A Wonderful Place to Stay

This was the perfect place for us: quiet, but close to Corrales & Albuquerque, a BBQ pit, very nice decorated rooms with comfortable seatings, a very clean and well-mantained house. The walking trail behind the house offered a wonderful view to Sandia Peak - a must every evening. All amenities we needed were available, everything very well described, so that no questions were left open. As we BBQ'ed every evening we did not have the chance to try out any of the restaurants. The absolute highlight was the balloon fiesta - with the balloons cruising above the casita: staying outside with your cup of coffee and camera - you'll get the sound of the ascending balloons but also a stiff neck when staring at the sky for hours ... :-). If we´ll ever come back in the area, this casita will be our first choice.

We spent a week at the Casita in August with our two children. Sandra made sure that we felt at home and even went the extra mile to make sure that there were appropriate table settings for our kids. We came to NM to see Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and the surrounding parks, and the casita was so inviting we wanted to spend as much time at "home." The little village offered a number of good food options including pizza and gourmet sandwiches. We definitely hope to return.

Thank you Ray and Sandra for all the loving care you obviously lavish upon this lovely getaway. A perfect place to relax, enjoy the beauty of the semi-rural surroundings -- and in absolute quiet, due to the thick adobe walls. Raymond's woodworking art shines throughout the casita, making it a little like living in an artist's home. No, it IS an artist's home! And comfortable,as well. Thank you, Sandra, for being so attentive and available. We always felt we could call on you if needed. So glad we got to meet you and Ray before we left. The surrounding neighborhood is so lovely that simply walking down the street is a joy. So close to downtown Albuquerque, yet the horses in the fields makes you feel you're out in the country. And Corrales itself had just about everything we needed, including a wonderful organic grocery store. A perfect retreat, and one we hope to visit again!

A Home Away From Home

Casita de Corrales has been our home for the past 35 days and we truly mean it feels like home! From the beautifully appointed rooms to the magnificent outdoor setting, this is a little piece of heaven. But what made our stay so delightful was the caring and the attention to every detail by the owners, Sandra and Raymond Archibeque. This place is meticulously clean and tended to. The Archibeques have provided every amenity you could ask for. And although they have no control over the beautiful colors of the mountains at sunrise and the black velvet star-studded sky at night, you almost think that is all part of their plan to create the best New Mexico experience for their guests. You will not find a better place to experience NM culture than in the Village of Corrales. Everyone is warm and welcoming and you instantly feel part of this most interesting neighborhood. There is so much to do here in the Village and the location makes just about everything easily accessible, including interstates and neighboring areas. We would highly recommend this property and if we have the need for another rental, we definitely will make it Casita de Corrales. Thank you Sandra and Archie for such a wonderful NM experience.
Owner response:Rosemary and Tom, it was such a pleasure having you as guests at the casita. We are happy to hear you had a wonderful stay and got to experience all that New Mexico has to offer.

JUST LOVED THIS SETTING AS WE WERE RIGHT UNDER MANY HOT AIR BALLOONS AS THEY FLOATED OVERHEAD. THE TWO BEDROOMS WERE GREAT. (PERHAPS WE COULD HAVE USED ANOTHER MIRROR) OUR NEPHEWS,AGES 7 & 9, WERE ABLE TO RUN AROUND THE AMPLE YARD WHILE WE ENJOYED THE COVERED PORCH. IT WAS PERFECTLY LOCATED NEAR ANY SHOPPING WE NEEDED TO DO AS WELL AS CLOSE TO ACOMA, AND ALL OF ALBUQUEQUE. WE ALSO ENJOYED THE LOCAL RESTAURANTS AS RESULT OF SANDRA'S RECOMMENDATIONS. THE "VILLAGE PIZZA" WAS A GREAT HIT WITH OUR NEPHEWS SO, OF COURSE, WE HAD TO EAT THERE TWICE." CASA VIEJO" WAS ALSO DELICIOUS THOUGH A BIT MORE EXPENSIVE. THE CASITA WAS VERY CLEAN AND WELL MAINTAINED. WE WOULD NOT HESITATE TO TRY TO STAY HERE AGAIN.

This lovely, lovely casita in the wonderful New Mexican village of Corrales is a perfect escape - beautifully appointed, clean, comfortable, charming, serene, quiet. Full of pots of lovely flowers, multiple outside living spaces including spacious eating & BBQ area, firepit for the starry nights, and sofa & chairs under the portico to lounge & read & daydream in...It's located very close to top quality restaurants, boutique shops, and art galleries of the first order. We enjoyed it all, especially the morning walks down to the bosque (river woodlands) along the Rio Grande, to watch the migrating geese, swans and sandhill cranes while the sun rose over the Sandia mountains. The owners were kindness itself - available, responsive yet unobtrusive and very helpful. We can't wait to go back!

My husband and I just stayed the weekend at Casita Corrales, and it was so cozy and relaxing. It was sparkling clean. The decor was beautiful. One of the owners is an artist, and his beautiful woodwork is everywhere you look. The grounds are amazing, and we even had a pair of Peacocks come to visit each evening. There is a great gas grill for cooking out, and dinner on the patio was one of our favorite things. I would recommend this place to anyone and we would certainly stay there again.

My husband and I spent a week in May at this lovely Casita. It was quiet and off the beaten path, but an easy drive into town for graduation festivities. The Corrales area is so beautiful! We loved the porches, both front and back and the gas grill made it very nice to entertain a small group of family members. The home is furnished very nicely, creating a warm and cozy environment. Thank you Sandy for a wonderful stay in New Mexico. Maryann and Dave
