Our third year of spending the month of February at The Bayou (Briggs Diggs) on Pine Ave.. The weather could not have been better. New owners; same wonderful condo. Very clean with a well equipped kitchen, lots of towels, comfortable beds, beach chairs, fishing rods, kayaks, coolers, etc. Pine Ave is thriving and has many new shops and speciality food stores which we visited often. The Olive Oil Post is a favorite for a cuban coffee, delicious balsamic vinegars, imported pastas and cheeses. The Italian Kitchen has the most wonderful breads and Italian foods to go, especially the eggplant and pizza. On Tuesdays you can take in a Jazz Concert at the Village Cafe. On Fridays you can Join in Porch Night, visiting the shops and sampling treats. The location is also ideal for fishing, bicycling, long walks, sitting on the beaches of either the Gulf or the Bay or on your private dock at the canal right outside your door. The neighbors are soooo friendly too with at least one outdoor get together during the month. And the "free" trolley stop is steps away and it will take you down the entire island from Anna Maria to Holmes Beach, to Bradenton Beach. The condo has become our February home and we are already booked for February 2012!

Couldnt not have found a better place to stay. Colorful, Comfortable, and Affordable. Very Convienient location with easy access to Resturants, Ice Cream Palor, and Fishing Pier. Within walking distance to a variety of stores and beach. I spent my time doing a few things since there were so many to do. Fishing outback on the canal dock with squid you can catch a variety of fish, I caught pin fish, pig fish, mullet, sea robins, Sheepshead, snakehead, a stingray, a puffer fish, and another fish that I had no idea what it was. I also did some fishing on City Pier located directly across the street from Briggs Diggs at the Bayou. There you can catch stingray, shark, spanish mackrel, sea trout, and snook. I have to admit I took full advantage of my time there. I also took the bikes out for a few rides and the time I spent on the beach was amazing. The ammenities were great. Everything you could need was there at your disposal in the condo such as beach towels, a cooler, boogie boards for the kids, and bikes. Not to mention the things most take for granted such as kitchen utensils etc.... We had the opportunity to see the Manatee's in the canal on numerous occassions which was really cool. I would defintely recommend this to anyone looking to spend a nice relaxing vaction on the island with or without children. Very Convienient, very comfortable, Ideal location, and an all around great place to stay.

We enjoyed our stay and will recommend this property to family and friends. The listing was accurate and the photo's reflected the appearance accurately. The unit was well equipped and clean. We enjoyed eating at the Sandbar, Two Scoops, City Pier and Jayne's. The fireworks show on the 4th was wonderful. The owner was helpful, when booking this property. We visit Anna Maria once a yr and would use this property again, if available.

we stayed in marty's place on anna maria island for a month. the condo is located on the north end of the island adjacent to tampa bay and has a canal and dock on the property. the condo is well equipped, very clean, and very comfortable. the location is convenient to many beaches, to the free trolley, and to many places to dine. the weather was not great (cool by florida standards) but we still enjoyed biking and walking along the beaches.

We loved our stay at Marty's place. We were especially impressed with how clean everything was, which isn't always the case with a rental property. The dock was great for fishing and for just relaxing on. The location was perfect--close to shops, restaurants, the beach, bike rentals, etc. We would definitely stay here again!

We were delighted with our stay at Marty's Place. It is quiet and tranquil, yet you are close to the center of activity on Anna Maria Island. Also, the condo is very well equipped. We like to cook for ourselves and found nothing lacking in the kitchen. Also the front closet has chairs and rods and reels for outside activities. While we didn't use them, we were impressed that they were available. These are usually locked up in the owner's closet. We would return in a heartbeat.

What a fabulous place. We stayed at "Marty's Place" for two weeks as a treat for our wedding anniversary. The condo is lovely, very clean, quiet and in a fantastic location. The Sandbar Restaurant where we had our wedding reception is just a short stroll down Pine Avenue. Thank you for such a pleasant time. We are looking already forward to our next stay. Manda & Rich

I stayed at Marty's place for a week in January 2009 with my husband, our (almost) 3-year-old son and my mother. We loved it and will definitely consider a return trip next year. The location is great and most amenities (beach, park, stores, restaurants) are within walking distance. The free shuttle is a stone's throw away. Wireless access allowed us to do some last-minute research before choosing restaurants, etc. Very clean, and included some bonus provisions such as fishing rods and beach towels so that we could pack a bit lighter. We have been back for a week now and our son is still talking about "our Florida house".

We've been coming to Anna Maria Island for 35+ years. We love going to the pier. This property has a great location. It's walking distance to everything you need. Everything was in great shape. If you have a lot of shower takers then you'll need to be patient.
Owner response:Sorry to hear about the challenge with the shower, however, 2 Bedroom, 1 Bath is definitely to small for 6 Persons. That's actually why we usually limit the number of renters to a max. of 4 persons.

Dear Martin and Svenja, I just want you to know how delighted my brother and family were with your new place. They loved your new condo -with dock just down the stairs, fishing pole and reel were the perfect beginning and end to every day. Thank-you for fitting them in at the last moment - and making them feel welcome, as only the two of you can do, with smiling faces and good cheer. Adele

Thank you for a wonderful time in your condo. The view from your condo is unbelievable. Waking up an putting the curtains aside and you can see the sunrise over the bay and the beach. Sitting on your boat dock, fishing and feeding "Buddy" the always hungry blue heron. And finally enjoying the sunset from your living room . We loved to sit there with the balkony doors wide open and enjoying a good glass of wine. We definitely will come back next year - or earlier. Thanks again Andreas & Kerstin
