Pleasant home, had a great time. If you like a variety of options for skiing, this is a good choice. Would go back again.

We stayed here with the intention of skiing at Sugarbush. It was a doable distance from the resort and had a great entry way for removing snowy boots and clothing. Although we had poor luck with snow at the resort (I think it was unusual for them) the house served as a great place to hang out when not on the slopes and a nice place for other adventures to Burlington and surrounding areas. The description and pictures were accurate and the house was well maintained. The owner was also very easy to work with and contact. I would highly recommend this rental home.

As we are moving, life is of course stressful. However, our stay at this lovely home was delightful. We returned every evening after work/packing to a warm and welcome atmosphere. All of the extras ...books, movies, complete kitchen with spices....added to the experience. Thank you Sheila!

Arrived at the house just as the snow did. We found it to be a wonderful home - lots of windows for the great views... very open and roomy floor plan for entertaining.... everything we needed to cook a Thanksgiving dinner and to relax.... TV with the cable to watch our hometown football team win! The home was just as described online and the owner answered my many questions through email. I would definitely recommend a stay here! The adult children would have loved it if there had been a queen bed in either the 2nd or 3rd bedroom - but they managed. I personally loved the king size bed in the master bedroom! My only suggestion might be to have a motion sensor on the front porch light - we got there after dark and it was interesting getting the key from the box. By the way - be sure to go into Waitsfield to the The American Flatbread Restaurant. Long wait, but worth it!

The property was as described. The pictures do not really show you the real size of the place as it is BIGGER than it looks in the pictures. Although my husband and I had no problem finding the place, we came during light hours, the other couple had fog issues and had some difficulty finding the location. The directions given were excellent for us but again we came during daylight. It was more than a perfect location for an event at the Skinner Barn. The weather was such that we were able to really enjoy the deck. Once you get your bearings, nothing is too far away. Beds are comfortable and sleep was sound. It is just a nice comfortable place to stay.

Very well equipped, comfortable home base for enjoying the Mad River Valley as well as excursions to Stowe and Burlington. Exactly as advertised although the photos don't really do it justice. Very clean and spacious for our party of 4 adults. Owner provides explicit written instructions on everything and communication with her via phone and email was very pleasant and accommodating. Would definitely return.
Owner response:The photos are my own and taken with a very basic camera. I appreciate the renter bringing this to my attention.

The house was perfect for our family. Our two young kids (1 & 3 years old) loved the dog house and enjoyed playing in the yard. We couldn't have asked for a better location and accommodations.
Owner response:Thanks for your comments. I'd like to say to prospective renters that the recent damage done to many Vermont communities also affected Waitsfield but that our home is on such high ground we were, thankfully, spared any damage whatsoever. Waitsfield is a community that depends on tourism, and I am certain that the town is going to be up and running in no time flat.

On a scale of 0-10, we rate it an 8 or 9 overall. Excellent exerienc eand nice home. Well appointed. We agree with prvious comments that a full-sixe couch would really help. Wealso checked all around and couldn't find why so many small gnats and moths were getting in. Think it may be window sash seal by A/C. We caught very hot weather. ouple more fans would be good. Upgrades to BR carept, closet doors, hollow core doors would enhance home. On value for the money spent, we rate it 10 on a 0-10 scale. Very fair for home + location.

On a 0-10 scale, I'd rate my rental experience overall a 9. The house was very clean and comfortable and everything was in working order. However, the only issue is the limited seating in the living room. Since the house sleeps 6, it seems as though the living room should accommodate all. A larger sofa, sectional, maybe? (You could move the computer to a bedroom.) Loved your home, love dthe area, and the process was easy and the price was fair. One suggestion - factor in the cost of trash removal and have thecleaners remove it, perhaps. The value for the money spent was, overall, a 10 on a 0-10 scale.
Owner response:Sorry, thought I already responded to this one. Yes, I am working on increasing the living room seating. I expect it will be in in time for the fall. It's just that the house has been rented nonstop all summer; no chance to get in there. I thought it was nice to have the computer in a public space, but maybe not. I think your trash removal idea is a good one.

Overall, I rate my experience an 8 out of 10. Clean, comfortable home with everything we needed. Property was as advertised and gave us a great base for exploring an excellent area. Our young children enjoyed the dog house! (The house) Needs a full length couch. (Owner was) very responsive and easy to work with. Value for the money spent: 5 out of 10.

Overall rating of overall rental experience is a 9 out of 10, where 10 is "excellent." [Because] It's comfortable, easy to get in and out, outfitted nicely, very functional, beautiful location, views and nice neighbors. Dryer needs upgrade at some point. Property is beautiful, process easy and fair, owner very responsive and a pleasure to work with, very fair. Overall value for the money spent is 2, where 1 is "excellent" and 10 is "very poor." [second highest possible rating]

Overall rating of overall rental experience is a 10 out of a possible 10. [Why?] It is a lovely, comfortable home. It was a comfort for our tired bodies after skiing! We would love a couple of a chairs on the decks - ones that can stay out in the snow. It's a great location nd you have lovely neighbors [the neighbors have horses who like carrots from strangers]. Overall value for the money spent 10 out of 10 where 10 is "excellent."

Overall rating of the rental experience is 9 out of a possible 10. Clean house, plenty of kitchenware to use, great heat, quiet location, fun wildlife outside to view, comfy living rooms, open floor plan, fun games, lots of DVDs. I would ask for better water pressure in the shower. It was a very easy process. Overall rating of value for the money spent is also 9 out of a possible 10.

Overall rating is a 10 out of a possible 10. The place was spotless, comfortable, well-stocked with everything I needed, the directions on how things worked, where things were stored were all accurate and easy to understand, the accommodations were conducive to relaxing, there was cable TV, internet… I can’t think of anything I’d add. The stock of creature comforts and necessities seemed comprehensive. Although I did think you could use one more cutting board and an apron, I like to cook ;) Maybe you, or your renters, could start a file of brochures on things to do in the area, and driving directions and maps – e.g., I went to Camel’s Hump State Park and I think left (at least I meant to) the trail map, park pamphlet, driving directions to and from. It’s nice to get recommendations and helpful hints about which trail they took, how was the food at such and such café, where to pick apples…

Overall rating is 8 out of possible 10. Overall we had a great time. The house was just as described, very clean, easy parking etc. We did have a minor water problem which was quickly addressed by the owner and corrected. I think cost/value was extremely fair and I would be happy to rent this property again.

Overall rating is a 10 out of a possible 10. The house was clean, the right size, the right price and fairly convenient to everywhere we wanted to go. It provided the extras like TV/cable, internet, that we needed. Last, there were nice trails nearby to walk dogs, etc. We had a great time and would like to talk about doing it again.

Overall rating a 5 out of a possible 10. Master bed comfortable. Location of house great!! Stairs (to) house and parking area not so great. Your neighbor was great (the one with the horeses helped pull me out of a ditch one weekend). I think a full length couch is needed. Porcessing was great! On both ends, in and out. (OWNER'S NOTE: A new leather swivel easy chair was added, and the stone steps were completely replaced with lighted decking for safer navigation in snowy/low light conditions.)
