"The unoffical name of Trinity is Trinity Peninsula. Trinity is surrounded by three sides of Lake Livingston. The Sam Houston and Davy Crocket Natonal Forest is nearby. Trinity can offer a great day of fishing. With approxitately 40,000 acres of private and National Forest hunting is available for deer and other game.
Trinity is located on the north side of Lake Livingston in Trinity County. It is the largest town along the shores of Lake Livingston. Trinity is a growing community which offers small town charm. Trinity has population of 2,721. It is a melting pot of longtime residents and people who have moved in from all over the country. Young and old alike can enjoy living in Trinity.

I totally disagree with the first comment and on behalf of the owners I would like to say my family loved it!! Me and my very large family stayed here over the summer last year and it was indeed a wonderful experience ( we had some a/c issues at first but were immediately resolved by the owners) I was 7 months prego at the time as was my sister and considering the hot miserable summer we were having, it was very refreshing and nice!! The layout of the house was great....the kids loved the media room and the hot tub was perfect for the smaller of the kids. The swimming area is perfect so that you didnt have to worry about your big kids out in the open lake and the teens loved the game room!! The kitchen was open and big and the large table was perfect for our family game night traditions!!! We had a wonderful experience here!!!!

My extended family had a reunion here over Labor Day weekend 2010. I was not a part of the planning or communication with the owner. The floor plan was great for a large group of people. The deck area and dock were amazing. Great sunset views and so much fun just steps from the house. I feel the most significant issue was an insect problem. We arrived to ants in the kitchen and living room. There was food under the couch that was drawing them in. We continued to have ants in the house all weekend as well as roaches, spiders, and lizards. We had roaches in the bathrooms and bedrooms as well. The information binder that the owner left for us requested that we not flush ANY toilet paper, but put it in the trash. For me, with small children, that is a sanitation problem. Finally, the owner promotes the property as a 6 bedroom, when in fact, it is a 5 bedroom and one of them is a suite that has a queen bed on one side and a futon on the other. So there are 5 private rooms and 5 beds. We made it work, but had to rethink things when we got there. The bonus room is a finished attic space accessed from the inside of the room with the queen bed and futon. The fridge in the kitchen needs repair or replacing. It does not get cool enough, and I know the owner was aware of the this problem before we got there. We had a great time in spite of these issues, but it was disappointing.
Owner response:I was very sad to read this harsh review - I never spoke to this guest, and did not rent the home to her. the review I received from her aunt (the one who spoke to me extinsevely) was very positive. we have resolved the issues , and I'd like to address them one by one: 1) Insects - we have a contract with an exterminator. However, we can not guarantee that you won't see an ant, spider or lizard here and there. Our home is located ON the water, and the neighborhood is wooded. There are lots of wildlife ... Since being told about the crumbs found under the couches, we hired a new cleaning crew, and groundskeeper who is amazing and we never had any complaints after this one. 2) The information binder does not ask that toilet paper not be flushed. It asks to please throw away any paper or feminine products in the trash. This home is on a septic tank, and the ONLY toilet paper that can be thrown in the toilet, is the paper we provide. We don't want there to be a backup problem that guests would have to deal with (which has happenned in the past, and unfortunately the next arriving guests got the worst of it ) So, no we don't ask that you not flush toilet paper, just don't want you to flush other paper or tampons. 3) The home is considered a 6 bedroom home, however I do let all my guests know up front with photos, a walk thru video on this site, and a detailed description of the bedrooms before they sign a contract. The 6th bedroom is indeed a suite type room. however, it has a hallway and a bathroom in between the two rooms, and each side has it's own privacy door to the hallway. 4) the refrigerator in the kitchen somehow got accidentally set to a lower setting. This refrigerator is brand new , as are all the appliances in the kitchen. This is a beautiful kitchen with granite counter tops, and all stainless stell appliances. As a final note, I'd like to say that I spoke for hours and months with the Guest who rented this home from us - not the one who posted this review. We even became friends! She was apalled and saddenned that her nephew's wife posted this review, and she even apologized to me , saying this girl was a "brat" and "nuisance" to the whole family vacation. I am committed to giving guests a wonderful experience, and will do all that I can to ensure your vacation is wonderful!! Please keep in mind, this is a HOUSE - not a hotel. We do not offer daily housekeeping, and issues do arise with a HOUSE, that are normal. Thanks!!
