Adorable, NEW vacation rental - previously a private retreat, now available for rent for the first time. The Cottage is a charm-filled hawaiiana "cottage-style", ocean view studio condominium on one of the upper floors of the Diamond Head Beach Resort and Residences. The Hotel is a boutique, secured oceanfront condo-hotel, situated in the center of the Gold Coast and providing a staffed front desk .... oceanfront lawn and patios and on-site laundry facilities...adding an enhanced level of comfort and service to the guests of The Cottage.

As soon as you enter the gates of the Resort, catch a peek-a-boo view of the spectacular ocean surf, at the front of the Resort. A lovely slate walkways leads you past the reception area to the Resort's patio and manicured lawns, furnished with private lounge chairs, umbrellas and dining tables for the exclusive use of the Resort guests. Relax and enjoy the view or hop into the waves to swim or surf ... you can laze away a few minutes, hours or the entire day at the waters' edge, steps from the convenience of your hide-a-way studio apartment.

From the moment you enter the front door of "The Cottage" - You will be dazzled by the sweet, colorful decor and the adorable ambiance of the apartment. Fresh flowers and a welcome basket filled with goodies, snacks and fresh kona coffee greet your arrival. Explore the apartment to find everything you need to sink into blissful relaxation ... stunning views of Diamond Head, the ocean and the Ko'olau Mountain range ... a stocked kitchenette, fine bath and bed linens, an eclectic lending library of books, movies and music to enjoy during your stay ... as well as the modern comforts of air conditioning, flat screen TV, i-pod stereo dock, coffeemaker, and a new California-closet to stash away your bathing suits and flip-flops.

The Cottage was completely remodeled and furnished as an owners' unit in 2007/08 in a distinctly "feminine" style... a true "chick-pad"! Incorporating the finest materials and furnishings, including new bamboo floors, artisan tiles & one-of-a-kind onyx counter tops in the bath and breakfast bar, vintage fabrics, brand new quality furnishings from "Pacific Homes" in Honolulu...quality linens ...and all accented by the owners' eclectic collection of Hawaiiana antiques from "Bambouli" on Kauai... this is truly a one-of-a-kind vacation rental with all the charm of a private home.

From your private lanai, sip your freshly-brewed kona coffee and watch the park come to life as the sun rises over Diamond Head. Through the day, birds sing outside your window ... trade winds drift through the apartment ... magical! Later, relax over cocktails on the lanai as you watch the sunset over the Ocean.

Spend your day relaxing on the lawn or splashing in the ocean. Or take a short stroll through the park, or to nearby San Souci Beach, the Waikiki Aquarium or the Honolulu Zoo. Enjoy the frequent festivals and fairs held in the Park across the street, a concert at the Waikiki Bandshell, visit the the prestigious Outrigger Canoe Club (members only) or dine at the "W" and New Otani Hotels, all steps from the apartment!

The Gold Coast neighborhood of Diamond Head is a "walking" neighborhood, so no need for a car - walk or take advantage of the local public transportation. With all the luxuries of a fine hotel, but offering the conveniences of a private home, The Cottage is a unique and delightful destination for your next Hawaii visit. The unit is petite, best suited for 1 or 2 adults ... but the new sofa bed will easily accommodate a keiki or two.
