We found this home after our original rental (found and planned on since October) was sold in june. We were so upset at the time but ended up feeling very lucky. I am positive that the other home could not have been as wonderful. The owner was so helpful and informative on the phone, we knew what to expect when we arrived. The home and view actually surpassed all expectations! What a lovely and well maintained vacation home! We would plan on staying there every summer in the future but we have grand-dogs that had to be left behind this year :( Our daughter, son-in-law and baby enjoyed the large bedroom in the back. Great for a napping and earlier to bed baby. My 82 year old father from Arkansas (with his walker) was able to manage the entire home and the amazing deck. He says he loved every minute there. We all thank you for a great vacation.Recommended for: People with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We had such an amazing time at this beach house! It was exactly as described and more. Everything about it was perfect and we could not have asked for a better property. We will definitely be renting this again for our excursions to the Oregon Coast.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Overall, this is a really nice house with a fabulous view. We were a bit disappointed in a few things though. For one the hot tub did not work and this is the main reason we chose this house over similar listings. When we called to ask about it, the owner mentioned the last 4 renters had similar problems (so it was something they knew about). The back bedroom is a converted garage which is fine, however the shower was so cold, it was unusable, so all 10 of us had to use one bathroom for showering. Also little things like no plugs in the bathroom. The listing also says that there are 2 daybeds in the living room which was not the case when we stayed there so my 72 year old dad was sleeping on a very small couch. When we called to inquire about this, they said they had been redecorating and moving furniture - again, they knew the listing wasn't accurate and we specifically needed a place to sleep 6 adults and 4 kids. Normally, I wouldn't complain about things like this, but since we paid 400+/nt we were expecting things as stated. As mentioned, overall, it is a very nice house (smaller than the pictures show), but we were disappointed with the above issues.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: The amazing view, clean and beautifully maintained home is that - a home – and with every home, at times, things that happen. Unfortunately, we were having issues with our hot tub - mostly due to a faulty control panel which we have since replaced (with the part being in transit from across the country). We have also partnered ourselves with an on call hot tub company who provides service 7 days a week (between the hours of 9am to 5pm) that our guests have direct access to. The hot water has been checked by our maintenance man and it is indeed working in the entire house. The shower valve may be unclear to some people as the big handle is for pressure and the small lever is for temperature. What may have happened is that the small lever was turned to the cold position and remained there with its existence unknown. This issue was not brought to our attention till we read this review so we were not able to properly respond to our guests. During December, we were updating the furniture to better suit our guests and did not want to update our listing until we received the updated photos from our photographer (which unfortunately missed this renter’s stay). Our listing/photos/floorplan now accurately show that we can comfortably accommodate nine guests. We accommodated this guest’s request to waive the hot tub fees as he mentioned that he was a war veteran who wanted to enjoy a nice holiday with his family. We are very sorry to hear that this is what they took away from the stay with all the other amazing attributes of our home.

We loved this house! It was very comfortable for our group of eight, close to the ocean and a short drive to town. And the hot tub was perfect - nothing better than relaxing in it while watching the ocean. We will definitely be back!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

Seascape was the PERFECT setting for our annual "Sister Celebration". We found the owners to be very responsive and helpful with the booking process. The home is well suited for groups with comfortable accomodations. The view of the ocean is SPECTACULAR. The only thing better than the view is seeing it while sitting in the home's hot tub. Seascape delivered all that we had hoped and more.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

We stayed at the Seascape beach house in Mid June and had a very nice time. As we expected, the weather was on and off but provided us a few sunny days to lay on the beach and few days to go to Cannon Beach and Manzanita to be tourists. From what I could tell, the house was built in the 40s/50s and was recently renovated. The original garage was closed in and made into the back bedroom(with the king bed). The other two bedrooms(one with a queen bed and the other with the bunks)are on the north side of the house and closer to the ocean. There is a normal size galley kitchen, a small/medium size dining space and large living room with fireplace, tv and two lounger style couches. The house was just the right size for the three of us, but think it would be comfortable for more people(4-5 adults is probably ideal though). We really enjoyed the hot tub overlooking the beach and the back yard with grass, also overlooking the beach. The back yard was great for our 1 yr old. When we originally looked at the photos of the house, I thought the beach was actually adjacent to the shrubs in the backyard and was accessible from there. It turns out that the house is approximately 20-30 feet above the beach, separated by a fair amount of vegetation. The closest beach access is 2 houses down the block. The neighborhood and beach were very quiet and private. It's definitely not as busy as the beaches to the north or south. Overall, we thought the house was great and would love to return again, highly recommended!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

Pam and Lois, We had a wonderful time at the beach and a big part of it was your fantastic house. Everything we looked for was right there, even darling cups for the little ones. I finally figured out how to turn on the registers in the bunk room, good thing kids run so warm. It was cold in there by morning. The beds were super comfortable and the pillows and extra blankets so nice. You've really thought of everything. We'll definitely be back. Thanks again, the de Kanter family Oh, we didn't write in the guest book, but we loved the daybeds!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2
