Nestled high in the hills between the Chiana and Arno valleys, the tiny hamlet of Barbazzano has been authentically restored to an exacting standard. Private without being remote, Barbazzano sits in the middle of over one thousand acres of vineyards, olive groves and farmland. Groceries and other essentials are a ten minutes’ drive away. The house is strategically located to provide easy access in under two hours to practically every major attraction in Tuscany.
Each of the eight bedrooms at Barbazzano is uniquely furnished with beautiful antiques, oriental rugs and appealing fabrics. Many have cathedral ceilings. Mattresses are highest quality foam, guaranteeing a good night‘s sleep. The house contains seven and one half baths, five of which are ensuite. Each bathroom features hand-crafted wall tiles from southern Italy. In-floor radiant heating throughout the house assures your comfort, even on cool days. Upon request a one bedroom suite can also be made available, permitting accommodation for a total of nineteen guests.
Barbazzano is a feast for all the senses. The distinctive aromas of flowering wild broom, roses in bloom, lavender and fragrant rosemary permeate the air. Our signature fruit is the blackberry, which ripens in profusion every August; pick all you can eat, or let us help you make your own preserves to take home with you. In September eat sun-warmed figs fresh from the tree and grapes from the vine.
During your stay, get to know our distinctive corner of Tuscany on foot or horseback. The hills surrounding Barbazzano contain numerous trails to explore. Hike or ride through acres of olive trees, past vineyards and up wooded hillsides. Barbazzano lies within a thousand acre game reserve; you may catch a glimpse of pheasants, hares, deer, woodpeckers and reclusive wild boar, all of which abound nearby.
