. We've asked our housekeeper to ensure it's spotless. We're also in the process of getting it updated this winter. For your next visit, it will be newly tiled!

We loved it and can't wait to stay again...

Guest: Seattle Sharon (Seattle, WA)
Date of Stay: 08/20/10 Review Submitted: 11/10/10

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin this summer, and are eager to plan our next visit. The area is private and lovely, and the cabin is clean and well-equipped. We had both a small child and a senior in our group, and both loved it. The moon over the water was just lovely! We enjoyed beach walks, roasting marshmallows in the fire pit, and watching birds and sea lions. There are nearby parks for hiking, and everything one could need for a relaxing, comfortable stay. The owners are very gracious, organized and communicative. This cabin comes highly recommended!
