This loft/apt is perfectly located. It lies in the living heart of Montmartre, the “Abbesses” district. It stays 50 footsteps from the place des abbesses, where the subway, and a charming & lively square are located. The building stays in a small street next to the square. The loft is bright, thanks to its large skylight and 2 windows.

This loft owner is an artist of rare talent : a portraitist.
The loft belongs to an Australian friend of us, a portraitist. In this apartment, among many other paints, Ralph Heimans painted the first official portrait of Princess Mary of Denmark. It received widespread critical acclaim in Danish, European and Australian Media.
Transportation is easy. Most interesting Paris spots may be reached in 15 minutes.

. Montmartre is a village within Paris: it combines the atmosphere of an ancient village with trendy shops and fabulous restaurants. Many artists and movie stars live in the district. It is a very charming and restful area to be appreciated after a whole day shopping and walking through museums.
? As you walk through Montmartre you will pass many winding and picturesque streets with fascinating houses, stairs and wonderful views over Paris. Look for the Montmartre Vineyard, walk to 'Place du Tertre' where artists will offer to draw your portrait and see Picasso’s house and the Salvador Dali museum. Visit the famous Sacre Coeur Moorish-looking church.
? On the 'Rue des Abbesses' you will discover shops, cafes and clothing stores and in 'Rue Lepic' you will come across the market, wine shops - the cheese shop was rated n° 3 in France – bakeries and charcuteries. It’ll take a few days to select your preferred “café” !!! Walk down to the Moulin Rouge and experience the Paris nightlife.
? On the north side, close to the “Lamarck” metro station is the famous Rue du Poteau Market as well as quaint antique shops.

Thank you for a wonderful short holiday in Paris. The apartment was cool and comfortable even when it was 35 degreees outside. The location was perfect and we loved the local cafes and restaurants, I thought places like those had all disappeared! It was great to be able to wander out just a few hundred meters for an aperitif or dinner and find such an eclectic mix of food and flavours! And for that perfect Parisian tourist experience we loved the restaurant and cafe Les Buttes de Montmartre where a more classic menu and more bourgeois experience can be had and all with a wonderful view down the steps and out over the roof tops of Paris. You were right all the beds were extremely comfortable and the polished concrete floor is a great comfort to sore feet! The storage space was great too and the whole place felt spacious and was easy to use. Thanks again for a lovely holiday, Jane, Grace and Charlotte

Jean-Noel, I just wanted to take 5 minutes to let you know how much we enjoyed the apartment. We have a young family (8 and 10) and the apartment was perfect for our stay in Paris. The proximity to the Metro (30 meters away) made it super easy for us to access anywhere in paris in 15-20 mins. It was nice at the end of our long days knowing that we had such a short walk from the station. The location within the neighbourhood is great as well. There are several great restaurants and shops within minutes from the apartment. Place du Tertre and Sacre-Coeur are a short 10 minute walk away as well. Highly recommended. Ian

We rented this apartment for one week, mid-September 2010. The apartment itself is a dream, but the location is beyond comparison. We would have been perfectly content never leaving the immediate area. Most importantly (for us, anyway), the Cassans were totally accommodating and professional. Do not hesitate to rent this wonderful apartment!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+.

My wife, my self and our 3 year old son stayed in this property in July 2009 for one week. We can confidently recommend this lovely apartment to anyone. We will stay here again when we travel to Paris next. The owner was very helpful and everything was clean. The location, on Place de Abbesses was a dream. It was easy to get anywhere, that is if you wanted to leave one of the loveliest spots in Paris.
