La Fabrica de Bombas was originally built in the mid 1700s as a factory that manufactured cannon balls for the Great Siege of Gibraltar (1779-1783). Lovingly restored it now provides a unique and magnificent holiday home. It enjoys a romantic setting on the banks of the Hozgarganta River, with stunning views across the Alcornocales National Park (the largest in Europe). The dramatic backdrop of craggy rocks crowned by the ruined Moorish Castle gives this lovely self-catering property a truly unique location. The villa is situated only 10 minutes walk to the centre of Jimena de la Fronteras' shops, bars and restaurants. Jimena is one of Andalusias' famous white villages. It is a traditional working village, where you can often find spontaneous authentic flamenco in the early hours of the morning. You can experience real Spain, yet drive to the beaches and golf courses of the Costa del Sol in only a 30 minutes. This summer holiday rental sleeps up to 8, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms, including a separate flat which is not let separately.

La Fabrica de la Bombas is situated on the outskirts the beautiful 'Pueblo Blancos' of Jimena de la Frontera, with its cobbled streets and white washed houses. Surrounded by craggy rocks and topped with its romantic Moorish castle, Jimena is a traditional, working Spanish village. Only a 10 minute walk into the village, yet situated on the banks of a river in a rural and peaceful setting. This property offers you the best of both worlds. From the bustle of Jimenas bars and restaurants to the outstanding beauty of the Alcornacales National Park on your doorstep.

Activities that take place locally include horseback riding, hiking, bird watching and cycling. Offering a chance to experience 'the real Spain', yet only 30 minutes from the Costa de Sol, and 45 from the Costa del Luz, it is the perfect location for a holiday that is as relaxing or as active as you choose. Day trips include Rhonda, Seville, Cadiz, Gibraltar and Morocco.
