We stayed for a week at the end of March with our kids and a few family friends. The house was amazing - tons of space and very well appointed. It was great to get away to a place that had plenty of privacy in terms of bedrooms/layout, and also lots of great open family space for dinner, drinks and movies. In addition, the club in the neighborhood provides lots of other great amenities. The pool, hot tub, fitness center, and kids room were great for us. We used the facilities almost every day we were there and would love to go back and visit in the Summer as well to take even greater advantage of the pool. Finally, the neighborhood is great. Very close to Truckee and all of the resorts in North Lake Tahoe. We skied at Squaw during our visit, but Alpine, Northstar and other are equally convenient. Highly recommend this house! We will be back in the future!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

This is truly the home to stay in if a family wants roomy space and outstanding ombiance! Our family has stayed repeated times and are never disappointed. From the decor, the beautiful floors and for me the accessible views of Northstar slopes. This home is built to feel you are staying in a lodge. This home is more beautiful than the pictures show. We skied at Northstar everyday. The shuttle service is terrific. We love the little down of Truckee. This home has everything for a comfortable stay! We always stay in to eat because the Pinewood Lodge is so homey and easy to prepare meals in! Our families feel we have a home away from home.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, adventure seekers.

What a special treat to rent such a beautiful home. It was the perfect place to entertain our family members. The house is so spacious that everyone feels comfortable. The upstairs living area is an extra treat. It was enjoyable to sit on the balcony upstairs and watch the golfers hit their tee shots and putt on the par three. The house is beautifully decorated but not to the extent you need to worry about kids breaking things. The outside BBQ was a little need of maintanence and fooseball table also. Many activities in the area for the whole family. Highly recommend this beautiful property. Our entire family, grand kids, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and kids loved it!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We had the remarkable luck to find this incredible home on VRBO in 2010 for a Thanksgiving stay and fell in love. This year, November 2011 - February 2012, we extended our visit and did a winter ski lease at this amazing home. Cannot say enough about this beautiful property, and cannot wait to come back. The home is huge, yet warm and inviting, and the kitchen is to die for! This is a home that works well for large groups, a family(ies), or groups of couples wanting a get-a-way. So many things to love about this home, but to give it a top ten list, these features are our favorites: 1. Each bedroom is inviting, decorated well, and has a television. 2. Bathrooms are fabulous and have a spa-like feeling - Some even have televisions. 3. The media room is wonderful - warm, inviting, and very comfortable seating. 4. The views are great - Perfect view of Lookout Mountain. 5. Kitchen is HUGE and has gourmet appliances and features - The island seats numerous people and makes cooking/entertaining easy and fun. 6. Dining room has a fireplace. 7. Owners are awesome and responsive to any question/need. 8. Expansive (HUGE), yet homey and comfortable. 9. Fabulous location- close to Truckee and skiing. 10. Lots of seating in main family room, great for large groups.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

We had 6 couples that belong to a winemaker dinner group and we all went together for an extra long weekend. Everyone "oohhhed & aahhhed" when we walked in the door! The gourmet kitchen was fabulous! HUGE! The kitchen island was to die for. We all enjoyed cooking our courses together in the wonderful kitchen. It was so big we all fit! We really enjoyed the outdoor fireplace on the patio out back. Beautiful high ceilings in the living room (the fireplace was beautiful). Plenty of room for everyone to spread out & enjoy. Awesome views. Close to Truckee to go in for a little "shopping/ cocktail time'. We had a great time. We would LOVE to make it a "once a year event"! (maybe twice!!!!) Can't recommend this place enough!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We had a fabulous week in the Lake Tahoe area, but best of all was the house!! We expected it to be nice (from the online pictures), but it far exceeded our expectations. It was so spacious and spotlessly clean; it had every amenity imaginable, we enjoyed the bikes so much. The location and view were the best; we checked out Northstar, Squaw Valley, and Lake Tahoe communities and clearly liked Old Greenwood the best. We all (3 generations) loved the Club and used most of its varied facilities. I could go on about how pleased we were. Thank you for providing such a spectacular home for the 11 of us to relax and enjoy the area.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We spent a week at Old Greenwood as we do every summer. It's a great place to take the family. The Pinewood Lodge was perfect for us. We actually had 3 families and we fit with ease. There were several nights where the kids slept in one of the huge bonus rooms and thus we had an entire room un-slept in. There is just tons of space here which allow you to get away (from the kids) while enjoying a lovely house with friends. The patio is huge with a nice BBQ and large table. We ate outside most every night. It's right behind the green of about the 15th hole so you can watch golfers if you like that. The kids loved hunting for golf balls every morning before the golfers came through. Of course, you can get access to the Old Greenwood Pavilion which is awesome for the kids with pools, slide, kids club, etc.... Oh ya, and the gym at the Pavilion is awesome. It's a country club! Also, renting from the Bjorks was easy and they refunded our deposit in a timely fashion. Anyway, I highly recommend the Pinewood Lodge.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We stayed at Pinewood Lodge for a week and had an absolutely great time. As one of the earlier reviews said, the pictures do not accurately reflect the magnificence of the house. And it is so, not because it is big (which it is at 6,000 sq. ft.) but because it is well-designed and impressively crafted. It has a number of thoughtful touches that adds to the delight of vacationing there. The house has all the amenities a family can ask for in order to have a fun and relaxing vacation. The kitchen is huge and well-appointed. We used it a lot during our stay, and just went Safeway in downtown Truckee to stock up. The kitchen has a number of luxurious features that add to a delightful stay. For example, the Miele built-in wall coffee maker makes great coffee at a touch of a button. Nothing like sipping a cup of freshly-brewed coffee while relaxing with friends and family. Also, the huge stove includes a built-in griddle that we used to fry eggs for breakfast. The fireplace in the backyard was a well-used feature. We used the fireplace a few nights to make smores and enjoy the solitude of the place. Truly, we didn't have to leave the house to relax and feel that we were truly on vacation. The location of the property is ideal if you are looking for downtime and getting away from city life. We enjoyed walks while basking in the serenity of the place. At the same time, the conveniences of Tahoe Mountain Club were just a few minutes away. Definitely looking forward to our return there.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

Thank you for allowing us to rent your beautiful house, the pictures you posted do not do it justice. The gourmet kitchen was top notch. Cooking for a dozen people was easy due to all of the burners and ovens. I just remodeled my kitchen, and after using yours, I may have to remodel it again. Hopefully, we will be able to rent your home again in the Summer. I have already received requests to organize a trip in the Summer.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

WOW! The pictures and VRBO description did not match the feeling I got when I walked in the front door. OMG! Spacious Great Room- as if you are still outside. Cozy- as large as it is, the "cabin" still had a cozy atmosphere- around the fireplaces, dinning room, bedrooms. Pampered- Thermadore stove, push button microwave, and the master bedroom showers! I stayed in the first floor master bedroom - I loved the remote control fireplace. Right off of I80 and close to the grocery store. And, we even managed to carve out a "sled run" on the golf course. The outside fireplace was great to warm up without having to go back inside the house. Janet Maiden, Fremont, CADid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
