Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2003
Tucson Magazine named Bisbee, Arizona “Best Place to Get out of Town” for 2009, but we discovered this charming historical mining town on a road trip years ago. It was late afternoon and the sun was just setting on the red-colored mountains that surround Bisbee when we drove into town for the very first time. It was like we were looking at a picture-perfect postcard! One year later we came back for a second visit and it was during this visit that we bought a 100-year-old boarding house (which we made into our home) and the 110-year-old miner's cottage (now the Doublejack Guesthouse) next door. We love it here! Your hosts, Jeff & Bob.
Why the Owner Chose Bisbee
Bisbee is a friendly and accepting community which offers everything from fine dining to old-west saloons, mining history, Victorian architecture, great hiking and world-class birding opportunities.
The Unique Benefits of this Guesthouse Cottage
Whether you come for a weekend getaway or spend the whole week, you won’t run out of things to do or places to eat at. From a stone-baked natural pizzeria to a gourmet take-out café offering a new smoothie, juice and espresso bar, one won’t go hungry in this town! Bisbee offers something for everyone – fun things to do, unique lodging, art galleries, and loads of shopping. In 2008 Arizona Highways named Café Roka and in 2009 Bisbee Breakfast Club among the top 25 restaurants in all of Arizona. History buffs will discover an award-winning Smithsonian affiliate, the Bisbee Mining and Historical Museum. For the adventurous, there is the underground Queen Mine Tour. One of the best ways to experience Bisbee is to just get out of your car and walk around the charming alleys, stairways and sidewalks of Old Bisbee. Come with your sense of adventure and leave with a renewed spirit!

On all Hallows Eve two spirits will return once more, to laugh and walk Bisbee's peaceful streets once more. P.S. The Doublejack is awesome. We love the decorations. We very much enjoyed the patio.

Thank you for sharing the Doublejack with us. It is so peaceful and relaxing. We walked, shopped, and ate our way through Bisbee. It was always nice to know we were coming back to your quiet retreat. We enjoyed the bread, coffee, and biords. We watched the sun rise and set. It was a perfect weekend!

We absolutly loved staying in your cabin and only wished we could have stayed longer. We will definitely recommend your place to anyone coming to Bisbee. Good luck with all that you do and hopefully we'll be back soon!

Thanks again for a terrific night at your beautiful guest house. It was an addled pleasure to get the chance to meet you and Jeff. I loved many things about it, but won’t forget rolling over in bed and looking over what seemed like the edge of a high cliff with that gorgeous view. I must have slept 10 hours—wonderful! I loved looking around Bisbee, too, what a unique, beautiful town. I won’t forget your restaurant recommendation a short walk across the border either. Don’t know when I’ll be back in your area, but the memories will feed me here for a long time.

Thank you for the opportunity to stay in such a lovely setting: birds (hooded oriole, scrub jay, hummingbirds too many to count), fresh clean air, and peacefulness. We loved the guesthouse and were very impressed with the tea selection, but couldn't figure out why it was in the bathroom...oh wait...oooh...I see!!! Anyway, the decor was fabulous and most interesting -- we loved it and the attention to detail that is fun and at times unusual and different. We can't wait to come back -- can't think of any place we would rather stay, even if it means we have to get "healthy" along the way! Hugs to you both and thanks again!

Back again -- another perfect getaway! Was able to have a longer stay this time. Enjoyed just as much, or even more, than last time. Will be in our future plans again. Thanks a bunch and always good seeing you both. Bisbee is growing on us!

Thanks to John R. for telling me about this wonderful abode. Everything is perfect. Comfortable bed, food in the fridge, hummingbirds on the patio, views for the taking, and a restful lovely "cottage" with great vibes. Thanks Bob & Jeff!

We are smitten. First with the guesthouse, then with eachother (again), and finally with Bob and Jeff. They are so dreamy. Truly felt like family (minus the dysfunction). Favorites: the shower, bathtub, bed, Total Recall, homoerotic art, hummingbirds, sunning in the garden, views, and the fountain. We cooked, we slept, we conquered. We love Bisbee -- and our new friends, Bob and Jeff!
