Charming,Cozy and Calm Flat on Montmartre
- Minimum stay:1 night
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
When you arrive you enter an art deco building from 1930. We are sure you will find the apartment both calm and serene which must be just what you need after a hectic day exploring Paris. The area is very safe so don't worry coming home late at night,or if you are only girls traveling together. A French painter used to live in this apartment for many years and we have kept his easel and some of his works as decoration.
The flat has been completely renovated and decorated with a combination of old and new..Simplicity and clarity with colors are the themes we have used to decorate the apartment. Sunlight streams into the apartment from different directions, giving it the advantage of being bright and inviting. There is also a private court yard where you can sit outside and enjoy.

The property at Avenue Junot is lovely, beautifully decorated and a lot of thought has been involved in making it a very special place to stay. We absolutely loved it! It is perfectly clean, spotless, and very very well kept, the light coming in through the large windows is beautiful. It is on the ground floor with windows to a inner court, so a very quiet location, although you are in the midst of a very busy area. It is a perfect location, fantastic place to come back at the end of a day exploring Paris. The final touch is the most lovely host, Marianne, who is extremely helpful and kind and makes you feel like you are coming to visit a friend! I will recommend this property to my friends or to anybody planning to spend time in Paris. The best boulangerie on Rue des Abesses is just round the corner (you will recognize it because of the large queue outside), and many good restaurants on Rue Lepic.Recommended for: Girls getaway, people with disabilities, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

My husband and I stayed in this lovely apartment for a week this fall and we couldn't be happier. The place is extremely well appointed and has all the amenities to make for a very comfortable stay. We prepared several meals here - easily done given the kitchen has everything you could ask for including a superb garlic press and several great markets nearby! We slept very well in the beautiful bedroom looking out over the private garden. After spending days walking for miles in this busy city - dodging mopeds and busy Parisiennes - it was a pleasure to return to this quiet and peaceful oasis in the heart of Montmartre. Marianne, the woman we've rented the place from, was very helpful explaining everything inside the place as well as giving us some great advise about the city. She even booked us the taxi to the airport so we wouldn't be taken for a ride! Amazing! We hope to come back and spend more time here. We wouldn't even think of renting a different apartment.Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

Awesome place Marianne was terrific. Highly recommend. Parking was an issue the meters were only good for 2hours if you can find a spot. I left my car there for 3 full days and got 1 parking ticket for 17 euros all in all not bad. Place was clean and in a great location. We enjoyed a week long stay at Avenue Junot - August 12th - 20th,2012. Our two granddaughters were with us. All that is said and praised in previous reviews is well deserved. Marianne is the perfect hostess, she greeted us on a hot sunday afternoon, made us very welcome; took time to answer our many questions. We enjoyed a very comfortable stay, the apt. has wonderful cross ventilation, which kept us cool on the hot days of August. Julia and Sophie always managed to find boulangerie-patisserie, to bring home the croissants, pains au chocolat and delicious breads and quiches. A short distance from the apt. are two markets: the Junot village - G-20, and the Franprix, with wonderful varieties of foods, vegetables, fruits, meats, wines and cheeses. We enjoyed our breakfasts and dinners at home, after a full day of discoveries. Many good restaurants are noted in the apt.'s book. We highly recommend Avenue Junot for your next visit to Paris, with or "sans enfants". Merci et au revoir, Marianne. My husband and I had the best week in Paris ever! The apartment was total delight- beautifully appointed, comfortable, convenient, everything you could hope for. The location is superb. Maryanne was so helpful. She even had 2 umbrellas for us to use in the rain. The hydrangeas in the courtyard were in bloom for us, too. My only regret is that we spent only one week here in Paris. Next time, we are going to have to spend more time and explore more from this charming place. Thank-you so much Maryanne.Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

My husband and I stayed in Marianne's flat for a week and really enjoyed it! After a long day of walking all over Paris, we looked forward to coming home to our quiet, comfy, spacious flat near Montmartre. It's very well-equipped with all that you'll need for a nice stay (the only thing missing is a bar of soap for the shower:)). The bed and pillows were the best thing...we slept great! Marianne even provides bathrobes and slippers to keep you cozy. The kitchen is cute and practical. We bought food at a local grocery and ate breakfast at the apartment each day. There are two wonderful boulangeries close on Rue Caulaincourt that made heavenly croissants, pain au chocolate and quiches. Since there were so many great restaurants, we ate out for all the other meals. In her thick folder of information which gives details about the flat and the neighborhood, Marianne suggested a restaurant called "Au pied du Sacre Coeur" which is at the bottom of a mountain of stairs. It was so good, that I'm still thinking about their onion soup and savory lamb tagine! Also, as you're walking up to Montmartre, you'll hear classical music coming from a piano bar. Go inside and at least have a drink...the piano player is absolutely fantastic! We were wondering how well the phone/wifi would be, but no worries...they worked flawlessly, which is a nice benefit to be able to call the U.S. for free. Also, the steps around town aren't as difficult as you may think. Instead of taking stairs, you can often just walk up the next street (at an incline) and in the metro, there are very large elevators that you can ride. If you want an authentic Parisian experience in a quaint part of Paris, rent Marianne's flat!Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

This wonderful apartment was our home for three nights during an extended trip celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. We could not have found a better place to spend our time in Paris. The apartment is a wonderful oasis in the middle of a beautiful neighborhood. We choose to stay in the Montmartre area as we loved it so much on our last visit and just wanted to experience (and fantasize) what it would be like to actually live here. We shopped at the local produce stands, grocery stores, flower shops and bakeries and made all our own meals in the well equipted kitchen. We visited all the local landmarks and tried to immerse ourselves in the culture for the short time we were able to stay. Marianne is a delight. From the first e-mail to our meeting with her on the day of arrival she was wonderfully pleasant to work with, even arranging a pick up for us on the morning of our departure to get us to the airport and off to our next adventure. I highly recommend this very charming and spotlessly clean apartment to anyone on their next trip to Paris.Recommended for: Girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Well, maybe if you look, and look, and look, and look, maybe, just maybe there's a nicer apartment out there. But I doubt it. Do yourself a favour and stop wasting time and just book Marianne's. You will be completely satisfied. The location is great. I was originally looking for something a little closer in, but it was a complete non-issue: a) you're all of ten minutes (tops) from say, Opera by Metro or bus. Big deal. b) the local area is lovely and great to wander around. You can stroll to Sacré Coeur and Place du Tertre and all the touristy bits (you're a tourist - get over it), or head down to Rue Caulaincourt, a pleasant but somewhat more work-a-day area. The apartment itself is a delight. It was quite big enough for a family of four (children 13 and 10). It was comprehensively equipped, stylishly decorated and furnished, and very well maintained. We were there over New Years, and the it was more than adequately heated. It is on a courtyard, not on the street, so is very quiet. Marianne took great pains to meet us, get us settled in and orient us. My single grumble is that I found the mattress on the bed a little hard. Now I’m back home and I have post holiday blues and am terribly homesick for the flat on Avenue Junot.Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Dear Peter and Family Thank you so much for the nice words. I'm happy you enjoyed the apartment end the area.Montmartre is so special. We now have an extra soft top mattress to put on the bed if our guests prefer a soft bed.Till now we have had only positive comments on the bed but it is so indvidually how we prefer to sleep. Thanks for letting me know, like this we can make it even better. It was a pleasure meeting you and your family. Hope to see you all back one day Kind regards Marianne

I stayed in this beautiful Montmartre apartment with a friend for eight nights in January, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an alternative to expensive, noisy Parisian hotels. The apartment was very clean and fully equipped with everything I needed (except for a hairdryer, which I could not locate). I enjoyed having the option of sleeping in and preparing a leisurely brunch for myself. There were several convenient bakeries, a nearby wine shop with a great selection, and a few smaller groceries which supplied anything I needed during the week. The furnishing was lovely, and I was kept warm and cozy, even during the winter. The wireless internet worked flawlessly the entire trip as well, which was an important feature for me as a writer who telecommutes. The only details that I would have appreciated some advance knowledge about were the following: (1) I didn't have the opportunity to meet Marianne, and this was disappointing after reading so many kind words about her and always receiving prompt replies to my emails. Instead, I was met at the apartment by Martine (who cleans the apartment) and, due to some communication glitches, she had to rush through the check in, which left me a little frazzled; and (2) the bed's mattress was a bit firmer than I prefer, which took a few restless nights to get used to. Even with these details, I would readily return to 12 Avenue Junot. It made the perfect home base for my week in Paris and provided a warm, welcoming, and memorable experience.Recommended for: Girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

Thank you so much for the nice words and taking the time writing this review.I'm sorry we didn't meet this time,I always try to meet all our guests and juggle around with my work hours, cause I think it's an important part, we are not "pro renters",we both have jobs and are just dooing this on top so we can pay the home for Philippes mother.I had to work that Monday,I wish you had called me if there was any questions.I'm always avaliable on my cell phone. I think some guests by mistake have taken the hairdryer with them, so I have now bought a new one ,sorry for that, I did not realize it was gone.About the bed we have now bought a soft top matress, so guests who prefer a less firm bed can put it on and sleep tight ;-) I promise you Megan, next time I will check you in ;-) Kind regards Marianne
