If you're looking for someplace that is away from home but everything you're used to, clean, modern, well furnished and well stocked with all the stuff you need to cook, dine and entertain, this is the place... Plus the design and layout are wonderful... The view from the balcony is just amazing.. Doesn't get better than this, ANYWHERE...

Spring Break 2012

Thanks for another outstanding Destin vacation. The weather was absolutely perfect this year to go along with the fantastic accommodations provided. We really appreciated the extra beach umbrella/chairs this year, as everyone in our party had a place to comfortably sit at the beach. It's these added touches that make renting from you a pleasure. It still amazes me how nice BR409 is and you guys are always doing something to make it even better. There are many different choices to stay in Destin, but for us, there is only one.

Owner response:In addition to adding some new interior upgrades, we also wanted to add some exterior upgrades, so TWO sets of beach chairs seemed appropriate. These condos were purchased so others could enjoy, as we have never spent a night in this condo. However, we do live in a neighboring community, thus get to enjoy the area every day.

Destin, Fl vacation

We had an excellent stay in Destin. The room was gorgeous. It had everything that we needed. There were a lot of things that we would have not needed to bring because the room provided it (Beach chairs, toys, rafts, kids books and dvd's, etc.) We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return in the future. Our cocker spaniel, Zoe, wants to especially thank you for letting her stay!!!! Also, our girls loved the bunk beds (even though they were too little yet to sleep on the top bunk). The one and only complaint that we had was that the condo stated it had a heated pool and it was not heated. In fact, it was freezing cold. We could not get in the pool all week long. Even our children would not get in it because it was so cold. That was disappointing because our kids love the pool. Other than that, we loved our room and stay!!!

Owner response:Thank you for your comments and we were the pioneers of Pet Friendly rentals in Destin. We are VERY Pet Friendly. We regret the cold spell that hit the area during your visit. Unfortunately the association does not heat the pool until Thanksgiving.

Beach Vacation

We just returned from this beautiful condo and can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our visit. We have been to Destin several times but never in this area, always nearer the bay area.This area is perfect and right at the beach. The grounds and pool are beautifully kept! This unit being on the fourth floor, gives you a great view of the beach. We are already talking about bringing our bikes next year to enjoy the walking/bike path right in front of the condo. Our only negative comment,is that the pool was so cold! We read in one review, that the pool was heated in March, could have used a little heat in October. Our granddaughter was in there everyday, for short periods of time, even though it was bitter cold.

My husband and I stayed for 2 weeks in September 2011 in this condo and it was the best vacation we have every been on! Location! Location! is great! The views of the ocean are awesome along with a nice size balcony. We were able to take our little girl Sophie. (7 pound maltese) The decor was nicely done and gave me some ideas to take back home! We will stay at this condo again! Thanks Jim and Sherry

Excellent family vacation resort

We have stayed here several times over the last several years and always enjoy it. The complex isn't too large like some of the high rises in Destin but has all of the amenities one would want. The room is furnished nicely and always clean...plenty of room. The large balcony is very nice to sit and watch the incredible ocean view. We like the location b/c it is a nice equal distance to just about anywhere you would want to go to in Destin. The large pool is nice and having it heated in March is very nice to swim since the ocean in March can be a bit chilly. The umbrella and chairs are a plus as well for the beach. Photos on the website are very accurate. Waverunner and kayak,parasail rentals are very nearby for the more adventurous. Excellent shopping at Destin Commons and Silver Shells mall as well as Grand Boulevard. We have enjoyed Harry T's,The Back Porch to eat but probably would not go back to Bubba Gump(long wait and food was not that great).Captain Daves has a nice view but food is mediocre for the price. Jim and Sherry have always been more than helpful to our family since we have stayed in their unit...going way out of their way when we had car trouble once.Would not want to stay anywhere else.

Fun times at Beach Retreat

This unit is great! It sits across the street from the Gulf and has an amazing view of the beach. We thought the two lane street would be a distraction, but it was barely noticable. The unit itself is very nice with comfortable furniture, a good sound system, and good TVs. We especially love the huge fans which move a lot of air on hot days. Having breakfast and a devotional on the balcony each moring was wonderful. A great unit for a reasonable price. The owners are also very nice to work with and make everything easy to rent this condo. It is also pet friendly for dogs to 35 pounds and the owners do not require an extra pet deposit if you keep your dog groomed and don't leave any pet hair behind. Our family has styed at this unit 3 times over the past 4 years and we will be back next year.

Wonderful, Relaxing Vacation

We simply enjoyed our stay at your condo. You were so very helpful with informing us about the area seeing is was our first time in Destin. The condo was simply wonderful; clean, beautfiully decorated and comfortable. What a spectular view from the balcony...enjoyed having breakfast or a few drinks later each day. Also loved the speaker system in the condo which included the balcony. We can't get over how relaxing our visit was. We'll definitely be back!

Spring Break 2011

We have rented this unit before and will do so again. Whether spending your day on the beach under the provided umbrella or enjoying the view from the balcony, you can't have a more relaxing vacation. The unit is beautifully decorated and has all conveniences (HDTV, WiFi, DVD, plenty of TVs, etc.). We love renting from Jim & Sherri because you know your accommodation will be top notch. Even though spring break can be a crowded time in Destin, the property is small enough to have that quaint feeling, but large enough to have all needed amenities. The location can't be beat. When we're coming to Destin, we don't even look for other properties.....we just e-mail Jim & Sherri.

We enjoyed our stay at your lovely condo. It was wonderful, and I have to say the beds were so comfortable and the unit was decorated so nicely that we had a really nice experience. Just wanted to say thanks for offering a beautifully kept, sparkling clean home away from home. Our dog is part of our family and we don't like having to sacrifice travelling w/our furry friend in order to have nice accommodations - your condo was a treat.

Great Condo! When we arrived we meet the owner very nice man he walked us thur everything about the condo. It was very clean the view from the balcony was great. I will book this condo again.

My family and I just returned from Destin on June 26, 2010. We stayed at Beach Retreat, this is our second year to stay there and I am in the process of booking for next summer as well! It is absolutely beautiful and the view is breathtaking! We arrived on Saturday June 19, 2010 and the beach was gorgeous as always. The water was crystal clear. We were also very aware of the oil spill and the fantastic job the City of Destin is doing monitoring the situation. There was a presence of planes, coast guard, boats (a lot of boats), helicopters everywhere. We were most impressed with all the monitoring that was going on and how on top of things the people of Destin were. Wednesday night we did have tar balls wash up with the waves. They were never on the actual beach, but sometime before 7:00 am on Thursday morning they were gone and the beach/water was beautiful again. The beach never closed, and we continued to have the presence of all the monitoring and clean up crews. It did not interfere with our trip at all! As always we love Destin and our hats off to the people of Destin for the fantastic job they are doing! The food, atmosphere and sound of the waves equal paradise! We will be back next year to our home away from home! Thanks for all you do and sharing your beautiful condo! Ann & family Dallas Texas
