  I wanted to thank you for a wonderful week at your house. I have never witnessed such beautiful sunrises and sunsets in my life. We noticed your house while on the ferry on the way over, and felt like the true Guana elite that we were staying there. You did a great job stocking the house with everything you could need. It was so nice to walk to that gorgeous beach, and the beach chairs and toys you provided were so helpful. My kids thoroughly enjoyed the trip as well. They were thrilled that you had satellite TV when we got there, but to be honest I don't think we ever turned it on. Way too much to do! Thanks so much, we will definitely be returning, and wouldn't want to be any where other than Top Shelf!

  What an awesome stay at Topshelf. My first time in Guana Cay was filled with fun memories and new friends. Everyone on the island was very friendly and gracious. Topshelf was Topshelf! A fabulously decorated home away from home. There was nothing to want for. It offered all the ammenities of home. A great time was spent in the crow's nest with the girls. Can't wait to hopefully return again in the near future! Thank you Donna.

  What an amazing house and such a magical island! The house is elegantly simple, and its crown jewel is the 360 degree view from the crow's nest. The view is made even more spectacular by constant, cooling breezes. The power from BEC is spotty (which is true throughout Abaco), so the elevation of this house made even a night without power a special treat because the breeze cooled us all night. It was such a pleasure to hear the ocean and drink in the Milky Way while lounging on the porch and in the crow's nest. Great home caretaker took great care of us, as did all the wonderful island residents. What can I say? EVERY nook and cranny of this of this island is comfortable, fun, easy and inviting. Rent a golf cart, explore and enjoy! Dive, snorkel or fish. On Guana, it's all good. Life doesn't get any better than this.

  I had been planning this trip for quite a while, and it turned out to be all I wanted it to. The house will comfortably house 10 and entertain many more during gatherings all the while providing the creature comforts of home, down to the termpurpedic mattresses on the beds. The views are equisite with the breezes and surf harmonizing in the background 24/7. It will make you feel like kings and or queens of an island. it is a two minute walk to one of the most majestic beaches I have ever seen (and I am of Bahamian origin) with the water still warm and lovely well into October. This recent trip was for adults but I certainly plan to be back next year with the kids and watch them grin from ear to ear when they get there. I highly recommend this property!

  We stayed at this property over spring break 2009 for a period of 10 days. We were excited by the advertisement and were expecting great things. When we arrived we found the house was not on the beach at all with houses between which they clearly do not show or mention and in fact was approximately 1/2 mile from the beach down a sand/dirt road and the stairs to the beach were so steep and in such horrible condition that my father and two year old son could not make it down to the beach. The extremely frustrating thing is they charge the rate for an equivalant home on the beach when theirs is cleary not even close. When we talked to the owner after the trip she was rude and not appologetic in any manner. There are better choices for the same price. The home itself was average at best and we continued to have power problems the entire vacation. Although they do advertise a backup generator it is actually a small generator that needs to be filled up with gas on a regular basis in order to supply power and when it is working you cannot run the entire household on the generator so you are forced to choose between a warm shower or breakfast. Additionally the care taker is the provider of gas and needs to be called when the generator is needed. This is ok unless of course they are not available or busy and then you sit without any power, and yes that means airconditioning and hot water!!! The lady that is the caretaker really does her best to keep guests happy but in our opinion she was frustrated due to guests being disappointed and upset with the property and the misleading advertising. They also advertise an available boat doc. However after renting a boat for the entire vacation we came to find out that the boat insurance would not cover the boat if we docked it at their doc. They fail to mention in their advertising that the doc is unprotected and no boat rental company will allow their boats to be docked there due to the high probability of damage. We were therefore then forced to dock at the marina and incur the additional daily dockage fee and the boat was then hit by the ferry boat causing substantial damage which we had to then fight with the boat rental company to keep from having to pay for the damage. In the end fortunately the boat rental company agreed it was not our fault. All in all we have been going to Great Guana for approximatley 10 years and would never stay at this property again.   Owner response: As the owners of Top Shelf let me say we are sincerely saddened by this review. We worked very hard to make Top Shelf a beautiful and comfortable home, as all other renters will attest to. Our house is not oceanfront, but ocean view, as we clearly state. I am not aware of any other four bedroom home directly on the beach in Guana in this price range. This house is part of Dolphin Beach Estates, and we do have a shared private dock that not one other guest has had a problem with. It is unfortunate this guest has taken this avenue to discredit our home, but you can't make everyone happy.   We spent 1 week on Guana Cay at Topshelf. I can't say enough about the beautiful island and wonderful house. I know it's been said before but by far the best views on the island. Loved the easy access to the private beach and also to a dock that we used for our rented boat. I want to thank the owners for all their help and for having such a well equipped rental that made our vacation the best ever. See you next year.

  After our long trip from San Diego we were immediately calmed by the crystal clear Bahamian water. The house had the most amazing views, that we quickly made a ritual out of watching the sunset in the Crow's nest with a cold Kalik beer. I want to thank the owners for helping us through the whole process, from airline tickets to renting our golf cart and giving us great advice with boat rentals. We loved your house and can't wait to come back with our friends next year. Thank You

  We visited Great Guana for the first time, and chose Top Shelf for our rental. After looking at all of the available properties, we loved the fact that the house was brand new, and so nicely decorated. We were not disappointed at all. There is nothing negative I can say. I don't know if the house or the views were more beautiful. We had rented a boat in Marsh Harbour so it was great to have the dock right there. The beach was amazing, and they had comfortable beach chairs, toys, and snorkle gear available for our use. We drove all around the island (great fun in a golf cart), and truly could not find more beautiful views that that of the crow's nest or deck right at our own house. We are already planning our return trip to Guana for next year, and we will most definitely be staying at Top Shelf

  I was fortunate to have spent a glorious vacation on the island of Great Guana Cay. This was my first time on the island. The home we stayed in, Top Shelf, was absolutely beautiful!!! From the minute we walked in, we felt right at home. It is filled with warmth and coziness. Our evenings were filled with many wonderful moments on the deck overlooking the ocean. And each morning, we would walk down the path in front of the house that lead to the most beautiful beach and water I have ever seen. The beds were so very comfortable and what a view we woke up to every morning - just beautiful. I would recommend staying at Top Shelf to anyone - from a small family, to a large group - it will fit everyone comfortably. We will definitely visit the island again and without a doubt, stay at Top Shelf.
