We were quite pleased with the accommodations. Six of us were attending a conference in DC, and the rental was the perfect fit. The only downside was the distance to the Metro (the sidewalks leading to the station were icy when we visited), but a quick taxi ride makes it easy. We appreciate everything, Ola! Thanks for everything!

Our group, which consisted of 8 adults, enjoyed our time here. The accomodations worked well for us, especially the amount of bathrooms. The townhouse was convenient to the Metro, about a 20 minute walk away (all uphill!!) and we found the bus on our last day which would have cut our walk down considerably. Several times we drove into DC and it was a short drive, although parking was scarce. The rooms were good sized and clean. Communication was good with Ola and everything worked out for us.

A few of us were here for a conference. The place is very nice and includes everything you can think of for a home. We all had a great time. The street was safe. Metro was a bit far and it took about 10 min to walk there but we chose to take a bus to the convention center. We liked it a lot and recommended it to everyone who wants to find a rental house.

The townhouse is in a very convenient location. Very quiet neighborhood and close to National Mall, museums as well as a Safeway Store and the great Yes Organic Market. It's an end unit which is nice and we never had problems parking right in front of the unit (we had two cars). Inside is very nice and bright, seems newly renovated. The master bedroom is better than ours at home, king size bed, sitting area and double sink master bath. We had a great vacation and would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay. The owner was very nice and addressed our concerns promptly. The two washers and dryers were very much needed. The photos was accurate. The property was well maintained. We would stay at this property again and will refer our friends and family. Thanks!! Louisiana Family

I rented this property for the weekend of July 9th for my son's 9th birthday party/sleep over. Ola was very attentive and if we did have minor issues he addressed them immediately. My children absolutely loved the house and there was plenty of room to accommidate all of my guests. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to renting out the house again. Thanks Ola!

I love this house. It fits perfectly 12 people including children. It is very clean. They have enough space for everybody. Parking was no problem. The parking at the back is the safety net. Kitchen, bathroom, laundry answered all our needs. We have a car we use to visit different sites. Ola answered our phone call when we needed him. Highly recommended.

Our family stayed at this home for 8 days as we toured Washington DC and we were very disappointed from the night we arrived until the day we left. It was both the simple things that were lacking (e.g., no cloths to wash dishes, no matress pads or pillow protectors, old and pilly sheets, old towels, little more.than the basics in the kitchen, etc.) and the bigger things you would expect for the cost. For example, other than three infomercials, no other channels were purchased on their nice HD TV. The smoke detector went off all three times we tried to use the oven and, consequently, we could not use some of the food we bought to eat some of our meals inside. We then had to rent a car because we had to go out to eat and did not feel safe walking to any restaurants (the area is more run down than the photos indicate). If we had paid less perhaps I would not be writing this review so harshly. The home was clean , however. I would not return to this rental.
Owner response:We have added to the things addressed in the comment above. We do have DirectTV and all the channels are working on our tvs. The smoke detectors are necessary to give warning in the event of fires, we will see if there is are sensitivity switches on some. Our home is located in a safe residential neighborhood and we have provided the home to various families over the years.

This is an honest pros & cons review, meant with good intentions to benefit the owners & renters. This is a quiet, residential neighborhood, so we drove to get around. About a 20 minute drive to the tourist sites (zoo, Whole Foods, and White House, Lincoln Memorial - go at night to avoid crowds!). TIPS for a property update: _ Although the property has free off-street parking that "accommodates 2 vehicles," it's more like for 1 car and 1 bike, not 2 cars. We were able to find street parking for the 2nd car, though. _ The bedding was not quality material, it was rough & pilling, not sure if it was washed as it had a hair or two that wasn't ours. (Would return with our own bedsheets.) Minor issues: _ the blender's blades were not there so the thought of making smoothies was a tease, _ the headboard in one of the guest bedrooms was a bit worn, slots weren't in all the way, _ a couple of the chairs on the main floor weren't fully functioning _ lots of light in the morning, so if you're sensitive to that while sleeping (as 2 of us were), bring an eye mask WE LIKE: Importantly, the refundable deposit was returned promptly, thank you very much, Ola. It was good for 2 nights, for the price, lots of space, kitchen amenities (minus the lack of a complete blender), and did I mention space (this coming someone from a big city)?
Owner response:Thanks for the review. We will make sure to get a new blender. We are glad you had a great stay, we take all comments positively as this helps us improve our service to our guests. Sincerely, 8th Street Suites

We stayed at the 8th Street Suites just before Christmas and had a great stay with our whole crew. The pictures here don't show the wide open spaces on the main floor. It also doesn't show the full apartment space in the lower level. We have rented many houses from individual owners in the past and Ola's level of service far exceeds any of our previous experiences. The only drawback, and it was very minor, is that the location was a bit far from Metro stations. Overall, this is a great house for visiting time for families!

We had a very nice visit over Labor Day. The house was perfect for the eight of us: two parents, four adult childen, and two sons-in-law. We rode the metro into downtown one day, but because of a sore knee in our party, we drove in the other two days. We found a parking garage at New Jersey and E street near Union Station that worked well for us. The house was beautifully furnished, and we ate about half our meals there. It was also very nice to come home in the evening and relax together. Labor Day was a very hot weekend and the air conditioning had to work pretty hard. The landlord had to talk us through setting the temperature. The master bedroom was particularly well done. I heartily recommend this property and hope future visitors will have as good a time as we did. I was a little nervous about renting through a website, but there were absolutely no problems. Sometimes it seemed as if our communications were not going through, but they did, perfectly.

We visited this home last summer and were dissatisfied with the "customer service" aspect of our stay. The owner did not return our phone calls for help during timely manner. The home, interior and exterior, was nice but lacking. Parking is inadequate and misrepresented. The posting says parking for two, but were unable to fit more than one vehicle. The main issue with the property was the AC system and the owner’s response. The temperature in D.C. that week was very hot, and the AC system was broke. The average temperature for the house during our stay was in the 80s. We called several times and the owner was difficult to understand over the phone. He said he sent someone to work on the system but it was not fixed. We were miserable in the house the entire week.
Owner response:Thank you for your comments. The AC cooling system problem has been resolved almost a year ago. As for added measure we added additional cooling units for your comfort during the summer months.

Terrific condo. Neighbors are all very nice and were really helpful with directions and driving suggestions. We drove into the city every day and had no problems. Great parking lot at 9th and New York Ave; easier than the subway. The condo had tons of room for our whole party, and Ola was very helpful. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a great vacation!

Due to a winter snowstorm, the property we originally were going to stay in was damaged and unavailable. Ola was very proactive in setting us up with an adequate replacement unit. He was very friendly, and timely in all other aspects of the rental process. We had a great time in DC!

This was a wonderful place to stay! My family of 4 and my sister's family of 5 had plenty of room. The home is decorated nicely and had everything we needed for a week's stay. Our security deposit was refunded in full. Access to the bus and metro was fairly convenient and the neighborhood was very friendly. We would stay at this location again.
