This property is truly lakefront with a private boat dock. In the summer time you can enjoy swimming, boating, kayaking and other water activities. There are lots of hiking trails. Yosemite National Park is only 20 minutes away - 1 hour to Yosemite Valley and Badger Pass. In the winter you can go skiing, snowboarding or cross country skiing at Badger Pass located in Yosemite.
The property offered is the guest house only. The main house is for our personal use. However, the main house will not be occupied and you will have sole use of the dock, beach and grass area while you are there. We are located down at the falls end of the lake with a unobstructed, beautiful view of the lake. We completely remodeled the guest house when we built the main house with all new appliances including stackable washer and dryer. It is approximately 750 square feet so it would be perfect for one family.
We have recently received notice that due to the need for seismic upgrading of the dam at the other end of the lake, Bass Lake will not be filled to historic levels. For at least the summer of 2009 the water level will be kept approximately 10 feet below maximum. Luckily for us, as of the beginning of May, we had 4 1/2 feet of water at the end of our dock. This should be plenty for keeping your boat at our dock. This level is planned to be maintained through Labor Day. Other properties are not so lucky. There are a number of docks that were high and dry in May and we would recommend contacting any other rental property owners that you might be considering renting from to assure adequate water levels at their dock. 10% Madera County tax + $200 security deposit.
25% deposit required when booking. Balance due 30 days prior to arrival.
If canceled less than 30 days PTA deposit refunded only for days we are able
to re-rent the cabin.
Guests clean cabin and launder linen & towels before checking out.

Why the Owner Chose Bass Lake
Bass Lake is a short enough drive from Southern California to come up for a long weekend. Depending on the season there is just so much to do it makes for a great family getaway. With Yosemite near by, fishing, summer boating on the lake, spring wildflowers, fall hikes, and occassional winter snow aroung the cabin, there is always something to do.
The Unique Benefits at this Lakefront Cabin
The private dock is very nice and convenient to have. We have a nice beach and a beautiful lawn area. There are expansive lake views with Goat Mountain in the background. We are close enough to swim or paddle to the Falls Beach and go inner tubing down the falls. Hiking up the falls to Devil's Slide is also a nice morning adventure. We have recently completed a major renovation and have modernized all appliances and kitchen area.
