Kalkan, once a Greek village, lies nestled in the hills of the Mediterranean coast of Turkey between Fethiye and Kas. Today it is most often described as a romantic hillside town that has carefully preserved the historical center buildings. Though small -- Kalkan has a population of only 2700 residents -- that number swells in the summer season with visitors from many countries who seek sun, sea and good food in a charming atmosphere. The town is quaint, pictoresque and offers the visitor of any age myriad shops and activities to delight in.

For the explorers, there are several nearby archeological sites, as well as a splendid canyon with a rushing waterfall and rafting.

For sandy beach lovers, Patara beach offers 18 kms of unspoilt sand and sea just 20' away.
