The apartment next door to it was renovated and can connect with the existing space that spans the ENTIRE FIRST FLOOR OF THE HOUSE! You can rent the FULL 2-BDR/2-BATH APARTMENT (which includes everything listed in the FEATURES SECTION), or you can choose a "1-BDR option" (see below). You can rent just one half of the house (a small 1-BDR apt. called LITTLE LAGOON NORTH), or the other half (the larger 1-BDR apt. called LITTLE LAGOON SOUTH)!
Your choice of two "1-Bedroom Apartment" Options:
"LITTLE LAGOON NORTH" is a cute 1 bedroom apartment on the ocean side first floor of a solid masonry 2-story building right on John's Folly Bay lagoon. This little getaway includes a refrigerator, sink, microwave, 2 burner hotplate, coffeemaker, toasteroven, dinnerware, flatware and various kitchen supplies, just enough for minimal food preparation and reheating. There is a 3/4 private bathroom (tiled shower stall). "LITTLE LAGOON NORTH" also includes a sofabed in the living room, in addition to the Queen bed in the small bedroom, which is ideal for a family with small children. There is also a private porch with a BBQ grill and outdoor dining under the coconut palm trees.
If you prefer something a bit larger, "LITTLE LAGOON SOUTH" is a larger 1-BDR/1-Bath apartment with a full kitchen, living room, 3/4-Bath (tiled shower stall) and outdoor porch (half of which is screened in and has a futon)! "LITTLE LAGOON SOUTH" also includes a sofabed in the living room, and a Queen bed and A/C in the bedroom It is also ideal for a family with small children. SEE NEW PICTURES!!
We view several U. S. and British Virgin Islands, the shipping lanes for cruise ships, and sailing & motor vessels. We face N.E. and experience awesome sunrises and reflections of beautiful sunsets. We are 100 yards from the beach at John's Folly Bay and 20 feet above sea level on a beautifully landscaped vista of flowers/native trees/palm trees/fruit trees. The building is owner-occupied with 2 young children, and has an outdoor play area available. We are steps away from a gorgeous shallow lagoon which is ideal for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and fly-fishing. We're on the public bus route, but car rentals are recommended.
You might have many interesting questions to ask the owner, Ernest, who is a native Virgin Islander and a former OLYMPIC ATHLETE who competed in the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France! Bobsledding, no less! We even have an historic ruins built in 1882 on site, of which Ernest is the 5th generation. We are surrounded by hiking trails & various white sand and rocky swimming/snorkeling beaches. The V.I. National Park constitutes 2/3 of the island, and the skies are usually sunny with an average year-round temperature of 85 degrees.

Little Lagoon is at the southeast side of this small island. It is 40 minutes away from Cruz Bay, and all the good beaches and snorkeling places are within 40 minutes driving. So it is very convenient. Donna and Ernest rent out the first floor to guest. It is divided into two sections, each has its own bathroom, bedroom and living area. The larger one has a full kitchen, while the smaller one has a small kitchen-like area. We rented both so we could cook some breakfast at home and some times cook pasta for dinner. Dining is not cheap on the island. They also have washer/dryer that you can use. And they provide clean bath towel and beach towel. We also rented snorkel gears from them for free. They live on the second floor and are easily reachable. We had a great time staying at Little Lagoon.

As mentionned before, you will not find a cheaper place on Saint John! We were here with our 6 years old child and it was the perfect place to be. Two beds, a little kitchen, a bbq for cooking the fresh mahi mahi and wahoo, a shower, that was all what we needed. You will need a car The host were very friendly and their daughters too, our child loved to play with them! My husband and I stayed from July 24th - July 29th, and it was absolutely fantastic. The apartment was adorable and extremely clean. Plus, Donna and Ernest were the perfect hosts! They provided great gear for snorkeling, as well as very helpful information about the island.

What a wonderful apartment. It was spotlessly clean, great location, perfect size for the two of us. The photos are quite accurate and it was so nice having a separate living room to hang out in and the patio with table and chairs was perfect for dinners. The gas grill was great to have as well. The kitchenette met all our needs and the owners were so helpful. They even supplied a drying rack which was very helpful for hanging our swimsuits on to dry every night. The snorkel gear I brought ended up not working and they had great gear to borrow for the week. Plus being so close to the lagoon and the cool breezes was a great way to start and end our days just hanging out by the water. We even saw a couple turtles in the lagoon munching on the turtle grass. We were 5-15 minutes from great snorkel sites and hikes as well as restaurants. The gourmet grocery store they recommended was perfect, had everything we wanted and the prices weren't outrageous. Salt Pond & Rams Head were a very short drive and had fabulous snorkeling, we even saw donkeys playing on the beach at Salt Pond our last morning along with some deer going up the trail.

We stayed in “Little Lagoon” for two weeks in March of this year. Ernest and Donna and their girls were excellent hosts, providing us with privacy yet always being available to answer any questions and help in any way they could. The apartment is just the right size for two people; bright, clean and well maintained. The kitchen, while minimal, along with the gas grill was sufficient for our needs and allowed us to prepare meals when we needed a break from eating out. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and are looking forward to a return trip.

Our stay in "Paradise" exceeded all of our family's expectations! We can't say enough about the hospitality offered by Donna and Ernest and the girls. The lagoon offered a safe place to explore, and the location was a perfect combination of seclusion and easy access to all of the other beautiful beaches on Saint John. We especially appreciated the warm, relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. When we first planned our trip to Saint John, we imagined it as a once-in-a-lifetime vacation. Now we are already dreaming of our next visit. We know exactly where we will stay, too: Little Lagoon!

Donna and Ernest, and their daughters Seala and Sierra, have been the prefect hosts for my week in Paradise. Their little guest house apartment in John's Folly was my perfect escape. Each morning I would take my coffee and walk down to the edge of the bay, basking in the beauty before taking a swim - such a gorgeous spot! The bus stop at the top of the hill provided perfect transportation - at $1 a ride! - to or from Cruz Bay -- or points on Center Line Road from which I could hike the trails down to many of the fantastic beaches here on St. John. Be sure to read through the guide books in the apartment, especially "St John - Off the Beaten Path," which offers great insights. Donna and Ernest are also great with suggestions and tips of what to do, where to go, eat and shop. Such a great vacation -- thank you! Michael

"Little Lagoon" is a cozy and private oasis nestled at the far East end of the island. My wife and I spent a week there and by the second day, we didn't want to (ever) leave. Most of the hustle and bustle (by island standards) are at the far West end of the island so you are far enough away to really get a sense of privacy. Going to sleep at night and waking up to the roaring sounds of the sea is something we'll never forget, and there are wonderful restaurants nearby that have to be seen to be believed. The warmth, generosity and privacy you will experience will keep you wanting to return year after year!!
