Seattle in January

Housekeeping was clean. Disadvantage was no TV other than Netflix. For that reason we would probably not stay there again. Small details such as no Kleenex, bar soap, garbage bags, coffee filters were not provided. Good location for restaurants and sight seeing.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, pet owners, age 55+, tourists without a car.

We absolutely loved this place. In Seattle, it is all about location, location. When the ad said 10 minutes from downtown, it really is 10 minutes away. We arrived late in the rain and we were happy to find the owners had turned on the heaters for us. The cottage was so clean and cute. I absolutely loved the color scheme (one of the reasons why I selected the cottage). I brought my dog and he enjoyed walks in the surrounding quiet neighborhood and loved the treats at the posh dog boutique on California Ave (Mud Bay). We enjoyed days touring Seattle (Seattle underground, Pike's Market, the water front) and nights playing on the Wii, surfing the net with the wifi and eating out in the local area. Some really cool places in the local area we went to were; Cactus restaurant down on the beach, Mission (recommended by the owner and totally yummy) and PCC market to stock up the cottage. Alki beach is just down the hill and was really pretty to sit on and take in the view of Seattle's skyline. Love it and can't wait to come back.

The space here is cozy and very comfortable. Its located in a wonderful neighborhood with great views and near public transportation that can whisk you downtown in 15-20 minutes. Good food choices within a short walking distance. We had the most marvelous time during our stay and gladly recommend staying here for a wonderful experience of Seattle.

We've stayed at the cottage several times since our daughter and family moved to W Seattle. We agree with the other reviewers comments on the cottage and it's location. We like the convenience of staying in a neighborhood with many entertainment options in the area. We can walk to Alki Cafe for breakfast, Circa for dinner, plus many other restaurants, grocery stores and a drugstore are close by. We also enjoy the short drive to the W Seattle Junction area with all the fun places to explore. Downtown Seattle is also easily accessible. The exercise equipment on site is a plus for us. We enjoyed the personality and presence of Luna, the former resident dog, but can understand that others might not feel the same. Eric has been helpful in addressing any questions or concerns and strives to make the experience restful and enjoyable for the guests. We have recommended the cottage to others.

You'd never know this pleasant, private back-yard cottage had been a garage! With its bright, new and clean interior that had everything we needed for our stay in Seattle. Although the resident dog was a bit of a deterrent for using the back yard, and the parking along the alley was a bit tight, everything else exceeded our expectations. We could do our shopping at the Admiral Junction Safeway, enjoy a coffee and bagel, even take in a movie, all within a couple of blocks. The 10-minute walk to Alkai Beach would be great if the return trip wasn't almost all uphill! But we did enjoy walks around the neighbourhood where, in late April, the floral display was stunning! Exploring the rest of West Seattle by car was very easy from this location, but we opted to take the bus to downtown Seattle: the bus stop is just at the end of the alley. We'd certainly want to stay at this property for a stay in Seattle again, and we recommend it to anyone who wants a modern, private, quiet accommodation in this busy city.
Owner response:We're so glad you enjoyed your stay. Since your were here we've made some updates that we hope you'll come back and check out. Our resident pooch was adopted by a friend which makes the backyard much more accessible for guests. We've also added paving stones to the garden area and a lovely cafe table and chairs for those wonderful Spring and Summer days in Seattle when the sun is out!! We've also had a couple new restaurants and shops open up that are worth trying out, including a fantastic BBQ spot that has wonderful patio seating. We hope to see you again soon and greatly appreciate the time you took to write a review.
