Islamorada The Sport Fishing Capital of the World hosts an array of activities from relaxing on our private beach to world class scuba diving. From our private beach you can go catch fresh Florida lobster, Go shelling, Reef snorkeling off Cheeca Rock Reef, See live coral reefs and catch Bonefish. Southern Diversion is located directly in the Village of Islamorada (Mile Marker 82) which means you are within 5 minutes of the best cuisine Islamorada has to offer. Robbie's of Islamorada (5 min car ride) offers many different marine activities including boat rentals, jet skiing, kayak's and a delicious restaurant. Don't forget to visit Scarface in the Tarpon Feeding area. Also at Robbie's they will cook your fresh catch at the Hungry Tarpon Restaurant. If you are in the mood for a nice stroll, Bentleys Restaurant is right outside our gate or you can walk to Morada Bay where you can enjoy a relaxed beach atmosphere.

Perfect for our Wedding in Paradise!!

We rented the Southern Diversion Estate in March, 2011. The house was even better than described or pictured! We came across this property on vrbo and knew it would be the perfect spot to have our wedding ceremony and reception. The house has 5 bedrooms. One bedroom with a King, 2 with Queens, one with a bunk bed and 2 twins, and a den with a pull out sofa sleeper. This was perfect for our group of 11. It would have comfortably slept a few more! The kitchen is nice and open to the living area, which opens to a nice screened in porch, overlooking the pool, beach, tiki hut area, and beautiful turquois water. There is a kayak to use onsite, and equipment for lobster catching! Our guys caught a baby one :) We also liked all of the loungers, hammocks, and swings. There is also a swingset for children. You will have all of the ammenities of home plus more! There is a resort right next door which charges an arm and a leg, and they do not have a beach like Southern Diversion!! The caretaker, Joe, was also great! House was spotless upon arrival, and he was there in the mornings to rake the beach and make sure we had everything we needed. Before our wedding ceremony, Joe lined our isle with tiki torches. The deck that leads to the dock made the perfect isle for us, leading to a spot between 2 palm trees. It was truly picture perfect! I would recommend this house for small, intimate weddings only. There would not be enough parking for large weddings, and I would worry about it getting too noisy for neighbors. We had a total of 15 people, which was perfect because we were able to use the teak chairs for our guests on the beach. Afterward, we took some really nice pictures on the beach, in the tiki hut, on the dock, by the pool, and in the hammock. We had a reception right on site, and did our own catering, using the grill that was right on site as well. We used Mile Marker Party Rentals in Marathon for our table rentals and ipod dock wireless speaker. Jill Atkinson, owner, also did our officiating, so it was a package deal!! They delivered and picked everything up which made it stress free! Overall, when I travel, I like to go to new places and stay at different locations, but I would go back to Southern Diversion anyday! It is close to alot of fun places in Islamorada (Our group of "thirty-somethings" had a great time at Holiday Isle and Woody's!!) You won't be disappointed with renting this place!!
