Stay in a modern 1 bedroom apartment on the 4th floor (US) with an elevator and a view, in the middle of the very vibrant Montparnasse neighborhood on the Boulevard Edgar Quinet, next to the metro stop.

The apartment is quiet and calm, on a green courtyard with a view across the rooftops. Wake up to three large windows over looking a view of different Parisian styled buildings and green space. Large size modern bathroom with tub/shower combo. Bedroom with French queen size bed plus separate living room with a pull out couch.

Washing machine in apartment.

High Speed Internet and FREE calls to the USA and selected other countries included! PC included.

Small kitchenette great for preparing meals using some of the amazing products from the local farmer's market in front of the apartment twice a week. There are also many shops and supermarkets open daily right at your door.

Very close to the cemetery Montparnasse were such notables as Simone de Beauvoir are buried. The Montparnasse train station is two blocks away, as well as several Metro locations (Edgar Quinet, Vavin, Raspail to name a few).

The neighborhood has been a favorite of artists and writers for many years including Picasso and Hemmingway. Some of the great cafes they ate and drank at are right out your door and ready for you to sip a glass of wine or coffee while watching the Parisians as they live.

We recently spent 5 nights at this quiet apartment, which was perfect for the 2 of us,although it could accommodate 2 more on the sleep sofa. Two years ago we stayed there for a week. Jean Pierre's son, Denis, greeted us and was very helpful and available during our stay. The kitchen is well equipped and enabled us to cook food from the wonderful marche's that take place on Rue Edgar Quinet, right in front of the building. There is a large tub and shower, and a washer. There are also great small markets nearby, as well as cafes, movie house, and live theater, including a unique Comedia del Arte theatre just around the corner. The Montparnasse cemetery is across the street with incredibly creative and historical monuments and it is where Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir are interred. The Catacombs are nearby, as is the beautiful Luxembourg Garden. The apartment is light and airy, and there is a phone for free international and French calls. On our departure, Denis asked us if there was anything else that we could think of to improve the comfort of the apartment. Tough question. We couldn't come up with a thing.

I just returned from three weeks in Jean-Pierre's perfect apartment. I have rented apartments for many years in Paris and in different locations. This was, by far, the best apartment of any I have ever stayed in. The location is terrific; not only do you have the wonderful markets on Wednesday, Saturdays, and Sundays just across the street, but the neighborhood is full of great restaurants, a Picard and huge Monoprix, at least 5 movie theaters and three metro lines within a five-minute walk. It's only a 10-minute walk to the Luxembourg gardens and from there on to the Seine or the Latin Quarter. The Gare Montparnasse down the street can take you on great one-day trips to other cities. Don't miss the garden on top of the Gare! The apartment itself couldn't be more comfortable. My 6'3" son had plenty of room and in the king-sized fold-out couch and my queen-sized bed was very comfortable. The apartment is light, clean, quiet, and full of anything you need to cook. I was especially impressed with the generous amount of dishes, pots, pans, and silverware provided. Note there is no oven but the microwave and cooktop enable you to cook easily. It was particularly great to have a computer and a phone to use...even free calls to the U.S. This is a great advantage for those of us who travel without a laptop and phone. Jean-Pierre and his son Denis were extremely helpful and fixed the very few things that needed attention right away. I hope this will be my future home in Paris from now on.

We just spent one month in this lovely and bright apartment in Montparnasse. It was a wonderful experience in every way a traveller could wish. The owners have thought of everything that could possibly make living in their apartment comfortable and carefree. From the beds which are extremely comfortable to the appliances to the kitchen ware, etc. every detail has been provided to make the renter feel at home. Nothing has been overlooked. The apartment is equipped with everything one might need. The apartment itself is lovely and open and full of light from large windows that overlook a charming courtyard. The space is airy and open and quiet and guarded by a locked gate. The building has an efficient security system that adds to one's feeling of well being. The furnishings are modern and appealing. There is a large bathtub and a very good shower with constant hot water. The location is a dream. Located on a lovely tree lined Blvd. it's just around the corner from some of the most famous cafes in Paris. One can walk to the lovely Luxembourg Gardens in just a few minutes or the Saint Germain district in fifteen. There are two subways which are only moments away and wonderful shops and restaurants also just around the corner. And for anyone interested in the arts, one can imagine these streets and cafes inhabited by legends such as Hemingway and Fitzgerald. This is the area in which these greats did some of their most prominent work. And whatever you may need that you cannot find yourself, the owners will provide upon request. A true gem of this website.

We have used VRBO more than a dozen times in various cities, and this apartment is the best we've ever had the pleasure to rent. The reasons are quite simple: First, it's in a superb location --- within an easy 3-minute walk, you feel you are in the heart of Paris' cafes, quaint, authentic fromageries, boulangeries, patisseries, boucheries, outdoor markets, etc. Also, it's VERY well-served by the Metro and RER, both within a short walk, yet the apartment itself is very peaceful and quiet, as it faces out onto an interior courtyard. It's the best of both worlds: right in the heart, the center of the action of Paris, yet quiet and peaceful when you want to sleep and relax. Second, the owners are extremely kind and helpful people who obviously want their guests to feel comfortable. Working with them has been EXTREMELY easy. Also, the apartment is the best equipped of any VRBO we've ever rented. From the computer, internet and secure wireless, phone (including free calling to many countries including the States), TV, iron, coffee/tea maker, scissors, closet space, basically everything...they've thought of simply everything you need to be at home. Be sure to read their excellent guide to the neighborhood for tips on shops, cafes, creperies, etc. Rent this apartment...and enjoy. What a gorgeous city Paris is, and what a great location this is from which to explore the City of Lights!

We really enjoyed this apartment. Aside from a tendency to heating up in the afternoons if you don't close the curtains, it was everything we needed: quiet, clean, a nice firm bed with cotton sheets and duvet cover, ample closet and shelf space, pleasant kitchen table, clean and functioning washer and refrigerator and microwave, AND a big hot water heater that never ever ran out, even after filling the excellent bathtub. The TV and computer came in handy for checking our status while all the flights were on hold;--) It is in my favorite part of town, close to several casual (relatively) inexpensive delicious restaurants/bistros and three fine bakeries, and truly convenient to a lot of kinds of public transport. Besides all these things, Jean-Pierre and Lola are friendly and helpful. We'd stay there again.

Owner response: Dear Karen, thank you very much for your comment; you are welcome at Edgar Quinet again whenever you want, Best regards, Jean Pierre and Lola

Excellent residential neighborhood, with good choice of restaurants and transport, and excellent street market on Saturday and Wednesday mornings. Owner is very helpful. Apartment overlooks well-planted courtyard, with lots of light. Building is well kept up. Furnishings are basic Ikea but tasteful, adequate, and comfortable. Appliances are modern and very adequate. Highly recommended.

A wonderful rental. We have stayed in Paris numerous times, and we found this to be one of the most appealing places to rent. The apartment is large and clean, with many amenities. We greatly appreciated the free telephone calls to North America. Excellent Montparnesse location, yet the apartment is removed from street noise and thus quiet. Mr. Garcia is thoughtful and professional, and we will undoubtedly try to stay there in the future. For any vegetarians, don’t miss the nearby Dietetic Shop restaurant.

This is a very large flat in a great neighborhood of Paris. Everything in the flat is clean and modern, and huge windows let in sunlight all day. The building is also quite secure. It is very close to bars, restaurants, supermarkets (Franprix and Monoprix), bakeries, cinemas and more within a 5 minute walk. You can shop at Monparnasse or Rue de Rennes which are also quite close, as is the Alliance Francaise. The owner of the flat is very kind and responsive to any problems you might have. There are many, many channels on the flat-screen TV, free calls to certain countries on landlines and the flat is equipped with a computer so you don’t have to bring your own.

We had a wonderful time at the vacation rental! Very clean & quiet, we loved the bed and super-soft duvet! Mr. Garcia is an extremely nice host, who showed us around the proximity areas and recommended an outstanding 'brasserie' for breakfast! We recommend this apartment, near 3 main metro & bus lines!
