This is our second stay at this Mountain Star condo, and Lord willing, we will be back for a third. We have stayed in two other condos here at Mountain Star, but this is our favorite. What an EPIC week - 7 feet of snow fell since our arrival! We had an amazing time. We took one day off and drove down to Squamish to tour the mine - well worth the short drive. Its history is fascinating and the tour is very well done. Highly recommended.

This condo is quite nice. Comfortable furniture made for relaxing evenings. Large dining table. Very well stocked kitchen with everything you'd ever need. Beds were very comfortable and the hot tub was clean and relaxing. Not exactly a ski-out - you have to walk about 100 yards to a spot you can put on skis. It is a downhill walk and didn't bother us on a guys trip, but something to keep in mind if you are carrying kid skis as well. The ski-in is literally right to the front door, but you have to have enough skill to navigate a short path through trees. It worked great for us, but could be trouble when the base doesn't have fresh snow (we were lucky in that regard). Keep in mind that there is no bathroom on the main floor. The one upstairs is for the master bedroom and the one downstairs serves two bedrooms. That makes an all-guy ski trip a little harder to negotiate who gets what. We walked down to the village most evenings. While not hard, it may be more than someone would want to do with kids. We could have caught the bus and probably got there faster. You should plan on catching a bus or taxi back though as the condo is pretty high relative to the village. Finally, the condo is well-managed and people were easy to deal with. We will definitely consider this place again on future trips!

SNOW HAVEN! We loved it. The apartment was clean and extremely well stocked with all the essentials of a home. We discovered how easy it was to use the outdoor grill. There were also an electric knife (!!), an electric wok and a big rice cooker. It made cooking dinner really efficient and easy. The dishwasher was a dream too. We also loved the way the chalet has been furnished, with lots of paintings of skiing, reminding us of our days on the slopes. I especially loved the drawing of the crystal hut in the downstairs bathroom because we finally discovered the Belgium waffles on the slopes. Sadly made it there only once. To people reading this, go early otherwise the crystal hut becomes unbearably crowded. The kids also really really liked the hot tub. They would get out of their ski clothes quickly to go sit in the tub and stare at the mountain tops in the distance if it was still light. I would rate this one of the best homes away from home that we have stayed in, Thank you Holly and the Cherrys for helping us have a fantastic holiday. It was sooo great!!

Thank you so much for allowing us to use your Mountain home. It was fabulous! We loved your cozy and inviting decor and the beds are sooo plush. Now the kids want beds like that. We had great weather and hiked amongst the wildflowers and awesome views, and found new mtn biking trails above Lost Lake. I loved "Tin Cup". Thank you again.

What an incredible week we have had here in Whistler! The snow! The crazy snow!!! We could not have been more blessed. Our stay here in Mountain Star started a week ago. It has been a wonderful week filled with friends, family, and incredible memories. Thanks for the comfort of this lovely home. My daughter has declared it her favorite abode so far! We are all a little sad to be packing up today, but we're already planning a return trip down Blowhole next year! :-)

From sunny 360 degree views, to foggy braille skiing, to wind-whipped snow facials at the top of the chairs, we had it all this week. Over 50 cms of fresh snow and some wobbly-legged powder skiing, too. Ibuprofen for the old knees. May daughter (12) and I joined my brother and sister-in-law from Montreal for a lovely spring break together. This house gave us everything we needed for a cozy family stay. The Paralympics added a buzz of excitement even before they began. Inspiring athletes made our stiff knees see like blessings. The opening ceremonies, on TV from Vancouver, and the first medal ceremonies in Whistler have been heart-felt, touching, and charmingly informal. Your home here is certainly a family retreat and just what we needed.

The condo was terrific and suited our needs. Weather turned out great which was such a bonus for viewing the Olympic events staged in Whistler. 3 Australian XC skiers competed in various events - Paul Murray, Ben Sim, and Esther Bottomley. We were very proud of all of their achievements - Go Australia! Thank you for having us at Mountain Star. We really enjoyed our stay - hope to come back again one day.

"With Glowing Hearts"... What a wonderful Canadian welcome to the world! Thank you for sharing your home with us. My sons and I enjoyed a week here - we went to the Nordic combined race (USA took silver), and we got to see the medals presented! We also saw the men's free style skiing aerials under the lights at Cypress Mountain, and today, #1 and #2 Bobsleigh. We cooked, ate, and shopped. The hot tub was nice after walking and skiing. :-) This is a once in a lifetime vacation, but certainly not the last time to visit Whistler! I hope to return with my family someday soon, really soon. Thanks again for sharing your home. A nice way way to celebrate my birthday!

I want to thank you for our awesome ski vacation in Whistler. If it had not been for you contacting us, we would not have considered returning this year, due to the Olympics. It is scary to think of how much we would have missed if our destination had been different. The snow conditions were absolutely perfect! We had a great time last year when the snow was not at its best, but this year was unbelievable. Our very first day was greeted with several inches of new powder. We had a few people who experienced Whistler for the first time and they could not believe how great the skiing was. We also enjoyed many of Whistler's fine restaurants such as: 21 (my favorite), Caramba, Keg, and Mongolie Grill. It was also a very special trip for Ashley and me as we got engaged on top of Whistler Mountain. It was the perfect spot for a special moment in our lives. Thank you again for making our trip a possibility and please thank the Cherry family for allowing us to stay in their home.

We stayed at Mountainstar for 16 nights. There was plenty of room for the 6 of us and the location is excellent, with a bus stop at the bottom of the drive way that will take you to the village and the slopes just steps away. ?The home was filled with everything you could imagine from kitchen/cooking utensils to Dvd's, and activities for the kids.

I would like to thank you for all of your help with our trip. It turned out to be a great vacation. Just what we all needed to relieve the every day stress of life. The accommodations were perfect for our needs. The location was even better when we discovered that we could ski to within 20 yards of the front door via the Homerun trail. We had an incredible four days of skiing. The locals and mountain staff apologized repeatedly about the snow conditions, but we still made the best of what we had and had a great time. We had one person get hurt due to the icy conditions (torn ligaments in his shoulder), but overall, the entire group enjoyed their time on the slopes. The three beginners are hooked and already wish to return. The experienced skiers enjoyed the top of Blackcomb. We covered both mountains fully, except for the runs that were closed on Whistler. The village offered everything we wanted as well. We dined out several times and we were not disappointed with any of our selections. Overall, our vacation was an A+. We would definitely choose to stay with you again given the same number of people go next time. We know things will be crazy next year with the Olympics, but we hope to visit again in 2011.
