Absolutely amazing cottage! Beautifully decorated and furnished with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Very very clean. Beds were very comfortable. Amazing views from everywhere in the home and outdoors. Wonderful front porch overlooking Old Rag Mountain. Simply amazing place. Would stay there again. Views of "Milky Way" and other constellations were amazing at 5 AM. Very dark night sky. Short distance from Old Rag Mountain if you like hiking. My husband and son in law loved hiking to the summit - (6 hour round trip up and back). We were blessed to have found this cottage and stay at this magnificent place. It was a rare find and we were so thankful for it. Made last minute arrangements and owners were so friendly and very accommdating. Would defintely recommend this place. I have never seen anything else like it. It was amazing!

Weekend Getaway

We had a wonderful weekend at this lovely cottage. Just minutes from Old Rag Mountain, we were able to sleep in just a bit (a must for our teenage daughters) and still make it to the summit by lunchtime. The girls loved the upstairs and had a great time with their friends. The kitchen had everything we needed to make breakfast and the sitting room and porch were lovely. We found the ammenities to include everything we needed and will definitely plan to return soon.

Great base camp

Just minutes from old rag parking, this was the perfect base camp for our hiking excusions. Beautiful home with plenty of space for our family of four, perfect for hitting the trailheads bright and early. Porch perfect for relaxing at days end. Property roamed by deer, turkeys and other animals. We played games in the large window seat and enjoyed star gazing. Visited nearby vineyards, and dined in Sperryville and Culpeper. Highly recommended, whether you are there to hike or rest. We will be back!

We had a great weekend in the country! Tuckr'd out is perfectly situated at the base of Old Rag Mountain and Sharp Rock Vineyards. We hiked, grilled out and toured some of the local wineries. Tuckr'd Out is just a few years old and so clean and new. We had a great time and we will definitely be back!

Lovely Getaway

My wife and I loved our weekend here. It's beautifully situated at the foot of the Old Rag and very close to Sperryville and everything from hiking trails to vineyards are nearby. The house itself is pretty, clean, and has a surprising amount of space. On top of all that the price is very reasonable, as are the friendly owners. Highly recommended.

A Gem of a Guest House

Guest: Diana (Leesburg, VA)

What a wonderful experience! A cozy, warm and private cottage that offers a peaceful weekend getaway but also fresh mountain air, beautiful sunrises and the chatter of wildlife. Tucker'd Out offers privacy that you will not find at a local B&B. The outdoor shower and rockers on the porch were divine. Visit nearby Culpeper for lunch, dinner and quaint shopping. Hike all day and supper at The Thorton River Grill or the Blue Rock Inn. For casual take out Rudy's Pizza is pretty good. Peggy Carter was extremely helpful and made us feel right at home.

Great family gather spot

We loved our stay for a fall weekend. The Tuckers cottage was perfect for relaxed, long conversations and "catch ups" with extended family. It also was the perfect launching off point for dining out, fly fishing, vineyard walking, hikes up Old Rag and down White Oak Canyon. The Tuckers treated us like old friends from the very beginning and couldn't have been more accomodating. The description is accurate. We had 5 people. I can't believe this serenity is so close to DC. Highly recommend.

Great Getaway

Date of Stay: 08/15/10 Review Submitted: 09/20/10

We (party of 3) stayed 4 nights and it really seemed like home. The place is spotless and everything you need for a comfortable stay is provided. Plenty of things to do in the area, or just sit on the porch and rock away looking at Old Rag. It is so close you can almost reach out and touch it. One big advantage is that the porch is covered so it can be used rain or shine. Outdoor shower is fantastic. Saw deer in the yard each night. Great ice cream just south a few miles at a small grocery store, can't remember the name. If you want to watch TV, you want have much luck so bring your favorite DVDs. Thanks the great stay.

We had a reunion of 5 high school friends stay very comfortably at Tucker'd Out. The house is very nice in a quiet, beautiful setting, very convenient to hiking in the Shenandoah Park. The owners are very friendly and helpful! We will be back again.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Tucker'd out. It was the perfect place to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. It is the most beautifully appointed, comfortable, spacious and sunny cottage we have ever seen. And the setting is exquisite, in the shadow of the mountains, with many acres of open and wooded space and lots of trails to explore. We saw lots of different kinds of birds and wildlife. It is one of the most peaceful and lovely places we have ever been. We hiked along the Hughes River nearby and fly fished. There are wineries with winetasting opportunites nearby, and we enjoyed an excellent meal at Foti's in Culpeper. The owners of Tucker'd Out were very accommodating and helpful, and their kindness and graciousness are apparent from the many little touches at Tucker'd Out. We highly recommend Tucker'd Out for a getaway or celebration of any kind, and it is large enough to comfortably accommodate a whole family.

We just spent a lovely weekend (3 nights) at Tucker'd Out. It was such an awesome weekend. The home is so clean and has so many nice amenities. You can tell that the owners spent a great deal of time decorating and considering the needs of their renters. The upstairs is perfect for children with plenty of space. Tucker'd Out was one of the most tranquil/peaceful places that we have visited. The best part was having all the windows open and listening to the wildlife in the early morning. We plan to come back in the Fall.

We just got back from a 4 day stay at Tucker'd Out. We loved it! The cottage is beautiful inside and out, very clean and private. We enjoyed exploring the paths to the creek, toasting marshmallows, hiking the White Oak Canyon Trail to the top, the friendly folks at the Country Store. Our daughter loved the PB teen decor upstairs. Our boys looked for Big Foot, but did not find him. We loved the solitude. Can't wait to go back! Thank you, Tucker family!

We had a GREAT stay! One word for the cottage is BEAUTIFUL! Everything is so comfortable, you couldn't ask for much else! The owners are extremely accomodating and the location is ideal for hiking, visiting nearby vineyards or the towns of Sperryville and little Washington. We cannot wait to return to Tucker'd Out!

Thank you so much for the use of Tucker'd Out! It is a beautiful home and we very much enjoyed our stay. David and I had the master bedroom, which was wonderful! Very comfortable and we especially liked being able to see the mountain all through the night -- even through the shades -- with the help of the moonlight! What a gorgeous sight to wake up to see, as well. You have decorated the place just as I would have -- I loved it!!!!! And with the our friends and their daughter, it worked especially well for them to take the whole upstairs "suite" :-) We really enjoyed the porch and rocking chairs, too. On our way home to Old Town Alexandria, we stopped through Middleburg where we used to live and had lunch and did a little shopping -- every time we get out to the country, we realize how much we miss the Virginia countryside. So, we hope that you will have us back again sometime -- it truly was a spectacular fall weekend and we had a very, very nice time. We appreciate all of your efforts in making it a special place to enjoy.
