The location is excellent - so convenient to subway, Central Park, and all the wonderful aspects of the Upper West Side. Great to feel part of the neighbourhood, and great to arrive back 'home' to the apartment each day.

We stayed at Julia's rental for a week and had a great time. The location is our favorite; Upper West Side, near Central Park, great restaurants and easily accessible subway stops. The street is quiet and we liked the ground floor access. The apartment itself is very comfortable, well equipped and clean, including the bathrooms. We even had a family gathering at the apartment for an informal dinner of eleven! Thank You!

Stayed at this property with family in mid-October. The location was great, easy access to subway, markets, restaurants and museums. The apartment was very comfortable. Having two sleeping areas and two bathrooms was a huge plus ! The place could use a thorough cleaning and a few extra towels, but overall it was a good place to stay and I would probably choose it again.

Our family of 4 just returned from a Spring Break trip to NYC, and we were completely satisfied with this apartment! I was initially worried we would be too far away from "all the action", but there is so much to do and see within walking distance of this apartment. Plus, the neighborhood feels safe, the building feels secure, and it's easy to get around from this location. The info sheet the owner sent us was so helpful as we planned the trip. I also carried a copy of it around while we were there, because it had useful subway info, directions, recommendations, etc. The apartment was clean and exactly what the pictures show. Thank you Julia - and we will not hesitate to tell others about your rentals!

Myself, my husband and 8yr old daughter stayed at this apartment for Xmas (21st-28th Dec) and it felt just like a 'home from home'. The location is great, a lovely neighbourhood with plenty of good restaurants and shops to buy groceries etc if need be. Access to the subway is literally at the end of the street which made it perfect for us to get to the stores/attractions downtown. The apartment itself was clean, comfortable and in a lovely traditional New York 'brownstone'. The owner Julia is friendly, knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome. We would not hesitate to recommend this lovely apartment to anyone and we hope to return in the not too distant future. WE LOVE NYC!!!

This apartment is absolutely perfectly located for everything NYC has to offer and the "welcome pack" information we received made our stay even more enjoyable. We have visited at various times of the year and stayed in numerous locations and this was by far the best yet! The property and owner made our Thanksgiving one of the most memoral we have ever had. There is so much in the immediate vicinity that we could have extended our stay beyond 7 nights and still needed more time. We freqently walked alongside and inside the park, museums, Juliard, the Dakota... we got so much more from this location than we could have imagined possible We will absolutely rent this property again the very next time we are in Manhattan. It is more than ideal, it is perfect!

We rented this little apartment for the weekend of the NYC Marathon. It was a great location for not only the marathon but everything else! The finish line of the marathon (W 65th Street in Central Park) was only a few blocks away so after the race we were able to walk back easily. This apartment is in a great neighborhood and within walking distance to Central Park, the subway station, numerous restaurants, shops, etc. It sleeps 2 comfortably, 4 max! We'd definately rent this place again next time we're in NYC!!

We recently spent 3 weeks in the studio apartment on the first floor front of this building. It suited two of us perfectly as well as our visiting son who slept in the loft one long weekend. It was exactly as depicted in the information that Julia sent and a special bonus was the destination shower with excellent water pressure and abundant hot water. All of her recommendations on neighborhood amenities were extremely useful and we would add a note on a wonderful supper we had at the Emerald Isle pub around the corner. Whenever we return to NYC this is exactly where we would want to stay again. Safe, charming , convenient - we have already recommended it to a number of friends.

We stayed here for 7 days in september 2010 and had an amazing time. The location is perfect, two minutes from the calm of central park, two major subway stations within minutes, plenty of bars and restaurants a minute away on Colombus Ave and Broadway. The apartment is great, clean and the bed is soo comfy! Lovely to come back too after a busy day, a nice quiet street. Julia was great, really helpful and accommodating. We'd highly recommend this apartment to any visiting New York an we will definitely stay here again.

Location, location, location was great! We had easy access to central park where we had to be at 6:30 in the morning for the Regis and Kelly high-heel-a-thon. We had a great experience for our first stay in NYC. Julia's apartment was very clean and cozy. She was very helpful with our inexperience of the transportation system. We hope to visit again sometime!

It was nice to live like a New Yorker. Central Park 1/2 block away.. grocery store and wonderful delis & restaurants on Columbus.. subway just down the block.. this apartment is the way to go - very clean, plenty of space...I know I will be back ! We loved staying in this apartment and it was much more fun and relaxing than a hotel. We met friends most evenings and enjoyed being able to invite them round fro a drink or cup of tea before going out! It was very clean and well equipped with plenty of towels, etc. We had 2 young children (aged almost 2 and 4.5) and it was great being able to bring the buggy (stroller) in through the basement door. The location is perfect - within a few minutes of the park and the subway and we found lots of good restaurants nearby. Julia was friendly and helpful and we'd definitely stay there again if we could.

My husband and I (from Australia) stayed in Julia's appartment in September with friends from USA,. The appartment was great. A fantastic location to see everything in NYC.The local neighborhood has many great shops and restaurants, the subway was at the end of the road as was Central Park. We had everything we needed, wifi, tv,coffee machine, table and chairs. The bed downstairs was very comfortable and the addition of a half bath was great. Perfect price for 2 couples or a family. We felt like locals rather than tourists. Julia was very helpful and professional. We would definitely stay there again on our next visit to NYC. Highly recommended. Janet Melbourne Australia

THANK YOU JULIA.....!!!! Our family; I, my wife and our two daughters (11 & 16yo) stayed in this apartment for the first week of August 2010, 7 nights. What a great place!!! Location was awesome. Apartment was very clean, nice to have a kitchen, 1 1/2 baths. This apartment is approximately 1/2 hr. walk from Times Square, NBC, American Girl. 10 min. walk from Musuem of Natural History, 20min walk across Central Park to Metropolitan Museum of Art. Subway B & C at corner of 72nd & Central Park West. Lincoln Centre 10min walk, Juilliard School 10min walk, Shakespeare in the Park, 20min walk. 20min subway ride to WTC. Our absolutely favourite place while in New York was CENTRAL PARK, hands down!!!!!! We were in the park everyday that we were in NYC. Everything was close by, again a great location, would DEFINITELY stay at "Julia's Place" again. We wouldn't stay anywhere else......!!!!!!!! AND AGAIN THANK YOU JULIA......!!!!!

We recently spent 8 days living in the studio apartment in this brownstone as the other apartments were already booked. This worked out well for us, and our daughter joined my wife and I for 4 of those days. The studio met all our needs.......the full size bed was very comfortable and there was a loft for an extra person. The location is perfect if you are looking for a quiet residential neighborhood which is a short walk to Lincoln Center and only a 15 minute walk to Times Square. Subways and buses stop a half block away. Julia is a knowledgable and accomodating hostess. We will definitely return to this location. Highly recommended.

My husband and I lived in NY on the Upper West side for 5 years together (and I lived there for 22 years before that) so we love visiting NY and pretending we still live there. We always admired the beatiful brownstones in the neighborhood, so it was especially fun to stay in one and very comfortable. The apartment is quiet, well appointed, clean and has all the conveniences of home. This is a much better option than staying in a hotel. We would highly recommend staying in this neighborhood and in this apartment. Julia was very helpful but unobtrusive, and it was nice to have the owner right next door.

I lived in this neighborhood in the sixties and returned for my 40th high school reunion last week. This chic duplex apartment is clean, comfortable, and convenient. Julia is the perfect host, offering tips for things to do and places to eat, yet allowing us to feel like the place was our own. Columbus avenue offers a multitude of restaurants and shops yet W. 70th street is tree lined and quiet. Central Park is half a block away in the other direction. We walked everywhere - the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MOMA, the movies, out to dinner. If you want to live like a New Yorker during your visit this is the place for you. Highly recommended and we will definitely be returning!

This was our third time staying in the Upper West Side. Previously, we had stayed in hotels which were just fine but we wanted to try an apartment this time. It's really THE way to go: not only do you have more space and a real kitchen (it's just as much fun shopping the food markets and ordering delivery from the countless restaurants as it is to eat out) for about the same cost, you also get an authentic New York living experience plus Julia, who is a wonderful host. As a native, fifteen minutes with her beats hours of pouring over travel guides. We were here to celebrate our 50th birthdays and would love to do it again!

Stayed with 3 people at the apartement for a week (1 person only 3 nights) beginning of May. Location is great, Central Park just a view steps away and the neighborhood simply fantastic with tons of little shops, restaurants and cafes. The apartement was sufficiently equipped, all sheets and towls new, the bed downstairs good the sleep in, the couch upstairs a little "lain through". We got all the information we needed from landlady Julia. Overall, I can absolutely recommend the apartement for a longer duration/stay in NY for 2!

Central park is just a 1/2 a blk down along with the subway access which made getting around very easy. We will definately stay here again on our next visit. Thanks Julia!!!!! :)

When most people visit New York, they stay mid-town or in Times Square and never get to experience the joy of living like a New Yorker. We used to live just down the block from here for three year, before work took us back to Los Angeles. Julia's wonderful apartment gave us a chance to pretend that we never left. Not only is it half the price of many New York hotel room, it's twice the size. Having a kitchen is great, especially since the city will eat your money like you wouldn't believe. At first our 10 year old son was concerned because the "hotel" didn't have room service, but every restaurant on the Upper West Side delivers (including McDonald's) and it gets there fast and hot. Julia was extremely helpful and friendly, but never obtrusive. We had such a great time, we decided to stay an extra night, but since the apartment was rented out already, we moved to Julia's other unit on the 4th floor, which we also loved.

Can't say enough good things about Julia and her wonderful Upper West Side apartment. The location could not have been better, or our host more helpful. It is a very short walk to Central Park, subway stations, museums, and the shops and restaurants along Columbus and Broadway. The apartment itself had everything we needed, and we look forward to our next stay at this gem.

This apartment is just as described. It is a couple of minutes to Central ParK and with easy access to the subway we had no trouble getting around to the many attractions of New York. There are lots of great restaurants close by and a great diner for breakfast. We also made good use of the self catering facilities especially on Christmas Day with great supplies to be found at the excellent food emporium nearby. Julia couldn't have been nicer and was a real help with advice on restaurants and events. I will certainly stay at this apartment again and will recommend it to my family

This apartment is ideal for anyone who is on holidays or in New York on business. It is situated in an ideal location which is close to the 1,2,3 or B,C,D (about 40metres) Subways. It is a 50 metre walk to Central Park and a block to Broadway. It is a nice quiet neighbourhood near plenty of cafe's and resturants. The apartment was exactly as described. It was very clean and comfortable. It feels like home after a few days. The building owner was extremely helpful and her advice saved us a fair bit of money during our stay. It gives you a good feel of what it is like to live in New York. When people hear you are staying in this area they are very jealous. I would recommend this apartment to anyone over a hotel. It has everything you need. You are a short walk from Columbus Circle and many attractions that are around or near Central Park.

Hi My husband and another couple stayed at this apartment last week. we have never been to New York City and this apartment was perfect. The location was wonderful and easy to get around. the resturants and shopping in area were terrific. The one thing I would say is on the main entry of vrbo it states 1.75 baths which means an extra shower to me.(at least in Wisocsin) It is only a 1 1/2 bath which worked fine. the landlord happened to be home and is in the same building whichwas great and helped out alot.ENJOY! thank you Julia and craig Sara and Gary from Wisconsin
