Owners addressed our concerns

Guest: suzy (Canada)
Date of Stay: 12/16/11 Review Submitted: 02/08/12

I would like to thank the owners of this unit for contacted us both by phone & email, in regards to my comments about our stay over xmas 2011, We just received a CHEQUE last week for the cooking pans we bought, also they have ordered a NEW FRIDGE, in regards to the bathrooms, they know updating is needed when finances allow. As I stated to the owner, I have decide to write a review in regards to rental units we stay in. We have been coming to Kihei for over 30 yrs. staying either at the Hale Pau Hana or the Royal Mauian, so we have stayed in many units. We are not the typical once in a lifetime visitor, who are in AWE of everything. As we move into 2012, I expect these units to be updated, not the original plumbing etc. (built in the 70's) I would suggest THIS UNIT IS BETTER TODAY & WILL BE GREAT TO RENT, AS THESE OWNERS DO CARE AND LISTEN TO THEIR RENTERS.

Disappointment for our family Christmas in this unit & the complex

Guest: suzy (Canada)
Date of Stay: 12/15/11 Review Submitted: 01/03/12

This unit was very disappointing, guest bathroom the original, bathtub no plugs, grubby, hard to turnyelli on water taps for shower old also, mastrbathroom old taps also, paint chipping on walls, twin beds, must be original mattresses, terrible to sleep in. Front drapes hanging off hooks, would not close, no cutting knifes, or steak knifes, no baking pans. Master bedroom closet smells of MOLD, BUGS everywhere, in dishwasher, behinds stove, fridge, cockrochess in guest bathroom .Maui Condo did not help us out at all. The complex is not Children Friendly at all, felt by many visitors who had family there. People yelling at little children too much noise in pool no balls on lawns, etc. terrible. Will not ever go there again.

Owner response:While this guest acknowledged her overstatements and that some complaints related to another unit she also rented, and offered to revise the Review, she never did do so. Please refer to the numerous other Reviews for this condo and contact us with any questions. we look forward to your enjoyable stay with us. Mahalo

Ladies Beach Getaway

Guest: Maggie & Friends (Vancouver Island, BC Canada)
Date of Stay: 11/07/11 Review Submitted: 11/22/11

Our first experience with a ground floor unit and we loved it! We spent all our 'at home' time on the lanai enjoying the landscaping, ocean breezes, and chatting with other guests. The proximity to the pool and 2 wonderful beaches was perfect. Furniture and beds were very comfortable and it was cool and quiet at night. The roof top garden exceeded our expectiotions. The snorkeling out front was very good and the dining at nearby restaurants enjoyable. The Royal Mauiian is a very well maintained resort in a perfect location.

Our kids have truly enjoyed yuour place. We were always on the 4th floor and never appreciated the benefits, especially for kids, of being on the ground floor. The weather has been typical for summer. Beautiful mornings and windy afternoon. Exactly what we were expecting. We are already talking about returning for a longer time. Thank you again for the late check out. It really makes a difference for the kids. I hope you get here often and enjoy it as much as we have for the past 38 years. The |Royal Mauian is the best on Maui in my opinion.

Perfect Location

Guest: Cloverdale, BC

Thank you for the opportunity to use your fabulous condo. The location and proximity to beaches, is second to none. We especially enjoyed our morning coffee and cinnamon buns (from across the street ...awesome!!), the dinners on the rooftop patio and the countless hours snorkeling and bogie boarding at the beach. Our 2 kids put the pool to good use when the winds picked up, and played on the beautiful front yard. We really hope to visit Maui again and would love to return to the Royal Mauian 115. The ground floor access was perfect.

We just got back from 10 days at this amazing property. It was everything we thought it would be and more! The condo had everything we needed, from towels to kitchen supplies (even dishsoap and trash bags) and everything in between! The views were spectacular! Being on the ground floor was so great just to walk out to the grass to watch turtles! The grass is amazingly soft and cushiony being barefoot with our babies was great fun! We never wanted to leave and spent most of our time on the lanai, the grass area, pool and of course the beach! Both beaches Kam I & II are great! Super close and a nice walk on the soft grass in either direction to the beach. Snorkeling was good and my husband even fished from the rocks out front early mornings, the rocks are where we also viewed turtles for at least 20 minutes and took some amazing photos! We watched turtles from the grass as well, they seem to come by there all the time which was great. Our family had 2 other condos at the Royal and everyone loved ours the best and commented on how homey it was! We would definetly recommend this unit, very clean, very easy to work with the owner who uses a local rental company for contracts and payments and answered all my questions prior to the trip. I had trouble sleeping since I got home not being able to hear the waves crashing can be addicting! We left the windows open all night and enjoyed being lulled to sleep by the ocean outside. The property is so clean and well kept. The pool and lawn chairs are cleaned constantly and the landscape is immaculate! The roof top barbeque area is another treat! The sunsets up there are great and its fully equipped also, with a kitchen area, bathroom and lots of tables and chairs with better views than most of the restaurants and so convienent not even having to leave the property! Such a great place for a memorable family dinner! We have been to Maui before stayed in Kaanapali at Sheraton Black Rock, Embassy Suites and even the Grand Wailea, but our best time yet was here at the Royal Mauian in this unit!! We hope to be back again soon!

Owner response:We are elated that you enjoyed our condo as much as we do. We can't wait for your return visit. Mahalo Owners of RM115

Location is superb. Just walk right out from your patio onto the grass and view the ocean and beach right in front of you. A little noisier than expected as it is right by the pool but when you're on holidays in Maui, it's takes alot more than loud conversations and splashing to make you have a bad time. Cannot beat the location!

Just a quick note to say thank you so much for the lovely gift basket and for the use of your place. We’ve had a marvelous time. We took our boys snorkeling with us today and we all saw turtles as well as myriad of fish. Our youngest has been getting comfortable swimming in the pool in the afternoons. The ground floor has been very convenient, and the BBQs on the rooftops are great. Location can't be beat--between 2 great beaches and across the street from shave ice and the natural food store!

To hear the rolling waves from the bedroom is so calm and relaxing. It's fantastic that the apartment in on the ground floor, being able to walk through the garden and sit in the lounge chairs. The rooftop BBQ's are good too, worth to make dinner up there and watch the sunset. We did 8 dives this week; 4 with Ed Robinson i Kihei, good organization. Molokini, Red Hill, Molokini Sunset and Morty's reef night dive. All very good dives. Along the coast in Wailea we did 2 dives on our own. Then we also drove out to Lahina to dive with Frontier Horizon(great!). We saw > 100 dolphins swimming and jumping by. The snorkeling right in front of the condo is good too! Go in the ocean from north to south - we saw a couple of turtles.

Great apartment, all equipment, waterfront, close to beach!

Guest: Monica (Canada)
Date of Stay: 09/05/10 Review Submitted: 09/29/10

Hi, We had a great time in this apartment. It was very well maintained with all the equipment that you can wish for. Fully equipped kitchen incl. blender & toaster, coffee maker with coffee, tea, dishwashing soap etc. Towels & soap in bathroom. A welcome basket on the table. We felt immediately at home. The unit is at the best location, oceanfront and just next to the pool. The beach is a minute away. The bbq deck on the roof is a nice extra. Also the place is very large with a lot of closet space including walk-in. In the main bedroom you can hear the waves on the rocks at night, very calming. Snorkeling is right in front of the building where you can see the large turtles. For diving: Ed Robinson in Kihei or Extended horizons in Lahaina. One thing is that there is a lot of wind in the afternoon, the private patio is nice and sheltered, but it would have been nice if there was a windbreaker on the grass/pool area so you could still be in the sun but out of the wind. Have fun!

Owner response: Thanks for the great review. We love our piece of paradise! Thanks for commenting on the Welcome Basket! Mahalo

I had a wonderful 2 1/2 weeks here. First week was with my mom and friend. We went up the crater, Lahina, the end of the road past Wailea and then of course Hana. Repeated it the 2nd week when they went home and my husband, youngest son and girlfriend came. Beautiful spot with great sunsets. Hana is always the best and the road past Hana around the other side of the island is very scenic and safe. Will return hopefully one day soon.

Just spent a lovely week with my daughter and friend. I go to swim in the ocean and several times in the pool. We went to Laina and out in the submarine, not as many fish as twenty years ago! We also went up the volcano right to the top. We also went to Hanna, much better now the road is paved! What a wonderful week not long enough will be back I hope. Very nice place. Thank you. I spent almost 3 weeks in the condo - the first with my mom and friend and the rest of the time with my husband, youngest son and girlfriend. The location is fabulous. Steps from your Lanai is the pool and then the ocean. A short walk in either direction takes you to 2 of the best beaches on the island. I have been to Maui about 15 times and the weather has been beautiful all but one time. Right across the street from the condo are several malls for shopping and dining. Spent many a Happy Hour enjoying the sunset at Moose McGillicuttys which has decent food and great drinks. A short walk home is also nice. Cafe O Lei directly across the street always has good dinners. Rooftop Barbecue is fun too with great views. Must do's on Maui - Get the CD for the drive to Hana (available in Paia or most stores) and make a lot of stops along the way. There is not a lot in Hana - it is the journey getting there. We always take the back road home - it is on the maps. There is some gravel sections but just go slow. Leave around 8 a.m. and don't plan to be home until 8 p.m. Lahina is a good place to go and there are some really beautiful beaches along the way. Haleakala is also worth the drive as is the drive to the end of the road past Wailea. Really love going to Maui and will definitely be back.

Owner response:Truly the best beaches on Maui and we are right in the middle of them. Just steps away and you are enjoying true Maui. The mall across the street has wonderful shopping - the hand craft store with local treasures is always a great place to find a gift to take home to your friends and family members that did not make the trip with you. We have been coming to Kihei for more than 25 years and always find new adventures. We look forward to having you as our guests. We also include a local welcome basket that is a great hit with our guests. Mahalo

I wish I could stay longer, but can't. All though its only my second day here and I've still got five days left I feel that when I leave Maui I will not like it! I really am enjoying the hot weather because I live in Yurino Russia! Luckily there are summers with grass and flowers but no lovely beaches like in Hawaii! And worst of all it's not summer, but the spring has to promise for warmth every year and signs of the new season are creeping there way out of the frosty winter!

We really appreciated the welcome basket of Maui products and we did make ourselves at home. Thank you for leaving some basic cleaning supplies to help us keep the suite tidy. We were grateful for the use of the flippers that we used to snorkel around the coral in from to enjoy the many colorful fish and the turtles - Wow! The lanai was our favorite place from morning to night. We look forward to our next visit. Mahalo!

Thank you so much! Your condo is a little piece of heaven. We had a wonderful family holiday and are seriously considering coming back the same time next year. We stayed at the Kamaole Sands in 2008 and it just doesn't comp[are to the setting of the Royal Mauian. We enjoyed many evening on the lanai watching sea turtles, sunsets, and sipping on tropical drinks. The road to Haleakala is not for the faint of heart. My daughter and I both got car sick for the first time and have ruled out a trip to Hana. We did enjoy the sunrise though :). Warmest Mahalo.

Thank you very much. Your condo had everything we needed. We had 3 condo's in the building and this unit was by far the best. We watched as Hurricane Felicia approached the island on the day we were to fly out. Thankfully, it has been downgraded to a tropical depression as we head for the airport. We spent 9 beautiful days here, it was 85-90 degrees but the trade winds kept us cool. The staff here does a wonderful job keeping the ground beautiful. Mahalo!

It was a wonderful time for 3-sisters and almost all our husbands to celebrate our 25th, 30th & 36th special anniversaries. We enjoyed, touring, scuba, snorkeling and basking in the sun. Weather was somewhat cooperative, had a few days of rain but not bad. Our favorite sites were of course the whales, turtles and a friendly pregnant monk seal that perched herself right on top of our stacked lava rock out front. Mahalo! PS - Shopping was awesome right across the street. Favorite restaurant was Matteo's Italian in the Wailea Golf Course.

Aloha! Thank you so much for the wonderful stay in suite 115, what a perfect location! We've done so many memorable things, from watching a mom whale giving birth to her baby right out front, to watching a traditional luau in Lahaina. For the most part the weather has been great, we've had a few rainy days, but without rain there would be no rainbows! We've also made a couple of friends that come visit this suite on a daily basis now :). A couple of zebra doves (Popeye and Olive Oil) have now claimed your front patio as there own little home and they ward off all the other zebra doves most of the time. When its feeding time - anything bread-like is up to their standards. We often see the same spotted dove, 2 myna birds, the occasional marsh sandpipe- and a bunch of house sparrows getting in on the action as well. So needless to say, we've had lots of fun and left you with a large adorable, yet doting little family. From all 4 of us, thank you again for our time here, it will forever be remembered. Mahalo!

Aloha! Thanks for making your condo such a comfortable "home away from home" for us. We have shared many 'firsts' this week, and experiences are what count when one reaches 75. We snorkeled at Molokini from the Quicksilver, we flew in a helicopter on a tour of Maui with Blue Hawaiian. We enjoyed a wonderful BBQ on the roof-top. We also enjoyed meals her on the lanai.
