Downstairs are two large bedrooms with en suite Italian tiled bathrooms. The master bedroom has a king size West Indian four poster bed, armoire and antique side tables. The bathroom is especially large and bright with a walk in closet. The second bedroom features two beautifully restored four poster beds, a queen and a double. We were so lucky to be able to spend a week at La Bagatelle. It's a wonderful home, and had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. Thanks to Valinda and the house staff, the house was neat and clean as a pin, the furnishings were beautiful and comfortable, and the kitchen well stocked. The bedrooms are very spacious and beautiful, and the beds are comfortable and surrounded by the finest mosquito netting we've ever seen. The grounds are lush and well maintained, and the tennis court is in great shape. We took advantage of the shopping service and airport pick-up. Trevor the driver was the best - he was right there at the gate waiting for us, pointed out all sorts of plants and points of interest on the way to the house, and had a wealth of information on places to go. We were a little worried about not renting a car on this trip, but realized very quickly that having a driver just a call away was extremely convenient and a lot easier on us. For us, the location was perfect, but we really like walking and I have a thing for steep hills. Soufriere was about a 10 minute car ride, or a quick water taxi ride from Anse Chastenet. We could walk down to Anse Chastenet (15 min) for snorkeling, beach lounging and lunch, then hike back up (35-45 min) to watch the sunsets. The view from this house is jaw-dropping, and none of the pictures really capture how pretty it is. And for all the privacy we had, we felt very safe as there are other villas nearby, and all the gates were very secure. As for nearby activities and restaurants, there is a ton of stuff to do, but we were so content just lounging around, playing tennis, and visiting the fish just down the road that we kind of ran out of time. Nothing seemed more compelling than sitting back with the one you love and taking in that gorgeous piton view.

To say that time here was too short is stating the obvious. This is a place of true respite - a chance to stop running and a chance to sit, listen to the birds during the day or all the glorious sounds of the night. The care provided by Valinda and Paul was luxurious - so many great meals in an immaculate setting. We are already thinking of how soon we may return to enjoy the peace and beauty of St. Lucia. Thank you Nancy for your wonderful hospitality and gift that is La Bagatelle. We hope we can meet you next time.

Exquisite view - elegant surroundings - excellent care and attention - it's been a memorable week! We all needed to relax and unwind, and this has been a wonderful space in which to do so! St. Lucia is very beautiful, we spent time in the north, but think the South delightful. We are grateful to Nancy for her kindness in locatin provisions for us - to Valinda for her quiet calm presence and delicious cooking - to Paul for the care of the house and pool. Thank you to you all for your thoughtfulness - it has really contributed to our sense of well being. Over it all - the majestic presence of the Pitons casting an enchantment... We hope to return!!

Few things in this world are as good as advertised, let alone better. La Bagatelle certainly is oneof the exceptions. From Nancy's great hospitality to Valinda's exquisite food preparation (home made ice cream, fresh bananas and Admiral Rodney rum will forever be a part of my dessert menu). We never got tired of the incredible views and must have 200 photos of the Pitons between the three of us. This was the perfect home base for the perfect getaway - leaving the rest of the world behind for a few days - although admittedly we did have to go online to follow Montreal beat Pittsburgh in game 7! Went to 20 20 Cricket on Monday, and Christine's introduction to cricket was much like my into to snorkeling - all sorts of colorful, strange looking (some more so than others) yet harmless creatures. All in all, a great time, be back soon.

How divine that we have been blessed with this opportunity to relax and recharge here at La Bagatelle. When my life gets hectic and my challenges are overwhelming, my time here will surely bring me back to "the Now" moment. Being here has reinforced my desire to live one day at a time. Take life as it comes one moment at a time. Holidays like this are so much moe than a sunset and a cocktail. La Bagatelle, it's beauty and the kindness of Valinda, Paul and Nancy will ground me and remain in my heart always. I particularly enjoyed the stars, the Day bed and the fact that my husband didn't have a cell phone that worked. God Bless

Dear Nancy, Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful house La Bagatelle. This house truly sums up the soul of the Caribbean. Thank you also to Valinda and Annette, for your great cooking and sweet and graceful manner. I shall miss you and will never forget this spectacular place and St. Lucia. When back in gray, wintery and cold Denmark, it will be a comfort to know that there is a place like this in the world, so colorful, warm and beautiful. Thank you, and see you one day again.

The most spectacular terrace of any house we have ever been to. Our 16 month son was so taken with it - he started to walk the moment he set foot on it - having refused to take more than 2 steps previously. Just sitting on the terrace looking at the view was enough to make our hectic London life seem a lifetime away. A truly beautiful house - if only all holiday villas were so beautifully kept with such incredible attention to detail. Valinda & Paul are real stars - coming home after a day on the beach to Valinda's cooking was a real treat. Turning all the lights off & lying out by the pool at night and watching the stars was another treat. We will come back. Thank you, Nancy.

Everything about this vacation exceeded our expectations. What a breath taking view! What warm, friendly people! St. Lucia has won our hearts, and La Bagatelle made our dream honeymoon come true. Valinda's cooking - mouth watering, some of the very best we tasted! We especially enjoyed the creole chichen and banana ice cream. In town we enjoyed Camillas and Gee's Bon Mange (try the lobster!) Paul was interesting to talk with and we enjoyed the visit from Midnight the dog. In town we met Simon, aka Simon Says, who showed us all the sights and some waterfalls we would never have found. Thank you for an amazing week. We are hoping to be back soon.

It was nice to have met you, Nancy , and we would like to thank you for letting us have your lovely villa for the last 2 weeks. We have rented many holiday villas now over the years, and this one possesses possibly the best view in the world! We have seen the sights of St. Lucia, enjoyed some of Valinda's excellent creole cooking, snorkeled, whale watched, and one of us even made it to the top of the Petit Piton (well nearly) but at the end of the day, the best thing of all was to return to La Bagatelle
