The Cottage by the Bay is located in Hawaii Kai in the oceanside Portlock neighborhood. It is attached to the main house with its own private entrance. You will step out to a quiet path leading to the Portlock seaside, beautiful views and a small beach where enjoy the sea and beautiful sunsets.
The cottage sleeps two people with plenty of room to call home for a few days. It is a large studio cottage furnished with a queen size bed, a kitchenette equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster and necessary utensils and dishes. We stay at your disposal should you need anything else, we’ll be glad to help.
The in-room private bathroom has a shower stall. Hair dryer, linens and towels will be provided and beach towels are on request.
For your comfort, the cottage is also air conditioned, has a 37' Flat screen TV, cable and Free Wi-Fi access. Ironing board and iron are at disposal.
The cottage is a non smoking.

We stayed at the Cottage by the Bay for 7 days on our honeymoon. The area was very beautiful and quiet away from the craziness of the city. I loved being able to walk down to the beach in the morning and drink my coffee and sit there at night and watch the amazing sunset over the ocean! I would recomend staying here, we had all privacy from the renters, yet if we needed anything they were right there to help. We would stay there any day, again and again!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

I spent just over a week at the cottage, and have nothing but good things to say about it. This upscale residential neighborhood is a gem. Convenient to sightseeing (5 minutes to Hanauma Bay and the beautiful drive around the east side of Oahu) and just a short 15-20 minute drive to town, traffic depending. Convenient, but way off the tourist track and very peaceful. It provided a perfect home base for me to get around the island. The cottage itself is thoughtfully laid out (very spacious for two – much larger than the average hotel room), thoughtfully furnished, and thoughtfully appointed with everything you might need - hair dryer, iron and ironing board, beach chairs, beach towels, even umbrellas! It seemed like every time I thought to myself, "I wonder if there's a ... [wine opener, quart sized ziploc bag, extension cord, etc.], I'd open one of the kitchen drawers or the closet and find what I needed. The beach nearby was lovely and peaceful (the fact that it's a little shallow and reefy and not great for swimming means you'll often have it all to yourself - a huge plus in my book). Loved watching the paddlers go out of Hawaii Kai at sunset. While the cottage is attached to the main house, it felt quite private (you will get the occasional beach-goer walking down the driveway through to the public beach access, but all gave a friendly wave and an Aloha). I barely saw nor heard the owners, who clearly made an effort to respect my privacy. Yet if I needed anything, I only needed to call or drop Aline an email and she would graciously come to my assistance. The wi-fi was fast and reliable, important to me as I spent the mornings working -- though sitting at the little cafe table on the porch sipping coffee hardly felt like working. Very handy to have a shopping center right across the highway with restaurants, coffeeshops, etc. A nice grocery store (Hawaii Kai Safeway) is just a short drive towards town. Having a kitchenette made it easy to stock supplies for breakfast, bring home leftovers, etc. I'll definitely stay here again on future trips if it's available, and highly recommend it to anyone who wants something different than the usual Waikiki/hotel experience -- peace and quiet and a taste of what it's like to live in Hawaii, and not just visit.

I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a nice quiet cottage. It is a cute little place, very well decorated and maintained. Perfect size for two. The location was great, easy to find and very close to main roads. The beach was just a short walk from the Cottage. As described it is a small beach and not the best if you're looking for catching waves but it is nice and perfect for sunsets! Hanauma Bay is just 5 minutes up the road and several other beaches with nice waves are within a half hour drive. The owner lives in the house the cottage is attached to and she was very helpful. The internet was fast, secured and reliable. Thanks again for a great place to stay!

Studio cottage had everything one needs for an enjoyable stay. Neighborhood was very quite. Ocean was only steps away. Hiking trails and swimming beaches were close by. Stores, library, restaurants and local farmers markets were also close. Property was clean and well-maintained.
