DEAR MICHAEL, PLEASE ACCEPT MY APOLOGIES for taking so long to write a comment about our recent stay with you. without doubt, Villa Sorgente is a lovely farmhouse in a beautiful spot. For anyone hoping for a quiet,relaxing holiday, there can be few better options. the situation of the villa,the spacius gardens and the quite wonderful pool area enabled us to enjoy the peace afforded by the venue to the fullest extent possible during our visit. IF someone is looking for a villa in walking distance of a busy town then Villa Sorgente isn`t for them. if, however,thy are seeking an opportunity to unind and spend long balmy evinings, eating and enjoyng a feu glasses of excellent red wine with friends and family, then they need look no further. i`d also like to add my personal thanks for the help you gave us when Katie needed to goto hospital. to take several hours out of your day to accompany us on the journey and ensure that our inabilility to speak italianbeyond ordering a meal didn`t cause any issueswas incredibly generous of you. Fortunately,as you know, Katie`s illiness was nod serious, and after three nightsin hospital she was bak with us for the final Friday evening, and made up by tucking into the pizza`s that we cooked in the oven in the garden. THE pizza oven is a wonderful touch,and your assistance in sourcing good quality pizza dough is something else I`m grateful for. I WOULD GENUINELY recommend villa Sorgente to anyone considering a holidai in TUSCANY..WE had read onereview with some criticisms of the villa and its situation ahead of our visit. i can tell you quite honestly that i don`t agree AT ALL. The fact thet the villa is a little off the beaten track is one of its redeeming features- and well worth a few minutes of driving.We`ve previously stayed in other places in tuscany, and those, such as VILLA SORGENTE,that are not in the heart of towns and cities allaw the visitor to feel the full force of the beautiful countryside and all it affords. On top of that, Villa Sorgente has the immeasurable benefit of you and your commitment to ensuring your guests are well looked after ;-from driving to thesupermarket on the first evening with us to ensure we got there as quickly as possible after a day travelling,you made yourself available to aid us whenever we needed help guidance or information.WE HOPE to revisit V.Sorgente in the not too distant future.Although only a few weeks since we visited,it now seems so longago,WE could have stayed 2 wks

I was lucky enough to spend two weeks at Villa Sorgente this past summer from 13 Aug to 27 Aug. For me it really was a trip of a lifetime: stunning property, accessibility of towns such as San Donato in Fronzano (3 minutes away) for any immediately needed groceries. In town there is a bakery, café, and children’s games. Reggello is down the road with a larger variety of shops and weekly market. Figlini Valdarno is also nearby with the local train station (where we boarded the train for a day trip to Rome) which includes a free car park. Florence is about 35 kilometers away. Meals we ate al fresco, often using herbs grown on the property (sage, rosemary, bay leaves, juniper, basil, oregano, marjoram, the amazing nipitella – great for using with zucchini and porcini dishes- not to mention the figs, olives, tomatoes, walnuts, grapes and hazelnuts also grown. The pool was just fabulous - the water clean and refreshing. Respite from the heat was possible by the poolside cabana, where we also dined many nights. The house kitchen was a fantastic. The outdoor barbeque and pizza oven were easy to use (after the caretaker kindly showed us how). He also offered great Italian cooking tips, and shared many recipes including his versions of bolognese, and a pesto sauce made with the walnuts and hazelnuts. The bathrooms offered strong good showers with hot water available at all times. Internet access was readily available. Rooms were comfortable. The house was decorated with many items the owner found in a villa he once owned up in S. Donato, giving the place a very authentic Tuscan feel, as one would imagine. This, for me, was the trip of a lifetime and I highly recommend this property to anyone desiring a Tuscan holiday in a beautiful - very private setting - with easy access to local towns, Florence, markets, and really anything you would desire on your holiday. We are in the last few days of a month long stay at this property. We thought we'd write a review now before we get back to the hectic hustle and bustle of business life. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. Everything has been as described on the website. We have wi-fi, hot water, and a nice pool. The road to the villa, although steep and rocky in a few stretches, is only 1 mile long and is nothing more than a country road leading to an authentic Tuscan farmhouse. The house is in a central location of the Chianti region of Tuscany, easily accessible to Florence, the wineries and the Florence train station to catch a train to other larger cities. There is a market within 2 miles of the house that carries all the necessities and a larger grocery store within a 10 minute drive. There are also several good ristorantes within short driving distances. The caretaker has been helpful and a joy to visit with while respecting our space and privacy. Overall, this has been a wonderful, authentic stay in Tuscany and we would recommend this property to interested parties.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.

There is no, absolutely no WIFI available, regardless of what the owner/caretakers tell you. Almost impossible to get your deposit back, and then certainly not the amount you paid, or in the same currency that you paid it in. VERY long mostly rough dirt road (several miles long) to get down into valley where villa is. No shops within easy walking distance. AND whatever you do, don't expect hot water in your shower--maybe gets luke-warm. Our familie's reviews have been removed by this owner before.
Owner response:Wifi is available and has been used by all other guests who have stayed with us, with the password clearly indicated in the welcome manual. There are chargeable facilities, which guests are informed of in advance.For example central heating, additional cleaning services, wood logs amongst others. These items are deducted from the deposit, and the guest is informed. These rates are deducted in Pound Sterling if not paid at the time in Euros. The villa is in a secluded area just under one mile from the main road, as stated in our website. This is its charm. New central heating and boiler were installed at the villa 3 years ago. This can be regulated by the guest, and functions excellently. As dictated by law, these are serviced annually by governement registered technicians. No guest reviews have ever been removed to our knowledge. We are sorry that this guest did not get the most out of their stay, and hope that this does not reflect on the wonderful feedback we have had unanimously received from our other loyal guests.
