You’ll enjoy the gourmet kitchen with all of the amenities expected for the master chef. All of the appliances are brand new and include a full-size refrigerator, gas range, microwave and dishwasher. The kitchen has a raised bar with four barstools.

There are golden granite countertops and travertine marble floors throughout the cottage, as well as on the two covered porches. Eat at the spacious raised bar, or enjoy meals al fresco on the outdoor dining table with Coral Bay harbor and the Moravian church as your backdrop.

The quaint and cozy living area features a leather couch, coffee table and chairs. There is an entertainment center which includes a surround sound stereo system with IPod dock, video and book library and Wi-Fi center. It’s a comfortable place for relaxing and reliving your St. John experiences.

There is a full bath off the living area with a granite countertop. Exit the second door into the outdoor stone shower. It is made with local stone and is decorated with seashells.

There is a rectangular opening facing the harbor. Enjoy the experience of showering under the star- filled sky overlooking the mellow glow of the Coral Bay evening. There is an arched doorway leading onto the covered porch, including a swinging half-sized "bar" door.

Sit and enjoy a cool drink in the swing on the breezy, covered porch while watching the sailboats bobbing on the harbor. The spacious upstairs covered deck features a porch swing, an outdoor living room set (loveseat, 2 chairs w/ottomans and coffee table) and a beautiful outdoor dining table. The floor is travertine marble. There is a stainless steel cable railing system, so as not to impede the incredible view of the church and harbor.

There are two ways to access the downstairs bed, bath and covered porch. You can use the the beautiful indoor cherry spiral staircase or use the outdoor stairs that wrap around from the front door to the downstairs covered porch. The downstairs bedroom features a queen bed, oversized dresser, nightstands and a small closet. There is a 32" plasma flatscreen tv mounted in the bedroom, along with a DVD player as well as a DVR player allowing you to record shows of interest while you're at the beach.

There is also a half-bathroom on this level. Opening the sliding glass door brings you out onto the downstairs covered porch. There are beach coolers and two backpack-style beach chairs.

Sunday mornings are a special time here. You’ll hear the church bells ring at 9:00 am. The traditions of this historic, over 250 year old, Moravian church can be felt through the choral singing that drifts up the hillside. It’s an extraordinary experience you’ll not soon forget.

Coral Bay is located on the quiet, mellow side of St. John. A 2-minute drive down the hill will bring you to a variety of shopping, restaurant and entertainment options. Beaches and the National Park hiking trails can all be found a short distance away.

You'll definitely want a rental car so you can take advantage of some of the most pristine views of the lush, tropical hillsides and aqua blue seas. The "busy" town of Cruz Bay is a 20 minute drive away.

We have just completed a gorgeous 10 x 20 mosaic tiled swimming pool overlooking the harbor, with a 450 sq. ft. pool deck and adjacent tropical garden.

  • What a treasure! I hate to even write a review because I want to keep this little piece of heaven a secret! Everything about this place is wonderful. Very well furnished. Here's a list of things the owners are kind enough to supply; a small cooler for the beach, ice packs for the cooler, two beach chairs with shoulder straps and pouch for carrying towels etc, coffee grinder, coffee pot, one pool float, wine opener, full kitchen supplies, Wi-Fi, beach towels, and grill. I could go on and on. The property manager and the owners have thought of every detail to make your trip the best ever. Love the salt water pool! The views are so wonderful. The owners and property mgr are very helpful and will respond very quick to any questions. The place has a neat story so read their blog. Enjoy!

  • My husband and I stayed at Anchorage Aweigh the last week of October 2009. The villa was beautiful, with picture-perfect views of Coral Bay. It was filled with amenities like a fully appointed kitchen, air-conditioned bedroom, wraparound porches, pool and outdoor shower. The pictures hardly do justice to the beauty of the villa and surrounding views! The on-island property manager was extremely helpful in getting us settled and answering questions. Anchorage Aweigh was the perfect base for our travels around the island.

  • this small villa was like a home away from home for us. the pool is a perfect oasis after a day out hiking or on the beach. the owners have done a great job in furnishing the place and provide practically everything you need. getting to the house (and up the driveway!) is always an adventure in itself, and we love the quietness of coral bay. although secluded enough, we liked that there were bars and restaurants just down the hill if we felt like eating out. finally, we very much enjoyed the sounds of the wildlife around the house: frogs, birds, and even the goats grazing in the field below! we'd love to come back!
